I am also surprised you do not know who Imam Ali, the cousin and son in law of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and husband to Fatemeh, the daughter of prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He is one of the MOST important people (if not the most) in Islam after prophet Muhammad. He was one of the first people to learn under prophet Muhammad and convert to Islam (mainly because he lived with prophet Muhammad).

Sufis are not fanatic, in fact they are the EXACT opposite. Most fanatics hate sufis and a lot of times try to kill sufis. Sufis are very pacifist. To fanatic muslims sufis are seen as heretic because sufis dance and sing and even drink wine, when all fanatics see these three things as heretic. There were many famous Sufi Darvishes, the most famous being Rumi, Hafez, Shams Tabrizi and many more.

@arashzlord The king of Saints, among saints is Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani(ra). Shah Shams(ra) through whom Rumi(ra) was enlightened was enlightened by Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani(ra). All of the 4 greatest Islamic scholars were Ahl-e-Tassawaf(Sufis).
