What I like about Arlen is his ability to seamlessly span many styles sometimes within the space of a single song ! And while he has a deep bag of chops he doesn't throw them all out there at once because he doesn't have to. He has the confidence that marks experienced players and even if you haven't heard him before, you get he impression he is capable of great music, which of course he is.

I've stolen lots of his licks but can't put them together like he does.

SRV was incredible but a lot of what is attributed to him is just the intensity he played with. He was not necessarily better. There have been and still are many other incredible blues guitarists. Arlen Roth is one of them.

I had a sports car guitar-you know with floyd rose and all the perks. I than bought a telecaster and have never felt so much love for an instrument. There really isn't any tone unavailable-even metal if you wish. I love the blues and hard rock-it never lets me down. Now if I could play like Arlen-ha,ha.....he could make anything sound great. Even without effects, that's the beauty.

Very Inspiring! Thanks for letting us use this as a reference of how to be creative, innovative, and attached to the emotions a guitar player can emote through his guitar. I have spent hours listening and picking up on nuances you add compared to the normalcy of the others out there nowadays. I always walk away with sore hands after trying to practice a few of your licks to incorporate into my playing. You're one of my favorites and one of the reasons I keep striving to become a better musician
