@LeisureCentury - That's funny I've never seen a quality video card PCB board bend from heat. In fact these cards where made to with stand temps over 80 Celsius. Of course they don't run that high if you adjust your fan speed and have a case with good airflow.

all i meant was with the PCI-E cards so close together the air fan/blower would be in direct contact with the pcb from the next card along so that surely means very little airflow, just seems like they would overheat considerably without a system like water cooling

the only reason im really not liking the idea of 3 way sli is that there is no space between the actual cards = really bad airflow meaning that overheating would be a major issue, its different if they were watercooled, but a setup like this is just bound to end up bad

@doradus1990 not really, check out maxishine's setup , and watercooling never leaks if installed properly and a pre run test without power to anything but the pump and radiator fans if theres no leaks on the pre run you're fine

Should use a product called 3m VHB to hold your CCFL's to your case. stuff is strong enough to hold fans to your chassis also :P

Dude too much Cable clutter. Need some Cable managerment or perhaps longer liquid cooling tubes. Allows more time for the heated liquid going back to the radiator more time too cool. I know a guy have 10 feet of liquid cooling tubes. and Manages the tubes very well. Looks more like under the hood of a car.

What kind of psu are you running im guessing the low performance is amp related. these cards are designed to use about 40 amps for peak performace.

Yes it really an amp problem, I'm going to buy a $30 5&1/2 inch bay 350 watt supplemental psu to run 1 of the gtx 280's. It's includes the necessary 6 and 8 pin pci-e cable on a single 12 volt rail with plenty of head room to work the card no problems. The Quattro has 4 rails hence the name, and with 3 cards and only support for 2 it was too spread out to give "AMP-le" performance. club4ghz is lucky. Antec probably trimmed the quattro since his model. Which is why mine didn't work as expected.

The Quattro 1000 Watt is designed to support 2 cards, mine runs 2 of the 280s with 10 amp leeway. It's good, even great at this easy street. I get superb performance with sli at these OC clock speeds: 677 core, 1457 shader, 1323 mem clock. Very stable no artifacts. I bought the FSP X5, its a supplementary psu capable of running 2 GTX 200 series cards. (Likely 2 260's) But it has no trouble running a single 295, or one of my OC 280s. With this I can get all three cards to work at OC specs.

I'll likely do a dual psu ghetto jerry rig, I have plenty of space in the nzxt tempest all I'd have to do is take out the bottom hard drive bracket and move the 120mm intake fan up two bays and use a 450 watt psu venting out the front. That might even make the rig more baddass.

Nope, Quatro 1000w wont run my 2 GTX295's, you might be able to to get away with it if you only run like one 1 HDD and 1 Optical Drive and no extra fans maybe then you can do it.

The GTX295 runs on 2 PCI-E 6 connectors right. Yep Quattro doesn't cut it, likely to never buy from them again. Next time will be Corsair.
