I love the cover comment and it explains why Johnny and Hogan hit it so well with a weaker right hand grip. The right hand grip V at impact is covering and pointing to the left shoulder. Bammm!! 3 right hands....tap in birdie...
I am a single digit golfer who is a little inconsistent. This makes some much more sense to me than all the other golf-speak. Coming from a baseball background the hand position kind of clicks with me.
johnny miller like many golf players and teachers have a certain understanding of the golf swing . There is value to his knowledge . Simply because he may not get everything correct based on your understanding of the golf swing does not mean he doesn't have valuable insight . You got what you paid for . It was free
This is a video for advanced golfers....not beginners. I think everything he is say is very concise and well supported. His main point?....Impact position!!! Too many people just try to hit the ball rather understand that they need to commit to a SHOT SHAPE!! Once you understand this, your game will improve. He is not recommending that you manipulate your hands. He is giving you the overall explanation of what different shots FEEL like. I dig it. It has helped me.
His advise in the last 2 minutes, where to use the hands to control a draw, face, straight, will kill the game of may beginners. If you don't already do a proper pivot and weight transfert, trying to use the hands this way your dead. Slice city!
You need to have very quiet hands at the start of the downswing to be able to use his tips. But he also had a video for that called gravity golf or similar... which was REALLY a good video.
Some say Miller is giving bad advices, but I think mostly, he's giving good info and very advanced tips, but some of his tips can help mid to low handicapper go lower.
But, since so many people are on the negative, I would say this; If someone doesn't understand how to release the club at impact like he advices, showing the same people how to do it with a tennis racket doesn't help at all. If this isnt done at golf, the same person will rarely do it in other similar sports with similar release.
I never said Miller was not a good player. But he says things that are complete nonsense. They defy physics and common sense. Just because he was a great player does not mean he has great knowledge of swing. Ben Hogan would laugh at some of crap Miller comes up with. Miller isz a complete idiot
@littlebigtrain Johnny Miller, once ranked second in the world on Mark McCormack's world golf rankings in both 1974 and 1975 behind Jack Nicklaus, winner of the US Open and British Open-Maybe he should take lessons from you.
great info. Miller always seems to come to his conclusions with extensive due diligence and real, objective, analytical honesty. He as a native intelligence that's pretty rare. Its why he's such a good golf analyst as well.

crazy.. who draws a tennis shot?... that is a very rare shot. He is trying to equate a top spin shot with draw.... absolutely nothing like the same

Miller is awesome and knows what he is talking about. The reason many people don't like him is because he is not afraid to speak his mind.

Respond to this video... Miller speaks his mind yes. Problem is he has NO idea what he is talking about or is DEAD wrong on an issue. He is terrible
