I could do without the chicks in this version. Sorry, I just don't enjoy Martha's voice that much. On her own she is all right, but I don't think she goes well with Rufus at all.

Rufus is awsome, not his best version of this song but still good.

Comparing to Cohen is useless, this song has been covered so many times by so many artists. They all contribute something (be it good or bad) to the song, it all depends on the listeners taste in music if he or she likes it, just as it is with all the other music out there. And as we all know there's no accounting for taste :P

Rufus Wainwright's voice is a little pinched, not very strong, and not even particularly expressive. No disrespect to Rufus -- it's just not particularly inspiring. Jeff Buckley's version is dynamically expressive, haunting, poignant. His voice soars to great effect (terrific range). Indeed, his version inspired Rufus. So Kudos to Rufus for his music hearing! See "Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah (Original Studio Version", playing guitar and singing.

It's from the DVD "I'm Your Man", an excellent documentary and concert dedicated to Leonard Cohen. It was made in 2005 in Australia, and has numerous performers(including U2 w/ Cohen) singing his songs, as well as interviews with Cohen, Wainright, Bono, Nick Cave, etc. If you get the DVD (readily available), check out Antony's version of "If It Be Your Will"(also on YouTube). Thanks to "Kash" for the upload. I've been looking all over for this version on YouTube.
