  • Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Sooooo Much. You simplified this so nicely.

  • Absolutely the best and simplest, many thanks...

  • thanx m8. ive learnt it from you and 100 plus people have learnt it from me. thanx a million, from New Zealand.

  • Hey Zman! I tried it your way and was throwing like a pro nearly everytime. Last time out with the net, the only fish i caught were stupid because nearly every time the net wasn't opening. Came home, found your video and now, . . . . Now i'm deadly with this net! Thanks Zman!!

  • @devolutionizreal I know huh!?

  • With big net just do it like he said and make it shorter...i've been throwing one like that since i was about 10 years old....NICE VIDEO.......

  • any of you guys soak your cast nets in fabric softener?

  • I soaked mine in water before my first use.

  • @canoetexas I soak mine in lake water or sea water, depends where I'm throwing it haha

  • shit wont work with big nets

  • @MYDELUXEPACKAGE Yes it will! I've thrown a 12' commercial net the same way (With the bunching) Just have to throw it a lot harder.

  • @phartattack make a video with you throwing a 12' like that and ill believe it.

  • @MYDELUXEPACKAGE Um, Who are you and what do I care if you believe what I can and cant do. 12' nets are overkill unless you are using it commercially for bait sales... BLOCKED!

  • boilerant..calaveras lake is outside san antonio texas...its the bigger "cooling" lake.

  • Awesome..I had been trying the flip the wrist, hold in your mouth and was getting no-where. This is awesome..thanks.

  • make a better video plz thanks step by step vido

  • Thanks, Manuel Z. First try in the back yard, I got it. Where is Lake Calaveras?

  • Dude, I've seen a ton of these how-to vids on doing this and I have to say this is by far the best one! Nicely presented in recorded the dude learning to do it your way.... much easier!!

  • i agree me and my brother tried to learn by ourselves and failed and when we found this video we ended up catching all the shrimp and mullet we needed to fish in the gulf

  • It took a while to find this again but worth it.

This a grat way to throw a cast net if you have false teeth or not!

  • it took me maybe 5 minutes to learn how to throw this way, and now that i have been using this method for two years i have only had 3 throws not open up out of hundreds of casts , thanks manny

  • Thankx again Manuel, I was always looping it and using my weights to wrap around my body, only worked 1/2 the time...Really , thankx.

  • I also benifited from this video...thanks Manuel Z.

  • You are the MAN! I went out and threw my net PERFECT on the 1st try! All these other vids that tell you to flip your wrist and eat lead, don't work for me at all. This method is SO easy and works great!! Thank you so much for posting this!!

  • i would love 2 learn 2 fish like like this any tip or hints would be much appricated thanx

  • As I type this, approximately 25-30 minutes have elapsed since FIRST watching this video. I went out back and threw my next consistently flawless thanks to ManuelZ and this video! Thanks man! If you're ever in the Rockport or Copano Bay area...look me up!

  • i still suck at throwing the net but opened it succesfully more times, and yes, did get some finger mullet, and some snook on the finger mullet! thanks!

  • Great instructions. I was getting inconsistant results with the through the teeth method using a 4 footer, forget about using my 6 footer. I am now throwing perfect circles with both 4 and 6 footers. I am 5'5" so with the 6 footer instead of grabbing the nut I just grab the net almost 2 ft down from the nut and hold everything else the same. Like I said, works great and no mullet scales in my mouth! I'll try using my 8 footer next.

  • i also have a 6 foot net. can i use this method for that net?

  • yeah i added rope to mine to. with your method i learned to throw it 28 ft

  • o improve your "castability" and acuracy. Add some more rope to the end of the line (I ADDED 10 FEET) and I can cast it farther, and in deeper water. Actually I added the rope from an old ripped up net I found on the bank.

Any questions or suggestions feel free to ask them here!

Oh yeah don't make face ID's and say my method is "Harder than others" just because you have a video out too! abpg1435.

    The responses say different!

  • WOW this video rocks I as trying the other methods and I sucked first time I got a full open net with your method....thank you so much.

  • roy when you open the net with your left hand it is easier if you bunch the weights up

  • there are many different methods an i happen to find this the hardest but i can get a full circle when i throw the lead in the mouth way

  • You find this method the hardest? Seems to me you're just set in your ways and don't welcome change. I showed this method to my Dad and after about 3 (PERFECT) throws my way... He just went back to his way, Same method but throwing the wrong side. once in a while he actually gets it to open/catch bait.

  • this method comes as an instructional pamphlet when you buy a 6' net at walmart.

    still, awesome job. thanks

    Laz

  • Well I must say just 1 word for this video "FANTASTIC"

Its so good I was doing it easy and faster this way than all the other confused way like over the shoulder and lose you teeth throws.

I have now recomended friends and my customers here in the UK wh now have cast nets to come and learn from your video.

I thank you once again and keep up the good work

    regards from UK

  • i think you should market a video with your way of throwing ,i have been throwing a net for a year now using the instructions that came with it, it was butt backwards , i tried your way and holy crap it worked perfectly now that i got opening the full circle down im gonna work on precision , i see the neighbors lazy cat as a target he will let me throw anything at him and not move lets see how he likes a net over his head, will write back with results.....thanks ever so much for sharing this vid

  • update on neighbors cat i caught him 3 out of 4 times he got annoyed and walked away , love the video it helped me out so much i can throw farther and more acurate and it opens full circle every time with your way of throwing .............. i still say you should market this video

  • yes this is the best instructional video for throwing a cast net. took me one try to get a full open circle

  • hey manny i live in san anto to ey i fish skulls all the time man.your castnet video helped alot i could throw one but this way is very easy thanks man!

  • my grandpa taught me to throw bread crumbs first then throw the net, catch alot every time

  • This technique is awesome. Watched the video maybe 3 times, went outside took maybe two tries before I went from a crumbled mess to almost completely rounded circle. If your lost and the other put it over your shoulder in your mouth and around your ankles arent working try this!

  • i suck at throwing a net but i'm going to go out tonight and try your method. wish me luck! if i could get some finder mullet, i'd be a happy man.

  • pozor

how did you get on with your net and did you get any finder mullet

  • I used to throw a net as a teenager with what I remember to be a simple method that my cousin quickly taught me. I recently bought a net figuring it would come back to me...it didn't. My fishing friends showed me their ways...over the shoulder, in the teeth, etc. I am like hey, it is only a six foot net. I knew you could just sling it quickly and easily....THANK YOU, THANK YOU, AND THANX AGAIN !!

  • @rmamadrid youre welcome!

  • I put my 14 foot drop net away cause it was too hard to throw, Think I will get it back out and have a crack at it with your method. Fingers crossed it works

  • I've caught more fish in nets than on a line, and of all the techniques - and I've tried the lot! - yours is the best. Keep it simple. If anything, I find collecting 2 ends of the 'skirt' in the throwing hand helps. You do one, which works pretty well.

  • Just bought my 1st Cast Net there not used much here in the UK will try to remember how you showed it, thanks for posting this.

  • Watch the video and try it in your back yard... you don't have to throw it in water!

  • My personal thanks to you, man! I've been struggling on perfecting my castnet technique for two years with the instructions provided with the nets. WHAT A JOKE! I tried it your way and got a perfect spread on the very first throw. You almost can't mess it up.

  • Calaveras Lake, TX (The Wall)

  • wear were you in this vid...it's awosmr
