  • I still regularly play this record. I never liked their dance direction but 'Where It Is' is one of my all-time favourite albums. I remember seeing this video on 'The Chart Show' shortly after I started getting into indie music (when indie music actually meant 'independent' rather than subsidiaries of the majors as many 'indie' labels are now).

I saw them play live in this lineup only once - at the Boardwalk in Manchester. They were fabulous. I felt disappointed when they moved into dance.

  • Great great song !!!!!!!!

  • Love this. Got it on DVD transfered from video on the chart show in 1986. He went on countdown didn't he?

  • You can download this album for free on the official Beloved website.

  • where? can't find it there? thx

  • @Lyxinux it's under Downloads. You have to download each track separately. They are the ones that say Unreleased Flim Flam album 1987 next to them.

  • Thank you! But "This means War" is not among them, is it?

(Anyway, I found it somewhere else on the net).

  • just decided this is my favourite song

  • this kind of reminds me of (early) My Bloody Valentine.Like it,and still like Beloved's later pop stuff.Maybe a little like Dinosaur Jr.mixed with Moose?

  • Just amazing......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every angle and mood of this band is excellent and I have never heard a bad song from them. Thanks for posting this oldie.

  • unbelievable song, what a sound, what an era

  • Please, could someone post "A Hundred Words". Thanks.

  • I'm with fizzypops299. Somebody please upload more tracks from their first EP. Man alive is that thing hard to find. But for one brief semester at IU in Bloomington did a DJ pal of mine have a copy, claiming it was the rarest of the rare. This was back in 1990 and I didn't believe him...

  • I love this Song !!!! Beautiful !!!! Thanks for The Beloved, Thanks for Jason93 !!!!

  • Does anyone have "A Hundred Words" or anything else by the early (and better) Beloved?

  • hmmmmmmmmmm he is cute, sexy!! :P

  • Remember seeing this on The Chart Show. Got the 7" of it back at my Mum's house. True classic 80's Indie

  • Anyone who wants to find more obscure bands like this should use soulseek until they can find a hard copy, I've found so many bands that wouldn't even show up on limewire etc.

  • Oh it is so great! I have this album but only Lp though.

  • 86, Saints Preserve Us' es una de las mejores canciones de este genial 12", nadie pensaria que son los mismos de Sweet Harmony' muy buen antecedente de este grupo. Escuchenlo!!!

  • I had just known the Beloved from 'sweet harmony' and 'sun rising'. This song brought tears to my eyes....i'm gonna try to get it off of ebay i like it that much

  • this is my favorite video

  • This was an eye-opener. They could have been a credible indie act but I'm still glad they took the turn they did. Putting my feelers out for an mp3 as we speak...

  • wow! what a great surprise...i have the electronic albums of the beloved..I didn't know that they release a indie guitar album during the 80's...any information about it? any link? is it available?
