  • Incredible to hear a pop music singer remain entirely on key!

  • Petula is such a wonderful singer. She touches my heart with her voice. I'm only 19, but 60's and 70's is my favorite era. I also like 40's and 50's!!! 80's are ok...just not like from years before. These old songs had such magic and love without sex or drugs or alcohol being incorporated into it. Sigh, I want to go back in time!

  • Pett Clark! Love her so much! This is my favorite song of hers. My wife and I got married to this song. (The lyrics were part of our vows)..

  • This is classic music!! Miss Pett!!!

  • i remember when elvis started back in vegas, she was reported to have been standing on her chair screaming for the king... gotta love another elvis fan.

  • My favorite of the many great Clark songs.

  • I just love the fabulous Petula Clark

  • Loved this song when I first heard it on TV searched for years for it Great. Love all of her song what a great artist Thanks

  • now an adopted frog

  • Class & simple elegance

  • Petula's live vocals are (as always) great, but the band! God! Listen on decent equipment: they barely know the melody, vary the beat so that Pet claps to herself to re-sync with them when they slow; and the backing singers can't decide whether to be sharp or flat.

  • @csm1701 It's probably Ed Sullivan's orchestra.

  • Bravo, Petula, England best singer. Forever I love you and your songs.

  • I love her voice!

  • Yeah I totally love this song even though it was made 12 years before I was born. Her pronunciation is perfect and the words just roll out.

Considering what she has achieved, she is surprising quite un-famous.

I guess her private life is too innocent for the tabloids.

    A true roll model.

  • Petula Clark's music was one of my fondest memories of growing up in the sixties. She was a pretty English lady who sang catchy pop love songs. Ya can't get better than that!!

  • Petula can really belt out a song..what a great performance..I love it..

  • Petula Clark was THE SIXTIES. What a voice!

  • One of the first songs I have ever heard and one of the very best singers.. she always reminds me Karen Carpenter

  • way better than the song today. i love the 60's saw oprah the other night repeat and justin beiber was on with charice. i give charice credit. but justin lord have mercy i don't what the chick see just a guy. but vocally not a billy j. kramer or peter noone.

  • One of the very best.

  • interesting, doesn't seem like she is lip synching to a stereo/record track. lets see a artist try that today :p

  • ..Harkens back to the time when ladies had CLASS... no need for tattoos.Crazy outfits..showing all the skin. SHE ROCKED. How sad that there is so little of her talent and class in the music world today.

  • i have to say. im a fan, it still makes you want to listen 44yrs later

  • I also love this song and Petula's voice. Let's not forget though. She didn't write it. Tony Hatch did. He also wrote, "Downtown". These two songs wouldn't have happened without him!

  • ok...type this in the search-

    Petula Clark opens Toronto CNE

  • gosh...she is mighty cute and supremely

    awesome...she still does good shows...

    check her out-cne2009 opener petula

  • mmm, softer than a sigh(wink) :)

  • so good :)

  • I love music...all kinds...this is my first ever song that I heard and loved. 44 years later and I can go back to my childhood and I still love this song...Thanks Petula

  • Nach wie vor genial. Da die alte Version

(serge1232) in meinem Pflegefallland nicht mehr gespielt werden darf, bin ich sehr "happy" diese

    Darbietung genießen zu dürfen. Danke!

  • Why is there a beeping noise a minute and a half in?

  • This was probably shortly before a break in the programme. The beep was to let Petula know that the coffee was prepared and ready for her to drink after the song. Otherwise there was the danger that she might have added another verse, professional that she is, and her coffee would have been cold.

  • C-L-A-S-S

  • She made a BIG hit from a song she didn't like, sure had us fooled!

  • I didn't know she didn't like the song. This is my favorite of hers. What a catchy and joyous song!!

  • I think it grew on her as time went on.

  • Her singing and voice tone is amazing! I really love the song. I can't believe she didn't like it.

  • Her best!!!

  • Considering she didn't like the song, it must have been a bit of a pain having to sing it everywhere when it then went to the Number One spot on the Billboard charts and in cities all over the US and Canada for a couple of weeks in February, 1966. Just goes to show that you never know WHAT'S going to be a hit, at least not back then, when music was still great.

  • What show was this_on?

    Thanks...

  • Ed Sullivan Show

  • this song was my favorite as a kid way back when and it is still magical thank you wjhmosaenglish03

  • and a faster version

  • nice color version

  • Hark! What's that I hear?? No, not the lame band but the surreptitious copyright holders ofver and Sofa Entertainment/Andrew Solt ripping this fun clip from a 1966 Ed Sullivan show right off of youtube. What stinkers.
