  • So this is part 1 and part 1 is part 3.....

  • what a stupid design, just put charge handle on the group carrier like in many other successful rifles. M16 is a complete disaster in terms of army weapon: expensive, fragile, unreliable, difficult to manufacture(mass production will suffer if demanded in big number), but thanks to civil market stayed alive and is being described as some nice weapon system which, in fact, is not.

  • when i saw the 3:55 i imagined it was a real body and it was disgusting, weapons are disgusting we all would be a lot better without them and the goverment that is being sponsored by these "making killing equipment" companies

  • @esh325 I have read certain lots had a high calcium carbonate "load" to help neutralize the acid causing gas tube fouling but also troops would leave 1 in the chamber the case would swell combined with non chromed bore and very slight taper of the round would cause the 1st round to fail to eject. It takes a lot of rounds to foul a gas tube like that and only came up during extreme high rd count testing.

  • self cleaning wtf my dad was in vietnam he had a m14 most of the war and the tale end he got a m16 he loved it light and more ammo but you had to keep it clean and he said it was very leathal

  • my grandpa was in vietnam and he carried the m60

  • Shit that's the main problem with the AR15 now 80%+ of the manufacturers make an out of spec product which causes feeding issues and jams. Know what your buying only a handful of manufacturers make a close to mil spec product.

  • And continues to be a problem in the civilian AR 15 world. 80% of all AR brands build a product out of spec and cut corners making an unreliable product.

  • Main reason for m16 failure when 1st deployed.

1: lack of chroming the chamber/barrel (which means it was made out of spec)

2: switching the powder in the ammo( subject to swelling in the humid climate and produced more fouling)

3: lack of maintenance (issued cleaning kits)

1 and 2 were the main problems...that's what happens when you build something out of spec.

  • @elox02 A chrome lined barrel helps, but it wouldn't have solved the problem make as it was the gas tube that was getting clogged. The powder switch made the difference. Ball powder itself is not bad, it's just the particular ball powder they used had high amounts of calcium and the gas port tube would get clogged.

  • ACR is better!!!

  • @PSIX20 site your source? Some tank operators were allowed to keep them for a short while as opposed to using a side arm but most all captured aks were turned in. The average infantry soldier would not drop there issue fully supported weapon (fully supported mean ammo, mags ,parts) for an enemy weapon. The deficiencies were quickly fixed and wouldn't have needed to be if they issued them to spec in the 1st place.

  • Greate rifel?? LoL?

American soldiers drops they M16 and picking up AK-74.

  • So bringing items to maintain your rifle like a true operator should to a "war zone " is silly huh...? Idiot...i dont care what weapon you have you have to maintain it. Also the m16 can fire a combat load easy eithout maintenance most solders only carry less then 300 rds (10 mags) Also the problems with the 1st m16 was with the ammo they changed the powder. Soldiers running around with one in the chamber that ammo would swell and get a failure to extract. Also better extractors now with 5coil b

  • @PISIX20 site your source? Do a little homework although in small amounts that may have happened but no trained soldier is going to drop an issue weapon with supply line support for an enemies weapon with no support that makes an enemy weapons sound. Quit acting like. 90yo woman and regurgitating old wives tales. Once again site your source

  • @Vexzm but still its crazy to bring cleaning kit in a warzone

  • @2:18 the realiability is almost zero... but it is still a good weapon (for sports hunting type)

  • @hardheadrab but that was before they chrome lined the barrel loosened upp the tolerances added the forward assist and recomended frequent cleaning.

  • Lesson: weapon system you test MUST BE the weapon system you deploy!

    Ammo, kit, EVERYTHING!

  • my grandfather was in the Vietnam war and used a M-14 and in his opinion he favoured the m-14 compared to the m16 due to combat efficiency.

  • @100YardFumble nice

  • @100YardFumble thank him for his service. and the m-14 is more like a sniper rifle, with 1 shot at a time, its deadly, but full auto the m14 will go all over the place, the m16 is the best of both worlds, u can snipe with it, and clear rooms with it on full auto. also i hear the army didnt bother buying cleaning kits fo m16, thats proly the main reason it gets a bad rap, because it has to be clean!

  • Now THIS is a true assault rifle.

  • hey AR15Truther2 ur 3/3 vid is 2/3, and likewise how about changing?

  • Seen all three parts it was nice and thank god they told the Vietnam horror story god dam.

    God Bless those veterans. =']

  • @SnkyCyanTurtle rite on :)

  • 2:40, 50 rd mag?

  • @AgentMorris94 I think it's 60.

  • No cleaning kits?

I am a huge M-16/AR-15 fan. I've shot them for over 20 years and own them to this day. I'd trust my life to it. But no cleaning kits?

    My God..... those poor bastards.
