That's interesting - some people play on the last part of the riff the G on the bottom E string before ending on the E 2nd fret D string, but I notice you play the open D string before hitting the E 2nd fret D string.

The tone you're hearing is coming straight from the amp by setting the channel volume high and the master volume low.
