  • OMG, I have been a del sol fan and had two already but "WOW", this is the first I have seen anyone do that. Was it hard? How much time and fabrication? How much money? I would to do one like that next year. I give up all the props and nice power band.

  • Nomuken 180sx, I have a 240sx as my rwd car and my beloved crx as the fwd car, I am only okay with fwd if the engine is swappable, and its relatively small, crx won that hands down, the 240 is faster but crx is funner, I hope for a k swap someday

  • just curious. i know alot of people have be doing the k20/24 build and swaps but I did notice in a performance mag a civic hatch back with a FWD 3.5liter from a 4door acura, dont remember the model precisely.

    My question is would that 3.5liter fit in this car??? I think that would be interesting to find out, no...?

  • @funguy7979 it was probably a 3.2 liter from a tsk or tl or cl either a j32 or c32 honda engine. they are able to be swapped into any honda bro, just takes the know how and the time and of course the funding.

  • @bigdaddylovestori I'm positive this was a 3.5liter and not a c32 for sure. The rest I can figure out on my own cause I've already done a few swaps of chevy LS v8's in nissan 240s. Just never done a honda swap.

  • @funguy7979 oh hell man i forgot the new accords come with a 3.5 liter v6 thats most likely what the swap was from, those engines are sohc v6's but they have the i-vtec system, and they make really good power better than the other older 3.2s and 3.0s but in this case the del sol is rear engine and the acure was probably the new tl or tsx man

  • @bigdaddylovestori ..yup, that sounds like it. I knew it was one of the new acura 4door's that I was talkin about. Just couldn't remember the model. Either way I believe it would be sick. That article I was talking about was for a competition of multiple cars from different makers with different setups doing time attack, drift, drag, braking, etc... I know that the del sol is a rear mounted engine style car and that was why i was asking the question. That swap was done to a civic hatchback.

  • @bigdaddylovestori Really?? Dam always thought they were a rear engine mounted car like the MR2's. I admit I have never driven a del sol nor even sat in one. For some reason I thought they were rear mounted.

  • @maxredgizmo Considering this is a model car that I have never cared about in my life. What does it even matter to you? I prefer V8s. I've played with FWD before but not a del sol. I guess my previous posts here are the ones you didn't read. Had you read them you can see that I do know what certain cars came with certain motors. Normally I'd never look at a del sol because it looks like a chick car but if it was configured for a RWD application then it would be fun for drift and time attack.

  • KaBlazin2010, I used to like preludes the body style was always good but I just dont care about the f or h series engines their disposeable because of the block sleeves, if preludes were rwd like the silvias and had a f20c, k20, or evej a turbo d series I probably would have bought one, its just too damn big to be fwd, I only

  • @sk8ersr20 No rear end because it isn't Front Engine RWD. It is transverse mounted Mid-engined RWD, like an MR2 or NSX.

  • @TrackSol u fucking tard, where r u gonna stick the axle into if u got the regular roller bearing assembly on that backing plate on those macpherson struts? u needa at least fit double wishbones onto those rear strut mounts or w/e that u can put in the same backing plate as the front ones

  • @davidzzz94 No need to be an asshole. But regarding your comment, a FWD Kseries car doesn't have double wishbones on the front does it? No! It has the axles going through the knuckle and the knuckle is mounted to the macpherson strut. This RWD cars is mounted like an MR2 or NSX. They mounted the engine in the rear like it would be mounted in the front and used suspension in the rear just like it would be on the front of an RSX or EP3 Civic.

  • @TrackSol all fwd chasis after 88 came with double wishbone in the front, your already stupid enough to put the word knuckle and macpherson strut in the same sentence. whats one top of the knuckle? a ball joint.. but on what? a wishbone shaped camber arm. whats that thing that connects the shock to the lower control arm, which the axles passes thru? a wishbone shaped shock fork! when you have 2 wishbone shaped main components in the suspension, what do you call it? double wishbone :) dumbass

  • @davidzzz94 and for your dumbass FYI, you think everything would be just soo easy, which obviously shows you havent had any experiences what so ever. yes you can cut a hole in yer del sols trunk and weld in the mount arms and put the engine in transversaly mounted. but my real question was how have they fitted a hub in the trailing arms in the real for the axle to move the hub. and you just had to be a smart ass and start telling me about honda's "non-2wbone" front suspension

  • @TrackSol and also also for your dumbass, when you do a K swap with no fabrication, you dont even fucking touch the front suspension components, you get custom made hasport axles to fit the hub, thats ALL, so i dont know why your dumbass had to be so smart and tell me about a "k-series honda front suspension not 2wbone" and telling me about rear transversla mount i learned the since the day i could talk, i dont give a flying fuck, i am the dick, your the pussy, and you really dont know shit btw
