Incase you haven't figured it out yet. Your supposed fast travel riverwood, then to the cave. But even then it gets confusing, on your way from riverwood, to the cave, you should find a giant tower full of bandits, if you've found that on your way, your on the right path.

Yeah man when your climbing up mountains and you see alot of rocks try to look for a clear white path on the mountain using your map. Usually there are paths that lead to the marker. I tried many times to take a shortcut but the rocks always get in the way, so then I have to go around but you should find the path if you go around the mountain.
