  • i heard doing this messes up your flash memory faster!

so take a warning before doing this!

  • What's the name of your sbsettings theme???

  • mmm...it seems with this the iphone can work like the new Nokia n900...that besides the physical RAM can use virtual RAM

  • I almost forgot; To install this use winscp.

ssh into your iPhone/iPod (google is your friend if you dont know)

go to the root folder and drag the iPhoneVM.deb in there and click okay. Now press ctrl+t . type: dpkg -i iPhoneVM.deb

when that's done, reboot your iphone and the first thing you do when in the springboard is: go into sbsettings > processes and free up memory. Now it's all set!

Google the things you don't know like "sbsettings".

  • thanks for information

    :-)

  • This actually works!! I can actually load ALL my apps in the background if I wanted and have them load within 1 second. Using this basicly means that you have a swap file of more than 5Gb.

This enables the iPod Touch 2g to compete with the iPhone 3gs and iPod Touch 3g because its processor is 533 compared to the 600mhz of the 3gs and 3g(iPod Touch)

both the 3g and 3gs have 256mb ram and this means the iPod touch 2g can have a max of 30GB ram.

    Enjoy backgrounding.

  • Wow idk if you can make them but you think you can make a 1gb swap file?

  • Nevermind I found out on xsellize how to do it.

  • Well, it is very unlikely but this thing makes a swap file of 256mb and if that is full then it makes another and another etc...so you "Could" get 1GB if you play like 50 games in the background? xD

This thing mainly fixes crashes with safari, it also fixes the issue of pages having to REFRESH when you go back to them. I haven't had that with this yet and I think I never will. The perfect combo for this tool is called "Backgrounder".

    Here's the download: megaupload * com/?d=438DTLZF

  • @Chronos014 GB?!

  • @WoOiiX GB = Gigabyte. 1 Gigabyte is 1000 megabytes. An mp3 file is around 3 megabyte (mb).

  • @Chronos014 Haha I know what GB is. But some guy said he could have about 30GB ram. No freaking way. An iPhone doesn't even need that much.
