  • Sounds amazing.

  • even when I have the hardware I can't be bothered to patch it in!

  • wow...against software..?guys most people won't have a chance to use "the real thing" in their life. people like UAD make it possible to work using legendary pieces and get bloody good results. that's one thing. the other is if you learn this emulation and you come across hardware stuff you are already familiar with the way stuff works. it saved me lots of time.

  • very true

  • I just have to laugh when people say they'd rather have the real thing. Plugin manufacturers are saving the asses of musicians everywhere. Your best tool is always still going to be your ears, but software is getting better every year. Pretty soon you really won't be able to tell the difference. Plus, if you're a good mixer, you can really make this stuff sound convincing. And spending 50,000 on real Neve hardware still doesn't mean you know how to mix. I had access to a 1073 before, loved it.

  • I dont get the plug-in thing. I like real-life pieces of equipment myself rather than staring at computer screens going blind as well as deaf.

  • Everybody prefers the real thing, but not everyone can AFFORD the real thing.

  • a $200 real thing sounds better than an expensive 'virtual' comp ...

  • $200 for a real 33609... Add an extra 2-3 grand to that and you'd be a lot closer. Check your facts again.

  • I didn't know that only 33609 is a good compressor ... I was thinking to FRM RNC which is a real great hardware compressor around $200... All the vsts are the same... These are the best crap ever invented ...

  • Well... Yeah, fair point I suppose.

  • i like the fat, natural sound of the original, but it always sounds different in the mix.

  • I love the "Plug-in" culture. Companies are taking in musicians money for selling small bits of software. The musician believes they own a Neve, Moog or Tube Tech (but they dont really).

  • they actually do. it's an officially licensed product ;) hah

  • Its a piece of software...! Its not a Neve. Dont believe the hype.

  • well it might not be a neve hardware unit, but i believe my ears. and i like what im hearing. and my mixes do like it too...

  • @ Dattana, Yeah you are right this compressing sounds redicalous. Never the less this compressor is amazing! This guy just ain't got no ears!

  • Dattana (7 maanden geleden) Toon Verbergen -2 Gemarkeerd als spam Antwoorden | Spam original sounds better with no plugin! sorry but true!

yeah i have the same opinion, but in fact the compressor is amazing! This guy has no ears!

  • Great video and product. Bottom line: with compression have some "discression" and open your friggen ears, or you end up sounding like overcompressed 80's pop ass. I've heard great mixes ruined with double triple comp, squashing all the dynamics, impossible to fix that master. Don't comp it to sound like the radio (they compress everything as a rule to level out the program) so let them do that. Just make it sound good, natural, or harsh, unatural, whatever. no rules! just ears!

  • You can make a single drum track sound fantastic using just about any plugin. It's a totally different story when you have rest of the instruments going.

  • Well, the flip side to this coin is, if your drums fall apart when you introduce the rest of the tracks in the mix, then you're doing something wrong. There's a character sound to this compressor that isn't easy to accomplish with just any other compressor, hardware or software in my opinion. You can't get a DBX 160 to sound like this!

  • original sounds better with no plugin! sorry but true!

  • I concur, but probably in the mix it sounds tighter.

I may have said something stupid there, but I'm just a newb.

  • Gran sonido.

  • Love this plugin.
