  • Your Video The Four Fundamental Subspaces Is Very Useful Sharing

  • 40:35 is the first time we see that there are no students. Creepy. I thought they were there the whole time!

  • How I wish all professors discuss lessons they he does.

  • prof strang didnt state but N(A) basis should be made the same way like the basis for N(AT). So its the row of E, AE=0

  • great lecture .i am so grateful to prof.gilbert

  • thanks professor gilbert

  • He is not only a master lecturer, he is a master of writing on a chalkboard. I swear, it looks like he is using a paint pen.

  • great lecture

  • The subtitles are out of sync...

  • An incredible professor with a gift for teaching. This is linear algebra done right. Thank you!

  • I want to write on that chalkboard with that chalk.

  • this guy is grandios.

  • great that we can E=AR this lecture.

  • How do u get (1 2 3 1) with a zero row (0 0 0 0) and (1 0 1 1)

u said u reserve the steps..

  • i guess there are no students because strang did this on sunday and said look my video for lecture 10 on monday :D

  • @ 44:40 "Of course you can say: You can multiply those matrices!

    ... I don't care..."

    ROFL

    Best Lecture Ever.

  • I go to mcgill and I swear they choose the profs who teach the course to make it harder. as if to weed us out. he is incredible.

  • [at 38:01] *Raises the board* "Ohh... I should've figured out in advance what it was... Shoot.." I lol'd at that

  • @Boeing1991 oh, right, I used to do that. You tend to forget about these things quickly ;)

  • quite a boring lecture, moving to the next one

  • Haha, I guess I'm challenging that demographic then since I'm a student using this as a supplement to my class XD

  • it seems good

  • Thank you, this is so helpful

  • The best teacher ever. I really admire the act of MIT. Like in a phrase in its website: "Unlocking Knowledge, Empowering Minds."

  • What fascinates me are some stats you can find below this video. Maybe it's some bug but youtube tells us that this video is most popular among:

    1) men 45-54 yo

    2) men 35-44

    3) men 25-34

Which I find really strange cause I've thought that most of viewers would be actual students.

Also, popularity by region is interesting stat.

  • thanks for pointing that out. Interesting facts indeed. I'm taking linear algebra right now and these stats seem to be fairly accurate representation of my class...i'm one of only 4 girls!

  • @ucrclxl you should take into account that most people don't put their correct age when signing up to youtube (since some videos require you to be over 18)

  • @ucrclxl I think this statistics is true. Because I don't think students need to watch again lecture they already have live in uni for second time. I think these videos in major for self learners or those who want to refresh their mind. I am 25 myself and I am not a student.

  • @13Septem13 ...uni ?? I went over to Australia and that was the only place i've ever heard that term. Are you form Australia? Just wondering if Australia is the only one who has the term ' uni '.

  • @beefstu20077 No, I am from Ukraine. English is not even my native language. Don't know why I use "uni". Probably heard somewhere before.

  • damn y cant i have lectures like these i got a prof that treats us like PhD students and doesnt explain shit

  • your the master

  • This is so helpful, thanks alot!

  • This is awesome!

    Great lecture!!

  • Thanks Dr. Strang

  • I don't care if there aren't any students. Professor Strang is all I need ^_^ hehe!

  • Is it just me, or are there no students in this video, and the camera angles there choosing is hiding it?

  • so what?...

  • So?

This can mean a lot of things, and one of them is that they couldn´t tape this class and Strang had to repeat it in front of the cameras and they didn´t pay to some people to just sit right there so people like you would stop commenting that fact.

Great classes, I do not speak english as native language, but certainly this is awesome, I really appreciate it

So much Thanks to MIT and Professor Strang!!

  • Professors often practice their lectures 2-3 times before giving them. He probably decided to tape the practice lectures and the real lectures and since the practice lecture was better that is what ended up on youtube. That's why some videos have students in them and others don't.
