Just what COULD be a fail in "epic" proportions while playing Spelunky, since you will inevitably die SOME DAY? Death is in one of the key roles in the game, and you mainly end your miserable or "so-far-so-good" trek by either random mistakes, or just lack of experience. Thus, I'd rather avoid defining which death is an epic failure, and which isn't, because it has no logical reason to do so.

once, as soon as i started, i jumped and got shot by an arrow trap, got knocked far away, where i got hit by another arrow trap,which knocked me between two arrow traps and onto spikes.

nah, epic fail was when yetti throw me at the wall and I bounced back... about ten times... or when yetti throws you to another yetti which throws you to spikes...

My favorite stupid death so far is walking right from the first entry door, stepping off a ledge, and falling into a row of spikes. It was a setup like the horrible spike pits in the jungle minus the vines and with spiders instead of monkeys.

Epic fail to enemies,one cavemen was shot with arrow in beginning of level. And epic fails to me,I was so close to get in exit,when I got hit by monster,and fell to my death

Talkin' Spelunky, I remember a death in the Water stages. I had the damsel, had to make a risky jump, needed the ledge but didn't want to toss her with the crawl-to-ledge move, so I tried the ol' quick back & forth technique.

I whiffed it, dead when I hit the ground, and I watch as she drops right into the mouth of a killer plant. My body's still moving, falls another story next to one of those thorny totem things, and it proceeds to knock my body down another story and into a bed of spikes.

not epic, but characteristically one of the "aw fuck me" deaths you get all the time in spelunky. like, you spend 10 seconds setting up a jump and then a bat comes in and kills you before you can even do it.

or you jump don't noticed an arrow hits you you fall another arrow below hits you and then you fall in spikes...

man this games hates you how the hell can indiana jones deal with this stuff?

Tell me about it. My favorite "early playing" death went like this:

I threw a rock at 2 bats, which missed by going -between- them, bounced against a wall, and struck me, stunning me. The two bats hit me after that, knocking me off a ledge, I got arrow-trap shot (killing me), and then landed in death spikes for good measure.

I couldn't tell whether I should be laughing or crying.

or when you die a "aw fuck me" death and then you start over and the entrance is covered by three arrow traps and you are in a closed space and bombs arnt an option...
