Dylan is like a long-lost character from Alice in Wonderland. I think the Mad Hatter left him in a teapot before heading off on his travels, and he's been stewing in there in a little pool of old water and drying tea leaves. Then the Blame Society guys found him, gave him beer, put a pair of Buddy Holly glasses on his face and put him to work. He seems to exist dreamily in some sort of realm in-between life and death.
