vorrei sapere chi è quel povero idiota che può giudicare gli altri senza prima giudicare se stesso. grande film, l'amore non ha sesso , non c'è l'ho dimentichiamo mai.
What I like about this ending, and I will afree with almost everyone that it is a beautiful ending but what i find intriguing is that as the camera pans the room, you notice most people are involved in their own lives. They are either in conversation with others or showing their newborn babies but they are all doing something and they are not watching the home movies. I find this a beautiful commentary that even though they are at wake for a friend/family member - life still goes on...
@Pizuzuzimmer Maybe what you can learn from this movie then is that we all make mistakes. And with those mistakes, there are consequences. It's still a beautifully acted movie with two of the greatest actors of all time. You can't change that, you can't take that from us, and regardless of what you write we must all learn to love each other because we are all human beings.
@Pizuzuzimmer You have a very depressing view of human existence. I hope you can enjoy something else.
On another note, if I "don't know much about cinema," are you implying that the Academy doesn't know much either. Tom Hanks won an Oscar, which is more of an achievement than you will most likely ever accomplish. So please, do not belittle the beautiful emotions of Hanks and Washington here, as it is a true look at human compassion.
A movie that contained an array of talent-Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Joanne Woodward, not to mention the haunting music contributed by Neil Young, and, of course, Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen.
Those of you who would like to see Hanks and Washington team up in another venture, raise your hand.
@Pizuzuzimmer Ha, ha. Do you realise how most people view idiots which accuse complete strangers of homosexual activities? They usually view those idiots as suspicious, attempting to deflect something... usually rather badly.
You also live in Greece, that pretty much triples your chances of engaging in anal sex at some point in your pathetic existence (may as well make good use of that olive oil, huh?).
@Ziet1 You're right! I never cry at movies(especially Hollywood movies) but during this I have to leave the room...it's a beautifully directed scene and Neil Young's wonderful and poignant tune is perfect.
Yeah me too...always cry even how many time i watched this movie
