The shop on the right hand side at 4:39 was my grocery in the 80s-- bought it from D & W Maclean (Willie Kirk) and operated as C A Ramsay Licenced Grocers from 83-87. I played in a band from there called Sound Of Sleat with Jim Penney, Sandra Henderson, and others. Was a wonderful time.
@murcus1 To be sure! Funny hearing about them after all these years-- was a good time then, even though the herring were done and fishing was getting difficult. Still had a lot of boats in the harbour. I was on the "committee" with Willie Kirk, George Lawrie, and others who worked to get steam back on the line and to get the museum started. Delivered stores from the shop in all kinds of REALLY bad weather when folks didn't want to come out to the shops! More than a few pints at the Chlachain!
That was fantastic. Mallaig also one of my favourite places. Have been there many times since childhood and can remember going there with my parents when the road was just about single track towing a caravan? Was also there before getting on the ferry to Rhum. Unfortunately Mallaig has no good camping places, or does anyone know of any?
Thanks for that, one of my favourite places also, I would like to be there in any weather, it is a bit rough around the edges but it is a working town and I like that.

Are there many English people living in Fort William??
Thurstonsfunfair 2 years ago
Don't think they have a higher percentage than anywhere else in Scotland.
