why must emo's latch on to every sad sounding song, and use such phrases like

If you have a broken heart the best way to cure it is

a) Get a therapist (a doctor, ect. who can help you with antidepressant, sth. like that)

b) > TALK TO SOMEONE <, a friend, family, ect, who understands your feelings. This helps a lot.

Exactly, i think fans of bands, not the bands them self think that the music depicts self harm. Which is usually wrong as the band is probally trying to exaggarate their emotions. Self harm is shown as good on certain videos, i don't get it. Of corse it has a good side, otherwise people wouldn't do it, but it has way to many more bad sides - if your thinking about doing stuff like that - find help. Online or what ever.
