@MrBoobtoob1 hahaha.. i am going to be 52 on the 27th of thsi month ( jan)..spent a year truey thinking i was still 50 ( thru nov , ) til someone online pointed it out. i laughed myself silly .
Funny story, filmmaker Quentin Tarantino prefers to come up with original brand names to use in his films to avoid directly using pop culture references. Yet, at the end of Kill Bill, the Bride and her daughter are seen watching this very cartoon!
At the time this was released in 1946, "THE SHADOW" was a popular weekly radio program [its famous opening- "Who knows what evil lurks, in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows...{sinister chuckle}"].
@zachmisfitsrule The husband and wife were the forerunner of Heckle and Jeckle, the cartoon never said it was a Heckle and Jeckle cartoon, but this is acknowledged as their beginning. They would refine the act in the next cartoon made, keeping the moniker of "The Talking Magpies".
i use to watch this when i was a little girl! i had it on VHS and i been looking for it for years. i'm 24 now. can anyone help me find another old cartoon with ghosts in jail singing and dancing? i think its in black and white
This was the first appearance of the magpies, in January 1946, but they wouldn't become "Heckle & Jeckle" until their "official" debut in "The Uninvited Pests" that November. Dayton Allen provides most of the voices (using his "Hugh Herbert" impression as the "Real Estate Agent"); Tom Morrison, one of the studio's "utility voices" and "story associate" under John Foster, is the male half of the arguing magpies at 1:41.
I'm 19 and I love old Public Domain cartoons.

If it had Betty Boop in it, then I think you're talking about "Minnie the Moocher". It's here on Youtube. Do a search.
