The fact of the matter is that blacks DO have a high rate of unmarried single mothers. A fact that this group of black people are ignoring while they tear down gays for wanting to marry. A fact I find intolerable.

I understand this is an older convo, but I'd like to chip in that, truthfully, any black person that voices opposition to same-sex marriage is inherently hypocritical. I'm not going to go into Kazumi's stats and logic, thought-provoking though they are, but rather point out the simple fact that for a once-oppressed minority to turn around and do the same to another minority is simply unconscionable. The last time I checked, America was not a theocracy. Our Constitution provides for separation of church and state. These people are free to worship and marry, so what is their problem? Equal rights for all under the law is the American way,and not subject to vote and consensus. Everyone should have the CIVIL right to marry the person of their choice. No class of US citizens should be singled out to have lesser rights than others.
