  • Can someone give me a pointer?

At 35 seconds he copy/pastes the code on the the third line into the prompt. I only have two lines and they both just have a couple periods ".."

Any ideas why my Win 7 Pro 64-bit is doing that? I haven't modified anything from the factory image. Thanks!

  • @RenewITSolutions

He presses the 'tab' key which fills in the code once you've started it. If you start typing it in like he does and then press 'tab' it will complete it for you. As for why you don't have it, I have no idea.

  • When I select partition 1 it says "partition not selected"?

  • worked great now I can finally get rid of linux

  • "there are no partitions on this disk to show" ? what do I do?

  • 4 people are assholes. This is genius, and I'm VERY happy I found this!!!

    Thanks a billion!!!!

  • Cool!

  • Excellent thanks very much.

  • @ :36 do we type all them numbers?

  • I had to make sure this was formatted ntfs, but it worked!

  • Oh thank christ, I fixed my laptop and now I can sleep in peace. Yay work in 6 hours.

  • Ok so I got it to work and it asks me about the input or whatever, then what do I do? There is no option that says 'repair this computer'

  • can i put any other things in my flash drive other than said information in this video?

  • hey, I tried what you are doing, but when I come to: xcopy /h boot.sdi F:\boot and click enter, it comes up: 0 file(s) copied

what have I dont wrong then?

  • @Olseenn1 I had the same problem. then i realized my USB was not the "F:\" drive. check to makesure your drive is F" or not. if its not, replace all the 'F:\' with what every your drive is. for example mine was 'i' soo i had to put 'i:\' Hope it helped.

  • at 0:30 he types c:\Recovery. I don´t have that folder. should i?

btw, i run win 7 professional, 64 bits

  • @lsag05 i have the same problem as isag05...anyone have a solution? the location of the recovery file wherever it may be isnt located in the same place for us~!!!!

  • @lsag05

Make sure you you don't capitlise the 'r'. So it's "c:\recovery" and not "c:\Recovery".

  • mine said 0 files copyd and no path found and other things and tht!!!!!!!

  • thank you :)

  • i made one when i had win 7 home premium, i illegally upgraded to win 7 ultimate ( like a fool) and i tells me windows 7 is not genuine. if i use my repair disk will it put me back to win 7 home premium? plz respond and ill sub

  • Anyone having problems with this guide is a fucking idiot.

He clearly and plainly types out every command in dos.

    Thanks for the guide!

  • Thx. :) Helped me a lot

  • echo F|xcopy /h Winre.wim F:\sources\boot.wim doesn't work, it asks me the question about file or directory about 5 times instantly and does not let me answer, it just goes back to letting me type a command rather than answer with f.

  • @mupet00000

Even though he specifies his flash drive is labeled F:, that doesnt mean every capital F should be replaced with your drive letter. that echo F| means automatically answer 'F' (as in file) to the xcopy prompt that appears. If you change that particular 'F' to your drive letter, you will not answer xcopy's prompt correctly. How ever make sure you DO change all F:'s to your drive letter.

  • people the part after ' dir /a:sh' wont be the same for everyone, the 'F' is his usb, your usb will be different to his. so go to START, COMPUTER, THEN GO DOWN TO YOUR USB AND AFTER THE NAME OF YOUR USB IN BRACKETS IT WILL SHOW A LETTER, USE THAT LETTER INSTEAD OF THE 'F' IN ALL THE COMANDS WHICH HAS 'F:\' JUST PUT YOUR LETTER THEN ':\' AND THE REST HOPE THIS HELP :D DNT KNOW WHY I PUT THE REST IN CAPITALS :p

  • is there a way 2 fix the bootmgr missing without a widows dvd/cd or an usb.?? :/

  • Sweet thank you very much.

  • what is guide directory ?

  • hmm, I tried you method and I got to xcopy /h dvd\pcat\bcd F:\boot and it says file not found?!? O_o

  • I Get Lost After dir /a:sh

  • i cant even get on to the boot menu. the keyboard doesnt work. i tried another keyboard with usb and mouses and none work. what now?

  • i try to do this but the command prompt says access denied

  • @animeparad0x run as administrator

  • when I type cd c:\recovery in command prompt (yes im running it as administrator) it says "The system cannot find the path specified." HELP ME!

  • Can anyone giv me a repair file from the cd... my com (win7 ultimate) is spoiled at the startup... I cant fix it as i dont have windows 7 ultimate cd and i upgrade it by having a code and putting the code in the windows anytime upgrade... pls help me!!!

  • how do i boot from it?

    I did what you did

  • my is e: drive will it work or no?

  • Cool tutorial, but what is the point of this part:

    echo F|xcopy /h Winre.wim F:\sources\boot.wim

  • at second :35 u typed cd then suddenly a huge line appeared did u paste it or how did u put it ?????

  • @jackiechan3ever There's a CMD shortcut you can use: Type the first character of that directory (or enough to identify the unique one you are looking for) followed by an asterisk.

  • i lost my shell file in my windows folder inside my c drive and windows 7 cant boot

can i boot from my usb drive from the control screen?

  • Thanks, was able to repair my bootloader on my laptop (no dvd drive)

  • This worked great, thanks a lot!

  • how big does it have to be? (the usb drive)

  • @dragondeo123 I think the disc is somewhere around 200MB...so I would say at least 256MB maybe 512MB, so any new flash drive should work.

  • I was wondering if there was a way to create a bootable diagnostic utillity partition (Dell) from a diagnostic cd, you're obviously a wizzard so any advice would be great- thanks.

  • @ktucker147 I would be interested in trying this but I don't have a computer with a dell diagnostic partition. If you know where I can get a disc that will create this partition, I could try to look into it as I think it would make a good video.

  • @ktucker147 try a program called UNetBootin. I've used it to burn the Dell OSMA onto a USB and it worked well

  • Oh yeah, forgot. I didn't have a recovery folder in the root of my C: drive. I had to get boot.sdi from c:\windows\SysWow64 and winre.wim from c:\windows\system32\Recovery

All the other files were where they should be :)

  • @toysareforboys1 . hi can you help me I have messed up my netbook nb200 .. i cant do my toshiba recovery media center because it says i have no HDD recovery enironment .. dono if i have deleted someone by accident .. you have already helped my by showing me how to CONVERT F: /FS:NTFS witch was a great help to change my usb device , but now am stuck at it saying system cannot find the patch specified . a dont have a clue where to go from hear can you help me plz thanks

  • @madsean1888 The nb200 is pretty sexy. What exactly did you do to "mess it up"? What does it say when you try and boot it normally? I take it you don't have an external USB CD drive? Message me rather then posting in mcbeatbox937's video comments so we don't clutter it all up.

    -Jamie M.

  • I wasn't able to get it working for a while. It was because my USB stick was formatted FAT32. After doing the instructions in your video I went to command prompt and did: CONVERT F: /FS:NTFS

It converted the stick to NTFS and it booted perfectly!! Sweeeeeet.

    -Jamie M.

  • Ive just done it. You saved me buying a usb dvdrw.

    Thanks!

  • how can u do stuff with a aprox 100gb hard drive

  • Thank you, i've finally removed grub from my computer!! Fantastic! ;)
