im tryin to go preppy. but i dont know how to match the clothes up. the colors they wear doesn't go together. but they make it look good. how do i do that?
@turnerc04 Just wear them. As you noticed, preppies clothes don't have to match exactly but they are always cordinated. If the pieces you are wearing are classic and "preppy" then you shouldn't have trouble. One advice I'll give you specially if you are new to this is to look always natural. Avoid wearing a peacoat or wool jacket if you are in a tropical weather for example. Also Searching for advices in color matching is smart but don't take that too seriously, just so you can know the basics.

A lot of the spring and summer color schemes are usually softer pastel colors. White is a very common color. Pretty much anything bright. well its a style. so i still like abercrombie and hollister and im totally gonna wear it and still be preppy. its not a religion and i prefer a mixture of my favourite styles anyway. nothing must be this stereotypical, damnit.

I think you've got the clothes all right, but the pictures of regular people are more spot on than the professional/fashion shoot pictures. Preppy girls don't wear much make-up, if any. Finding one sporting a dark, super-bold, smokey eye is akin to spotting a Yeti. Most importantly, preps don't do elaborate hairstyles. My friends barely put a comb through their hair for prom...
Doesn't the preppy trend go hand-in-hand with the lifestyle? I like this look, but let's face it, I can't be prep with my budget and my education. Now how many of us can really say we're preppy. Maybe at heart, but for some of us, never truly unless you really want it and go for it.
This style is simply elegant and smart! I best like clothes designed by Tommy Hilfiger, but such Zara has some interesting pieces of clothes like that, too.
I saw this guy coming onto a bus in Oxford, wearing leather loafers (no socks), a matching belt, a red and white oxford shirt tucked into his rolled up khaki trousers (this was before this look became "in style"), carrying graduation robes. HE LOOKED SO YUMMY!
i always thought that people who dressed this way were all rude and snobby, but looking at the comments on some of these videos im very happy to be proven wrong. :)

Sometimes I think classy black men and women dress better than other populations. So, it's not the "niggers" that destroy this look it's all types of people who just don't value preppiness like we do :)

People forget that Abercrombie is a really old brand, but the new leadership has bent over backwards to cater to upper-middle class teenagers instead of sticking to its rugged Northeast heritage. Some of their denim products still pass the test, but other than that I wouldn't want to be caught in one of their labels.
@xastrickxplusx Abercombie is somewhat preppy. Because the look of some of there items are classy and laid back, NOT Hollister. Hollister's too overated, you don't see much other good stuff out there these days. Like, my whole college campus wears Hollister! But i actually go with a little class:)
I myself would not classify myself as being preppy but I have loads of friends who are 'posh' (for lack of a better word) and they are all lovely. One does get the odd stuck up wanker/bitch but on the whole they are a very congenial lot, and this is in Britain
