  • HAHA thats awesome i got the same glasses he does. XD

  • marry me.

  • @amatful1 I like it in the higher key, might be cause i'm used to it with it's 300 something play count xD but its interesting listening to him sing it different ways to say the least

  • I like the red beanie and the plaid ! Great song ah man. Dallas's unique voice and guitar playing really does make his music. It just doesnt sound like alot of other music compared to all the more mainstream stuff.

  • he looks like a jew with tht beanie..a sexy jew tho (: no homo!

  • 3 people have fucking down syndrome

  • @TaNNertHaBAMF30 my brother has down syndrome and this is one of his favourite songs :P

  • I enjoy this song in the lower key as well. I think it suits his voice a little better. He's definitely got the range for the higher key, but it just seems more appropriate for this song IMHO.

  • you know someone is talented when they sound this good live

  • his voice gave sound to the deaf and sight to the blind

  • 3 people missed the like button..

  • Papa Smurf is a fuckin' great singer!

  • I kind of prefer this song in a lower key.

  • Now this is music :) Im soo excited to see him live March 22 at the El Rey Theater.

  • Talk About Taking My Breath Away,, Pphsshheew...... :) Love Him!!!

  • 3 people discovered they have aids before disliking

  • @hany259...Hes just playing the song in a different key, a lower key. Essentially, the song is traditionally played with a capo on the fourth fret (A capo is a small tool that clamps a barre across the strings of the guitar effectively raising the pitch of the instrument without changing the original chord forms.) Shorter strings=Higher pitch. The tuning is still EBDGCe. Alot of musicians lower the key of their songs live if their voice is tired or just for less strain on it.

  • 3 idiots... sigh

  • Go Canada!

  • it's a lot lower tuned then normally recorded version (:

  • He has transposed the key a major third lower

  • just a lower octave

  • It's in E B D G C E tuning with a capo on 4th fret I think for the recorded version, I play along to it usually

  • nah hes just singing an octave lower i think

  • yea the tuning is very strange u can find it on ultimate guitar . com in one of the tabs.

  • gostoso

  • 3 people need to get their eyes checked, as well as their ears.

  • go canada

  • if you guys are wondering why it sounds different than the recording, it's because he doesn't have the capo on for this performance, so he has to sing lower.

    it's amazing.

  • It's a Baritone guitar

  • @colesy errr no its not

  • Dallas Green = TRUE and INCREDIBLE TALENT!!!!! <3

  • it sounds different because usually he plays with a capo on the 4th fret. He's playing without a capo. and it STILL sounds incredible:)

  • it's strange because it's tunned diferent from the cd version , but anyway , it's fucking wonderful *-*

  • defiantly the best singer ever

  • dallas is what makes me proud to be a canadian.

  • He looks like a proper Canuck too,eh! Beauty.

  • @bryanddd haahaa nice

  • that looks like a SICK environment to play guitar in holly shit. this mans my hero tho.

  • @lbeazley69 and there usally a capo at 4th too

  • Dallas Green has the purest voice i have ever heard, he writes about real shit that means something, unlike most artists. He transforms his insomnia, OCD, and anxiety into beatiful works of art. Hes truly an inspiration.

  • HOW THE FUCK CAN PEOPLE DISLIKE THIS!?!?! THIS IS BULLSHIT THOSE 2 PEOPLE ARE GOING TO HELL

  • the tuning is whole step down D G C F A D

  • @ItsChasers the tuning would actualy be DACFBD,very close but they way he plays it live is soo it sound like there too guitar goign at once, the guitar usally tuned EBDGCE

  • i love his voice so calm

  • a great song with a great voice. what els do you need?

  • amazing....

  • I think it sounds better higher.

  • he's singing in a lower octave :O

  • Great voice thanks for posting this

  • this never ending race...

  • capo or no capo its still amazing, its more chill lower i guess :D

  • he ain't using a capo

  • Maybe he forgot it lol!

  • jesus. he is so amazing.

i love his voice, and he's so soulful, it just adds to the beauty of the music.

    <333 inspirational.

  • @coolcornxo didnt know jesus was singing

  • Iv seen and heard Dallas perform this song many times, and iv got to say this is one of the most moving versions, like the soul of this man is poring out into this song, such love for music. its truly inspiring.

  • this is not in a dropped tuning, it's a baritone guitar. hahahahahahahhahaha.

  • lmao

  • its on a baritone guitar.

  • Love his music! truly amazing.

  • Great song great video thanks for posting his voice is the best

  • no bro

  • Comment removed

  • simply amazing, always gets me in a good mood :)

  • I love the way he moves when he's into a song.

  • actually, the tuning is a tone down from what i said previously.

so, if you want to sound exactly like he plays in this video, then its D, A, C, F, Bb, D.

if you want to follow the record version, then its E, B, D, G, C, E with capo at 4th fret.

  • @thetitletrack are you serposed to play the main chords to whilst picking the rest?

  • The tuning is:-

    E, B, D G, C, E

He uses this tuning with a capo on 4th fret on the record but here he is playing with no capo.

There is some good tab of this track if you look around but I learned from ear and I am 99% on this tuning.

  • I think the Tuning is Open D (D,A,D,G,A,d) but instead of him playing it on fourth fret, its played open.

  • nah definitely not open d i tried that and it sounds horrible. its like EBDGCe

    or something

  • Does any one know what tuning this is in? Cuz I don't think it's standard.

  • i think the guitar sounds weird because hes not using a capo

    good sng

  • He is amazing and everything, but i gotta ask, what's with the boots?

  • those are boots i think. theyre like cause dress shoes(?) and the skinny jeans make them look like boots. i was wondering the same thing.

  • just because he can lol

  • I think maybe he meant to make the tuning different.. he adjusts his vocals to fit it a little bit. But it still sounds good.

  • this sounds a bit strange? i dunno...like the guitar is tuned...whatever. he knows what he's doing lol. dallas green is amazing.

    5 stars

  • i was thinkin the same thing... i love his voice... God took a piece of his vocal chord and gave it to dallas green. i know he did. and i thank him for it :P

  • its because the song is actually played with a capo on the fourth fret of the guitar

  • thats what i love about dallas green. he's so versatile and can make anything sound amazing

  • it just sounds a bit weird because it's usually capo'd on 4, and he's got it open here. it's sort of neat to hear it played a bit differently.

  • @hany259 he's not using a capo, it's normally capo'd on 4

  • @hany259 He usually plays it with a Capo so the pitch is much higher but this is without so therefore lower... nice change though.

  • @hany259 he's using the same tuning but he isn't using the capo on 4 so the song is being performed in a key a major 3rd lower than normal

  • @nickcurcio yeah i hear it lol

  • @hany259 hey man- it sounds a bit strange because he's singing like...an entire octave lower. Maybe not that much, but he's singing the song MUCH lower.

  • @knakk813 The song is also tuned a whole step down as well :)

  • @hany259 He's just playing it in a different key. I like it better this way personally.

  • @hany259 its coz hes not using the capo on the 4th fret hes just playing as normal, in the studio recording he uses the capo and makes the pitch higher.

  • @MattCupz He doesn't have a capo for the entire set. He has to attempt to either sing lower, or transpose chords.

  • @JacobPaxton

Then explain waiting...and against the grain

  • @hany259 He doesn't have the kapo

  • @hany259 i think he switched up the key from the one he normaly plays the song in

  • @hany259 Every time he plays a certain song live, he plays it different. Sometimes it's in a different key, other times, new riffs or chords. Dallas is amazing. I respect him as a guitar player so much.

  • @hany259 Know why? There's a rhythm guitar and lead guitar playing in the recorded version, so he's playing it like this to keep that full sound of the song on guitar without playing only one part without the other, which can be hard depending on the song. I don't know if that made sense since I suck at explaining shit haha

  • @41nhs Maybe he was having an off day and decided to remove the capo and tune a whole step down? Who knows. He's still awesome any way you slice it.

  • @mattsomers ya thats true. I really dont know. and ya he's awesome haha

  • @41nhs it's actually just played in a different key

  • @wiki001 haha that was probably what I was thinking of originally with my first comment but wasn't able to word it right. That and in a different tuning. I still can't understand keys in music well so it's hard for me to grasp it sometimes haha

  • @hany259 he usually plays this song in B with a capo on the 4th fret, but instead, he's playing it here with not only opened strings, but tuned down a whole step. so new it's 3 steps down in F. personally i don't like it that low, but the original is amazing, so whatever.

  • @hany259 It's just tuned lower that's all.

  • @hany259 Well said :P

  • @hany259 He is singing in (in the most part) down the octave.

  • @CloudFourMusic no, he just is not playing without a capo on the 2nd fret so he doesn't have to sing as high.

  • The camerawork and editing makes the video look a bit old school. :P lol

  • add &fmt=18 to make high quality.

  • he doesnt have a capo, but i love how it sounds lower.

  • makes it abit more hauntin....fuckin good our dallas!

  • doesn't get better than Dallas Green (:
