  • you play it completely different than you show it -.-

  • Was finding these videos helpful... haha important word "WAS" :(

  • I am genuinely sickened by the repeats at the end.

  • Yeah. This is pretty confusing and just plain wrong. Following the tabs is easier.

  • NO where does he say to hit the forth string in this sec. but in the slow mo he hits it 3 times???

  • i love how you teach and go step by step. best tutorial on youtube, but there are things on the tab you didnt show us or showed us differently.. it is hard to adjust and if you could act on this comment and tell us something about it or change/update your vid or tab, that would make this tutorial flawless. thanks for making such a great vid regardless of small errors. well done

  • Shoulda just explained the end instead of showing a slow motion over and over...

  • The slowmo is different :-/ hmmm i check the tabs

  • this is a nice way of learning, but you should erase the slow motion scenes and do them yourself because it is really hard to see the notes and listen to them at the same time when they are not playing at the same time

  • Thanks your teaching really helped a lot

  • ... During slow-motion you are playing different strings from when you were showing us before and this made me confused.... Especially when you told us to play the 3rd string and you play the 4th string -.-

  • @propwner2012 yeah right it sucks, just do what he says dont worry about the slow motion and it sounds exactly the same for some reason o_O

  • 3:37 you're doing it wrong

  • wtf did slow-mo it instead of just playing slower -.- mixes up the notes

  • @LyrockishKrish check out part three of his tutes... he fixes up part 2 there and shows us how to play it properly

  • Cheer mate! This is fab. Really well taught, best by far on YouTube for this lesson! Keep it up mate :)

  • Great break down method too. Not bad for a Brit. :)

  • Yeah..at about 3:48 there are some inconsistencies between the slow mo, what mike is saying and also the tab. Is it 4th or 5th string (slo-mo indicates 4th). The tab says open 5th then Am 1,2... open5th open 2nd,3rd. Verbally, mike says no open 5th, just Am 1,2 then open 5th, open 2,3. Confused.

  • I have been trying to learn this song for awhile now and am glad I came across this lesson. You have pieced this whole song together for me! You're a great teacher! Thanks!

  • Nice tutorial Mike, certainly helped me, cheers

  • @FantomOfFear He corrects himself in the 3rd video.

  • I have been playing guitar for 1 week and I kinda learned the intro..

It is very hard for me to switch between the frets though but I have time and patience on my hands to learn it all!

  • can someone whos been playing guitar for 6 months play classical gas?????

  • @krcolley not unless you started learning 4 months ago

  • @krcolley yep just gnna take a while longer to learn

  • When you play in slowmo, you play different than you said in the vid.. For example, there was not a word about playing D4 string.

  • done*

  • perfect explanations up tilll now. practicing 1 part a day should be enough. i started yesterday an got part 1 basically done just need to speed up when u hit the g and b string and this one is doin. nice one :-)

  • 67 people decided to give up

  • hell yeah,i'm finally at part 2^^

  • Teach the same as you play.

  • correction of part 2 is in part 3

  • correction of part 2 is in part 3

  • the slow motion is confusing me and lots of others, please try to keep what your teaching and what you play the same D:

  • yep. what you play in slow-mo is different from what you just taught

  • nice lessons, but what attracted my attention is you're little speech at the beginning of the lesson where you say that this video was not downloadable instantly, you see, when you put a vid here it's already downloadable, but not all the ppl know how to download it.

  • sorry but I agree i with someone below who said you don't play what u teach. Your finger pattern is different when you start playing it faster

  • Ok, onto part 2

  • Excellent video! Thank you VERY much. Much better than any of the other classical gas instructionals I've seen. Keep up the good work and God bless!

  • 1.1 mill part 1 ,0.3 mill part 2... really weeds out the noobies haha

  • *Great* tutorial. Thank you!

  • thank you very much sir!

    nice series.

  • 4:15-4:18 ur not teaching us that part, and the tab is diffrent. u expect us to learn buy watching the slow motion vid? its kinda difficult :/

  • well the tab is kinda useless since its diffrerent from what ur teaching..

  • I suggest you enter the site indicated in the name of the video available for class 3 but it is well illustrated and with more information is the same teacher, but this video is like a sample of the actual video

  • Yeah, you play something different when you show it in slow motion. As in different to what you show us.

  • why are you picking the 4string in the slomotion ??? is this an other version of playing it ???

  • this vid has lots less views as ppl who tried 1st vid failed at playing this song

  • he actually doesn't play this song note for note. he uses easier techniques but it doesn't sound as good.

  • you keep hitting the 4th string in the slow down but you don't ever tell us to hit the 4th string!!!

  • @LyrockishKrish i was just about to say the same thing

  • notice how this lesson has a lo less views than the first part lol

  • i love the way you learn this song

Jadore comment vous nous apprenez cet musique

    It's seems so simple

  • if you have realplayer you can steal vids off youtube ;p

Thx for all these lessons mike, lol part one was hard enough :-o

  • Check Part three for some corrections for the confusion.

In case you don't want to...

He's missing an open A (fifth string) before you pluck the second and third strings (A and C would be the notes there).

The ending sequence (starting with the 3rd fret on the E string [G] ) goes "6, 4, 3" (in other words as he plays in the video, not how he explains)

  • you shows us how to play it but then when you slowed it down you play it different?! WTF!? i'm getting a bit frustrated by that.

  • The whole lesson is good apart from the two parts your missing from the intro.... But other than that, great job ;)

  • hi mike u have a great channel here,, I'm entering Shawn Cheek's contest.. hope to win it.

  • you say that after you hit the 3rd fret on the g and b string you hit the a string, but when you play it you hit the d. wtf is that?

  • Holy crap this video pisses me off! We have ears you know, we don't need you to explain anything! finally at 4:10 you slowed it down and let us play along. Sorry to be so negative, just rember your talking to a wide audience, who really gives a shit about the guy who did'nt want to use his thumb?

  • LESS YAPPIN, MORE STRAPPIN' !!!

  • Hello! I really liked the Part one video more, because you always explained what you exactly did and you repeated it slowly yourself. That slow motion you did in this video is confusing me. At 3:55 you teach, that you use the open Astring, but you play Dstring second fret in the slowmotion. So what's right? Btw you don't explain the timing exactly for this section. I did'nt watch the next parts yet, but I really hope, they are like part one. Please reply and have a nice day! Rudi

  • good video, except u dont explain everything and u didnt actualy play it slowly u just slowed it down on the computer lol

  • Mike. Struggling with this one. Seems simple enough till I notice that the sound doesn't match the fingers. It's weird and muddy video/sound mismatch. Sorry to complain. The first section was top notch and I could see everything clearly. Of course I promptly forgot everything and had to go back about 6 times so far. No wonder you're up to #2, ha...

  • Thank you so much...this is absolutely the best way for me to learn from a video, and I'm obviously not the only one! Please keep up the good work ~ you're the best!

  • Guys I 'm going to recommend that it is mandantory that you download his tab for this as well because he plays it according to the tab, however for some reason he has left tiny bits out in both of the first videos. But when you use the tabs in conjunction with the video, it is very clear and easy.

  • thanks coldufo.. u r right.. its gets lot clearer once u look at the tabs..

  • I recommend advanced players skipping to vid 3.

  • amazing..... really

  • Thanks, good job. But.. Why from 4:10 your thumb picks the fourth string, whilst when you explain the same part a few seconds before the thumb only picks the fifth and sixth strings??

  • thank man you rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • first video was far better.... cant figure it out, what you play.

  • listen man, this is free stuff, so stop complaining...

if you can't figure it out, than maybe this is not for you.

  • thank god for you Mike Herberts. I had been playing guitar for about 12 years when I came across your site and I can say I have made more progress in this last 3 weeks than I had in the past 12 years.

  • thanks alot ur so sik. love the sound of this

  • hmmm..sure seems like more strings are being picked than what is explained... or just my imagination??

  • @TheMadmike456 same here, this video could be explained better....!!

  • i love the sound of your strings =>flamencos?

  • thanks alot, took me a while to get the rhythm but great result! cheers!

  • thanks a lot!

  • thank you...

  • your a great guy .....give me boost too. To lear this master piece.great teacher............please keep up good work.

had loads a tutors, but none like this guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he class !!

  • Mike, I learned the basic for this song from you. Doing so gave me a boost to really master this song.

You & your web site of lessons rock my friend.

  • very good less on exept i liked the con figuration of the screens it your first one

  • thank you so much for this great lesson!

  • I follow so well until he uses slo-mo. Were he to actually play slowly instead of slowing down the vid, his tutorials would be 100% better

  • all good apart from that god dam fucking speech bubble at the top

  • Man ...A great lesson...you´re a really good teacher...keep it going....amazing...and a lot of thanks...

  • I'd have to check the tabs but it looks like you're plucking the d string with your thumb in the slow section, gah!! Still very useful though. Thanks.

  • you are right

  • THANK YOU

    U R GOD!

    lol

  • thanks for your help playing this song i know its very hard to teach something, especially when it comes automatic to u but ive been learning pieces of this song from many sources and this has been very helpfull for me even though i still dont know what an a minor is yet!

  • hey mike..

just wanted to let you know I have learned this whole song.. most of it was done here watching your tutorial.. A lot of people of all ages like this little bit, plus I have a lot of fun playing it. Thank you mike

  • Wow, never thought I could do this perfect song, but thanks to you I can. Thank you very much. 5 star rating ofcourse.

  • thanks again

  • its a bit unclear you leave things out and take them for granted.... maby its just me becouse i not that good :P

  • 01:59 - whole beginning section

02:31 - the part which the lesson is about

02:55 - he breaks it down

    04:11 - shown slowly

  • Hi,

This is Mike so I guess you bought it from me. If you go back to my site and use the live help button to contact me I'll sort it out for you no problem.

  • You're playing it differently slowly than your are when you teach it. Somewhere in the slow motion you hit the 4th string twice. I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure I see you hit it twice and you mention nothing about it in your explanation.

  • Nevermind, I see you caught that mistake in the next video. Either still sounds good so I like to mix it up with both ways.

  • Great lesson, good work man :)

  • You are a fantastic teacher brother! Keep up a marvelous job!!

  • that was very helpful

    thank you

  • Thanks man, you've been a great help!

  • good video thanks heaps

  • I would like to elaborate on that, because you are good teacher, it's just that the tabs seem to be spot on with the Mason Williams version.

  • the tabs are different then what you're teaching, which one should I follow?

  • which one do you prefer?

    Mike

  • the tabs

  • @bpkenyon Dude I know what your saying how the tabs are different ! what is described in the video does not match the footage. It looks like footage from part one

  • Thanks for the upload! Your guide has been very helpful.

  • is it just me or does he show you one way and then does it differently when he plays it in slow mo. I cant get this part, can any one give me any hints.

  • watch the 3rd vid

  • I think so too

  • i went to part 3 and it gives you a little more info but still kinda confusing i like when he goes on real time but very slow. I don't like the super slow mo he has b/c it looses me.

  • This helps alot its getting me better at finger picking. Thanks.

  • your good, thanks dude

  • thanks for the lesson

  • hey mike

your lesson helped me to crack this peace.. took me awhile, but I got it down now. it took me a little over two weeks to learn. Thank you mike.

  • i got this part down too.

  • love your work, man

    helped so much!

  • thanks so much man your sick as, keep it up

  • oh man this is really good!! learnt in a week an two days thanx!!

  • good videos, but A MONTH LEARNING IT!?! what the hell?? maaabey 1 weak, 2 weaks if you dont practice every day, but come on, 1 month???

    but, excelent lesson

  • well I guess u need a month to play it in the orginial speed without any mistakes ... but even then a month is kinda much^^

  • what program you using to mkae 2 videos come

  • Please, romance "anonimous" class..Thanks

  • muchas gracias por la clase, master

  • At 3:30 he says we put the finger back down and play the two strings but when hes playing it his finger is up???? And i dont think he plays the same as the tabs. Its annoying because i try to play what he says but it doesnt sound right.

So does anyone know if the finger is up or down??

  • i think it's up because it doesn't sound right down, i also think he didn't explain this lesson as good as part 1 but i got it after about 10 mins

  • loool i spent a long time trying to get it right but then in section three he says he did it wrong so everyone just go to section three so he can clear up the mes.

i think he should say this in the description to stop other pople from suffering.

  • Watch the beginning of lesson three before you practice this too much. He clears up a mistake that he made.

  • you're very good and well done, except this sounds quite different to the version i myself have...

what artist are you covering with this one?

  • download guitar pro and then find a file of that song-there are tabs and notes...

  • Thank you very much for these easy to follow lesson's. your a good teacher.

  • Great lesson's. Thanks for posting.

  • i learned this part in like 5 mins im gonna finish this song today if i memorize it:D

  • Excellent!

But it's a pitty that after only 3:25 the Part Two video fails, stopping.

Isn't there any way of fixing the video so that we can watch it completely?

    Thanks.

    Mair

  • i agree. it's played differently in slow motion. i'm assuming we're to play it as he did in slow mo. he probably just skipped a piece as its certainly all muscle memory for him at this point.

  • Why in slomo you play the 4th string?

  • dude he is not making it to complicated he is an amazing teacher ive never fingerpicked im picking this up so fast and im 14

  • u r making it too complicated!!!

  • If your having trouble with this segment, chances are ou should quit trying, its really quite simple.

  • slaughterofthesoul! you are a complete tosser... is someone finds something a bit tough they just need to practice a bit more and be given encouragement... May your death be an excruciating one

  • totally lost with part 2 whats going on its only short but what mike says he does not do he hitting 4th string and he is hitting 6th string 2nd fret at end in the slow mo s nailed first part can anyone break this down 3rd part does not sort it out either or am i been daft

  • all right guys, watch his third lesson to un-riddle the riddle. There are few version of this song as well. good luck.

  • At 4:13, he is clearly playing two open 4th strings with his thumb which differs from the tab and tutorial. What he says at 3:50 to 3:58 contradicts what he plays later. Bottom line, I think you can play it either way....but it is confusing.

  • Yes! he did the same kind of thing in his first tutorial (play it differently). Makes it hard to learn.

  • this guy teachs very well, but you can also find classical gas on guitar pro on google as well if you want to practice off youtube as well.

  • slo mo part wasnt reallyy that helpful :S

  • The camera angles help a lot. Thank you!

  • I hate to be "pickie" but you aren't playing what you are teaching. As a beginner trying to get this right, it is very confusing to me. I hate to try and figure out what sounds pretty ok, thinking, dang, I could have gotten it perfect if only...

  • i was really confused when you said to put the finger down but you played it open...

  • once again gr8 lesson. its so much easier to learn with someone showing you step by step

  • look at part 3 if you're confused it explains what he did

  • It doesn't make any sense what you tell us and what you show us :S ... you play extra strings in the video but when you do the tutorial it's a whole lot different :S did you cut pieces or someting?

  • great lesson man, very helpful. this song rocks

i think its really funny how there are about 350,000 less hits then the 1st lesson. I guess people never made it this far.

    Thanks

  • Great video. But... is it me or are you picking the 4 string with your thumb although you don't show it in your step by step demonstration? Thanks for the response. I enjoy your lessons.

  • hey, great lesson again, however a bit confusing towards the end but i managed to get it, any one who doesn't get it after 4:13 just keep replaying the bit where its slow and not in context, i managed to get it there.

  • Seems kinda redundant to leave it on loop at the end. Still, good lesson. It took a little thinking at the end but I got it.

  • iskrux is right, it seems to loop over and over and u didnt really cover what to do after u play the 3rd fret on 6th string, does anyone kno?

  • I think what you do is 2 arpeggios: 6th@3rd fret, 4th, 3rd and then 6th@2nd fret, 4th, 3rd. Then finish with an empty 6th.

  • thanks a lot now i finally got that tricky part we all owe u

  • I dont get it, after 4:13 it seems to be on a loop.

You dont show what to do after playing the sixth string, third fret

  • Error; 3:54 5th string

    then at 4:14 it's the 4th...

  • well hi i just wanna say ..... can you show us the technique insted of talking so much so less talking and more lerning thank by the way

  • ok there is a really confusing part:

after the the hammer on hammer off part you say put the index finger back on and the play the third and then the second string, however then after doing it like that once, the next few times you do it without the index finger back on (so at first you play 2 1 and then 2 0)????

  • mhm a wee bit confuzzled

  • rayrayray1961 um i have lernt all of my songs and my private teacher has praised me for wat iv lernt so huhhhhhhh unh hey retard

  • dude ive been tryin 2 learn thus 4 years n this is really movin me on weth it thanx

  • this is really helpful thanks

  • Im a little confuse.. when you go through the steps 1 by 1 you don;t mention playing the 4th string.. but i can see you playing it on the 5-6th
