The point is that we've killed a ton of Iraqi and Afghan civilians. Also, if you actually read the article, it emphasizes several time that the author took the low end estimate. He says that the ratio of US to Muslim casualties is more likely 1:100 or "Well over one million."
That's still conservative compared to, once again, KOREA.
And considering how KOREA turned out, I would call THAT country worth it.

He says that the ratio of US to Muslim casualties is more likely 1:100 or "Well over one million."

No, it's a valid point. Because of our actions, we've offered ourselves up as a potential threat to all Middle East nations regardless of their past conflicts. Iran sees themselves as being next on US's list.
