  • EVEN PHANTOM OF THE OPERA WAS MADE IN CHINA (look at everyone who's playing besides keyboard)

  • @vierdus So the electric bass player is even Chinese? Man.

  • good young people doing good love you doug, tell carolynn i love her

  • I'm playing this in 8th grade band. It's extremely difficult.

  • 18 people like raoul

  • @littlelottie419 fuck 18 peoples are love pink floyd

  • I'm doing this for the senior graduation ceremony(: and my school is doing this musical next year. It's a challenge, but one i'll accept nonetheless:)

  • hey i respect all you young players stat right on right,,,,,,

  • dude this shit like crap to the music i play at skol.....

  • @littledevil311 Wait... was that supposed to make sense? What does that even say?! XD

  • @littledevil311 looks like you are failing school from the way you type.

  • OMG I played this in my first year of the High school Orchestra when i was 11. This brings back so many memories.... 2nd Violin section #FTW

  • echoes..

  • @iathghlas except that this is actually good...

  • I'm an eighth grade violinist and I would KILL to get this whole arangement of music!

    Beautifully done, BRAVO!!!

  • i can play better for the horn part...

  • Go trombone !!!!

  • With out a doubt this is the best composition of the Phantom of the Oprea I've ever heard. !!!!!!!!!!

  • nice one trumpet at 2:30 !!

  • If only I saw the movie before I played this in my orchestra. x.x

  • Wish I was them!

That would be so fun! I'm a bassist I love this movie and music!

  • 2:30 - critical moment for everyone :D

  • OMG, they totally skipped Music of the Night. How could they??? other than that, this is great. :)

  • I was the happiest person alive when my school's orchestra director told us we would be playing songs from Phantom of the Opera. (I've been obsessed with Phantom of the Opera for a while now. <3) It should sound really cool as a string orchestra of almost 70 people. :D

  • My middle school's orchestra is playing Phantom of the Opera medley. I am a 2nd violin. it is so much fun!:)

  • @musicgirl606 Cool :) good luck. I'd love to learn to play violin one day(maybe after army)

  • @musicgirl606 Lol, me 2! but im like a 1st violin!

  • This music is a cheap copy of Pink Floyd's "Echoes". Boooooo!

  • @AfroPoli ur comment is a cheap copy of what they said on some website thats run by incompetents

  • @institutionalized22 What the hell are you talking about? Use your ears, dummy.

  • @AfroPoli the songs are in the same key however phantom is in no way "a cheap copy" really the only similarities lie in the fact that they are in the same key. the main line in Echoes has one interval that is exactly the same but that is it.

  • @charlieparker1 Dear friend, it is not only the key or an interval. It is the MAIN THEME, entirely, that's the problem.

  • @AfroPoli Also only one part is like it. The Daa Daa daa part. The beginning. So how is it a cheap copy?

  • @MyArtIsLoved731 Because it is the main theme, isn't it...

Had he taken the Daa da da daa from the beginning of Beethoven's 5th you would probably agree.

  • @AfroPoli But the Daa Daa Daa from Beethoven's 5 wouldn't match up and then i would believe that Andrew Lloyd Webber stole it. There can be a possibility that Andrew thought it himself or he heard and liked it. It's just in two good songs. The rest of the song is nothing alike. This song was written for a musical and that for an album. Also i wasn't be crude or impolite, why would you call me an ill-bred?

  • @MyArtIsLoved731 Uhm, because you told me to shut up. But never mind.

  • @AfroPoli Well except for the fact that this is in a opera? And people with amazing voices sing to it. So shush up. Not a cheap copy..

  • @MyArtIsLoved731 Ill-bred.

  • @AfroPoli not a cheap copy, because this is actually good. And even if it were a cheap copy, if you copy something a cheap bang like pink floyd made, and give to an orchestra, the result will inevitably be better than the original.

  • @0B0Eriec Listen, if you do not understand anything about music, why do you post?

  • WHAT IS THIS PIECE'S NAME?

  • @mthrasher408 you've got to be kidding..

  • @StripedShirtsSS no seriously, i started listening to orchestra a while back but I'm not a genius at the topic. my apologies. can any one tell me?

  • drums put me off.... sry

  • so what grade is the keyboard player at 1:30 in?? =P

  • @miiwiiplay hahaha you funnay

  • @miiwiiplay maybe hes in liek the same grade as all of them, but i think he grew a mustache / beard and pubic hair b4 them all hahahahhaha

  • q1wickeddangel, yes I´m in the youth orchesetera of the BORG St.Pölten now. We also play that song, but a bit slower and with one part more, it´s beatiful, we need 15 minutes xD I´m the drummer what you´ve played?

  • I miss playing this in my old high school orchestra! The music is just so beautiful!

  • lol at 2:29

  • I know that this score was written with drums, but I don't think it needs that. The music is too beautiful. Bravo !

    Nice sound !

  • 2:29 is really bad indeed. The rest is nice. it's okay :)

  • Dumbass 3:06 is an oboe

  • 3:06 Clarinet Fail

  • 2:29 = Fail.

  • @tenderlaceration

    Cut them some slack!

  • @tenderlaceration

    They tried their best :L

  • @Rachaellou1996

Didn't say it was terrible. Just that those kids need to get cut out of orchestra. I used to be in orchestra and as SOON as someone messed up in the last practice before the concert, they would be cut from playing in the concert.

  • @tenderlaceration

    Thats so stiff!!

im in an Orchestra now and i love it,

and if any of us go wrong all we have to do is go over that little section and learn it again!

    :)

  • @Rachaellou1996

Ahah yeah. That's why I quit Orchestra and joined Choir. We have more fun and definitely a lot more freedom. AND we don't have to carry instruments around :D

  • geil... einfach nur geil.

  • I don't like this version :(

and also the performance isn't good...

  • It would like to know of where is this young orchestra?

  • wow

  • we did this song in my orchestra...just wasnt as fast

  • man it's nice to hear pink floyd's echoes being played by an orchestra................ oh wait

  • We are playing this in our ochestra and it sounds better then this but this is still nice. I lOVE IT!!!!!!

  • can you post your orchestra's version? I would love to hear it :)

  • no matter how many versions I hear of this, it always gives me goosebumps..

  • @Jill4ChrisRedfeild omg same

  • me and my 7th grade orchestra r playin this in our spring concert

  • I played this song when I was in 7th grade too!! ^^

  • Im IN seventh grade now, and im playing it!

  • Awesome!!

  • Concertmasters are good! I love the part where they play think of me.

  • i love this song :)

  • the onlying thing thats wrong

is the lack of emotion that the players have , this piece needs to be played with emotion

oh and some ones out of tune

    but its ok

  • be kind - it's a youth orchestra, they aren't preofessionals! Mind you, they are very hampered by the fact that the orchestration is very very rubbish - they have a keyboard player, they could have always done what the real show does and just simply play the orchestration around a tape track. In the b'way show, the percussion (looped drum track) and the organ are a backing tape. The orchestration around it is live.

  • ahhhhhhh i love orchestra music! and phantom of the opera just makes it even better! :D

  • saxophones ftw

  • Comment removed

  • 6:00 gives me the chills...

  • you must be joking. eh it was fine at first until I figured out who

  • you kidding? i played this in orchestra and the drums made every thing better! :D

  • aweman1....

    thats a tuba :)

  • whoa wats that instrument at 5:07? its at the top and looks like a messed up french horn

  • you fruitcake, everyone knows that the backbone of every good band and orchestra is the drums, without the drums, where is your beat, your rythym, and the brass and woodwinds add stuff strings cant.....bonehead

  • If you listen closely, you can hear the timpani

  • basses make for a exelent backbone, in my opinon.

  • We have a purely strings orchestra. No drums. We get along just fine. The conductor has the beat, all you need to do is watch and count.

  • basses and the drums are always the basic of the music, and without them, you can hear that something is missing. and the rythm drives on them. that will never change.

  • String orchestras have such a depth that is missing. The percussion section are an important part of an orchestra, just as the woodwind or brass section is. They all help add different depths and colours to the music, as this is very descriptive, colourful music.

  • I agree, strings remind me of the "voice". I prefer they play together

  • amazing i wish our band sounded as good as this!

  • 1 tuba man!!! That's rediculus! Our band has 1 tuba(Me), and were in 7th grade! I like the organ though.

  • wow how young were they??¿¿?? they are amazing i wish our band was that good we just got this song and i love to sing it and play it on the piano but on my flute it is harder! :D

  • faggit

strings are for losers and BTW band did an awesome job so quit bragging

  • what an asshole! woodwind and brass especially are required for a piece written for modern orchestra! it has been a distinct characteristic of the orchestra from the beginning of the romantic era.

    p.s. bass trombone rules! lol

  • nono

ps : french horn rules lol

  • Normally I would agree, but the band did a good job of not overpowering the strings. The percussion. The percussion parts of these songs is what makes them unique and gives them an "Andrew Lloyd Weber" feel.

  • That´s amazing. Wow. The best song is 'Think of me'.

  • fagotttttttttttt, u my friend are a tool,

u should quit playing an instrument

  • what orchestra is this?

  • I'm also guessing it sounded better live cause camaras have a hard time picking up sound

  • it was good could have done without that trumpet or french horn accediantly playing that one note during the pause before think of me but it was great besides that

  • OMG SO AMAZING :O

  • amazing peformance:]

  • Amazing, the music sounds almost horrifying. That's what brings my ears to the music (And I mean horrifying in a good way, so please don't get me wrong).

  • my orchestra group is going to play this song. any ways this is really amazing

  • outstanding peformance!

    loved it! :)

  • wow it sounds great:) i hope we will play it as good as this:)

  • I love this arrangement. The orchestra sounds great. Keep it up.

  • It's really great, but the quality of the sound is not the best: Well, never mind! It's great enough- 5stars

  • whith my orchestra we're playing it too.

The cello's arrangement are cool! =)

    I'm loviiin it <3

  • french horn @ 7:19...sweeeeettt!!!!!

  • What a overly creative person, who could create such an original piece? I absolutely love the intro of this song, so do I love the main riff from Pink Floyd's Echoes from 'the 1971 album Meddle.

  • wow.

    our band played this arrangement.

    but YOUR band.

    =]

    is excellent.

  • excellent balance and use of every instrument. i am thoroughly impressed.

  • OMG I MEANT TO SAY SHIFTS uh yeah

  • lol

  • omg we're playing this in orchestra and just go it today first violin has a ton of shits O_O ill get it eventually

  • lol, i bet we can all guess which kid is yours =)

btw, they did a really good job

  • You're all amazing. ^^

But...what happened to Music of the Night?

    o_O

  • Amazing Music! Awesomical! Some of the best music I've heard. (PS Great recording, recorder)

  • Wow. Simply, "wow."

  • amazing.

that's about all I have to say.

    Just amazing.

  • were playing that!!!!!

  • gosh they have the violas and cellos switched gosh

    btx cello rox!!XD!!

  • woo!

    cellos! xD!

  • the begining reminds me "echoes" by Pink Floyd

  • this is the most awsomest preformance ever, it was a plaesure to hear this and i hope i will be able to play this some day [i play the cello]

  • at 2:30 nice goin trumpet....

  • I think it's supposed to do that...

  • Beautiful! Bravissimo!

  • clarinet solo for angel of music- great tone, but that solo should just float over the accompaniment- accompaniment was a bit too loud or clarinet was too soft. sounded pretty good on the whole though.

  • i play at 0:40 u can hear the xylophone

  • 44-and 47 skipped

i played marimba on this in my orchestra

  • not to be mean but the skipeed measures 44-47 on Phantm of the Opera Overture.

  • really really good!!! there was that one trumpet extra note at the end of Phantom! but it was awsome!!!

  • WHY ndoes it miss out music of the night and jump straight to All I ask of yuou??!

  • Oh wait, you can see bassons at 1:18!

  • never mind i found them

  • Bassoons? where are they

  • What! No Bassoons! SCANDAL!

  • excellent!!!, beautiful!!! ^^

  • sounds luvly

  • we're playing tonight.

sounds awesome. and i'm only in the 7th grade :]]

    GO SECOND VIOLIN!!!!!

  • Chea we playeed this my ninth grade year. its a fun long song. 2nd Violin Ftw

  • This is really well played, but some people maybe missed the key changes. I know I do when we play if for our orchestra (clarinet YEAH!!!) but if only one person misses it, it is still noticeable. I like the addition of the piano keyboard. We don't have it. It's a nice touch.

  • yeh this is easy stuff, epic tho

  • my orchestra played this song. it was the easiest!!!!!

  • You don't make any sense.

  • OMG n00b!!!

    selfp0wned.

this song is NOT from pink floyd, its from an opera! noob!

    "Phantom of The Opera"

  • The very beginning is EXACTLY the same as in Pink Floyd's "Echoes"... That's what he meant so I guess you're the "n00b" here...

  • OMG noob!

  • go cry loser!

  • I know Echoes in and out as I've been listening to it since about 1972. This is NOTHING AT ALL LIKE ECHOES!!!!!

  • ur a fucking retard, the part at the start of phantom of the opera sounds exactly like the guitar after each verse.

  • I love nice pleasant intelligent responses like this (If we were face to face you wouldn't dare talk to me that way). Sorry but apparently you know little about music. The similarity between the two is tenuous at best. Are you a musician? I think not.

  • Nicely done!

But I perfer concert band to orchestras, mainly because I like a variety of wind and percussion instruments.

    Alto Clarinets Rule!

  • But still, the orchestra still doesn't sound right without the strings.

  • i agree with both of you,

there are a lot of clarinet players that reply on youtube.

    (GO TRUMPET!!!)

  • Ah I like the part Think of Me. It was beautiful :]. My orchestra was gonna play this but yeah we cant ckuz one of our drum majors kinda ruined it :|.

  • all they're missing is the organ!

  • There is a keyboard in there probably playing the organ part.

  • My orchestra tried playing this . . . Didn't work out too well.

  • WOW jaw to floor....nicely done...

  • WOW!

  • "Think Of Me" was beautiful! especailly the flute playing the theme. Stupendous!!!! and when it got to ig instruemtasl it was Marvellous reminded me of the Theatre!! but would of ben good with out the drums.. sorry

  • the phantom of the opera is really excellent. I like the tempo but make sure watch you your band director. Somebody was sticking out in the introduction when the rest orchestra is in the rest. I think it's a clarinetist.

other than that, I give it a Unanimous Superior.

    Very excellent orchestra.
