  • Wow! Found this while looking for past entries from last year since I just entered the SF 48 Hours for the first time this year. This is the best 48 Hour film I've seen period! Brilliant animation, did you submit this year too? Hope to see another one of your films at one of the screenings!

  • @VishalSinghFilms We did do another one this year! It's called "How The Spot Was Won."

  • @ChineseTakeoutFilms Haha yeah I know, I was at the screening!! It was definitely my favorite from all of group A's films

  • This is excellent! When I first heard this story, I wasn't scared but this gave me chills.

  • Great work. Nice job. Feels genre solid... and creepy. :)

  • Okay, I've dealt with this privately, and I want to make sure everyone knows: I'm sorry for being such a persistent douche.. I didn't realize how rude I was being by flaming the youtube page for this submission. I removed my comments. Let's let it rest.

  • @grampskvideo Thanks for owning up.

  • @grampskvideo doesn't seem to understand the process behind motion graphics; did he think this was old school frame-by-frame animation? While this is an incredible 48hr film project [congrats guys!], its clear to me that its something possible to finish within the time allotted, so long as you had someone on the team who was a good artist, and another who knew & had After Effects and Final Cut.

    Good work, guys!

  • @grampskvideo - Good acting in your film, btw. And your song was great. Anyway, I was the narrator for Okiku and have messaged you privately to answer your concerns. I don't think youtube comments are the best way to discuss this. :) And yes, we actually did do everything in 48 hours -- even the score was completely original!

  • @grampskvideo I am amazed not only at your persistence in denying the fullness of their accomplishment but also at your determination to now reframe your issue as being about how they did or did not defend themselves in order to avoid simply admitting you were wrong here or apologizing.

  • @ChineseTakeoutFilms

Okay, this is pointless... I was trying to get you guys to defend yourselves by going into specifics of how it was indeed possible to do this project in 48 hours, but you didn't, so I'm still assuming you cheated. By talking with you guys I also found out that your team is pretty mean as well.

Anyway, the conversation stops here. I'm not wasting my time responding to your comments any more.

  • @grampskvideo I just looked at your channel. Aren't you the lead actor in a film from the same screening night as Okiku?

  • Thanks, everyone! We had a blast making this. We had so much fun that we might even do more shorts in the same style.

  • Good work folks! What a thrilling achievement.

And WE believe that you accomplished it in the allotted time. That makes it more awe-inspiring.

  • great job, but i doubt that you guys did this project in the allotted 48 hours...

  • @grampskvideo Thanks! We're pretty happy and flattered to take this comment as a compliment!

  • You all are so amazing. I want to pick your art director's brain! Such talent. You blew us all away yesterday.

  • saw this at last nights screening... absolutely amazed this was done in 48hrs. i have a ton of respect for you guys!

    - Aaron D., Stabbing My Jelly!

  • Is this a true story? I tried Wikipedia but could not find anything. Can you provide sources? Thank you.

  • @ayelogan It's an old Japanese folk tale that was later used as inspiration for puppet and kabuki plays. Search Wikipedia for "Bancho Sarayashiki"

  • This is so awesome. Loved it at the screening.
