wtf man, you dont deserve that rat, your treating it bad there man, come on you made em twist like 4 times and diddent give em a treat, i know thats the point but thats rude
Its not a mouse, its a Natal Rat (Or African Soft Furred Rat). They are nothing like mice in temperament, but basically the same to care for otherwise.
Hi, my boyfriend and I have been watching your videos for a while, and we would like to attempt to clicker train our hamsters. Do you think this is possible?
If anything, we noticed that hamster are much less active then mice and rats are, so I would assume that clicker trainer would not work too well with them.
...because this rat species is naturally very aggressive and territorial, they are extremely hard to tame. their character does not compare at all to pet rats! But Pauli is adult now and has become quite calm, i can even cuddle him outside his territory (inside he will still attack my hand).
...and i didn´t even look when he twisted again, first saw it on the video, poor pauli! my asfs are clicker trained, so i don´t have to touch them directly: looks backwards - click. turns backwards - click. turns around - click. he got it in one session. i say his name first cause in this cage there are 4 asfs and 8 mice, all clickertrained.
most of my mice know this trick, too. i just lead them in a circle with a treat in my hand (but my asfs would attack my fingers or the tweezer instead).
awwe he did it on his one in the end of the vid

They arent treating it bad. You obviously dont know anything about training rats.
You need to make them work for the treat. And you cant over feed them by giving them a treat EVERY SINGLE TIME. Get your facts right.
