Too bad the band at CSUF is being made "obsolete" or unwanted by the asshats with the stereo at all the games. One of the reasons I stopped going (that and they stopped serving beer).

Seems my comment I was supposed to reply to disappeared, so I guess I should start over.

First I will once again talk about looks. I do not enjoy looking out at people who love music being forced to keep everything inside and look like the stuck up prick your sounding like. Music was made for ENTERTAINMENT for the musicians and the people listening. I have never seen a jazz, rock, etc band EVER stand like boards and play like robots before. Have you? CONT.

Second, I will talk about 'showing off your shit and show what you are made of'. Who ever said that you can't show people what you are made of without having fun and dancing? There is a very talented drummer at my school who is probably the best drummer I have ever seen, and I've seen rock bands live before. One year he got to play a drum solo at contest during one of our full band songs and you could see the look on the judges faces when he finished on the set and went back to his part. CONT.

Guess what the look was like. You guessed it! It was SURPRISED and IN AWE. That wasn't even as great of a drum solo as he gets to do in pep band either. This drummer is a very laid back Slipknot fan that has actually started head banging to a bell part he made up on spot (this was at SVC Honor Band too). Even after that people were still very impressed at how good he was. People don't care how you look when it is not a concert. Yes, for concerts people think bad thoughts if you show up in jeans.

That is for a concert/contest though. I doubt people who go to see a football/basketball game really care what the pep/marching band looks like. I've seen during college games times where the pep band starts dancing to the music playing. What does that say about the university's director? That he is a fool that doesn't know anything about music. I don't think so. He has a degree in music and doesn't care. I don't believe you have a degree, so you have no room to comment on performance.

some people have PRIDE in there school so that PRIDE is saved for the feild. save the crazy for the stands, thats ware its okay

i enjoy corps marching, but there are times ware the marching band that i am in just lets loose and thats fine too as long as you have some dignity you can march corps, traditional is for people like you that are (for lack of a better term) racist against corps style marching bands, if you dont want to be in a marching band than go ahead and get into one of your jazz or rock bands and leave the rest of us alone

I just supported that people should sometimes let loose and have fun while playing, as you just said you sometimes do as well. Do you realize you just completely flipped 180 after that? I said that on the field you should sometimes let loose and that you never see rock and jazz artists playing stiff as boards when they play. CONT

You said you let loose, but then you turn around and say that if I don't enjoy playing prim and proper 100% of the time then I should go join those artists? Then in your other comment you say that you should save crazy for the stands (again, your previous "let loose" statement) and only "PRIDE" is to be shown on the "feild" (misspelled by the way along with your usage of the homonym of where). So you can't show pride when you're having a little fun? CONT

Also, I'm not against marching bands, my school doesn't HAVE one. We are too small and the state owes us too much money (80k). My school probably won't even be open in five years and you are calling me "racist" against marching bands. Wow. Just terrible.

For the record, you might want to take some grammatical structure classes. You completely changed your opinion half-way through the paragraph and apparently you can't even use "where", "wear". and "ware" correctly. Grammar is your friend.

i have taken some grammar classes, i just dont use them as often as i should. i dont know how you can live without being in a band it must suck badly, i think i would kill myself without band and as for the racist thing i just used that for lack of a better word and i must have just misinterpreted your previous comment, sorry

A) We don't have a marching band. We still have band at my school. It is poorly funded and I sit next to a smelly lady, but we have it. I love band too. Even when I'm in college I will still continue to play my bass every now and then.

B) I understand why you used that term. I was quoting the term you had used.

C) I accept your apology. That happens often. I'm not always good at putting my thoughts into words.

They don't have your director though, do they? My school doesn't have a marching band, but we do have a pep band, and my band director encourages us to act goofy and dance. In fact, she does it sometimes when she thinks we're playing just fine without her direction.
