Hi Shawn, the plans are from Rozendaal. They were published in the magazine "Der Motorwagen" in 1911. The engine on my Blériot is an Anzani 6cyl. from 1914 with 60hp.To find one is very difficult, sorry I cannot help.
Can anybody help a desperate 18 yr old boy? Im am building a Bleriot XI and need to get some plans, where could i find it? and where is the best place to find the motor for a Bleriot XI, I have seen some plans on google but their not readable. Plz help soon as possible. thanks. Sincerly Shawn Gentry
I've seen quite a few pictures of these banking tight and diving around pylons (!) in air races at the Belmont Park race track (horses) in 1910. Your airplane is amazing to watch! Is it true Pegoud invented the loop in one of these? Thanks for posting. I felt like I could go on watching for hours.
I'm moving to the Philippines next year where there are many good craftsman and timber available at low prices I'm looking a experianced builder/designer of these type of aircraft who is interest in suppling airframes for export at a affordable.
The more of these WW1 aircraft we can see flying the better
I have built this airplane beside my demanding job and family and I am still happy married to the same wife! Let me know when you are finished with your Blériot (if I am still alive by then!)
haf - before you first flew the aeroplane, did you read up on some of the great pioneers who flew this design in the pioneer days?
I read somewhere on the web about a guy out of San Francisco flying a replica also. He couldn't take off and didn't no the reason why. He talked to a guy who knew the Bleriot's characteristics. The guy told him he had to get the tail up first during taxi before ascending into the air. The advice worked. So did you go through something similar?
yes, I was reading books about characteristics of the Blériot IX. As well Mikael Carlson, the most experienced Blériot pilot in the world today, gave me a thorough brefing. It is true, you have to lift the tail firmly before you can get airborne.
I'm 5 years old (my mom is helping me write this) and I have a Corgi model of the Bleriot XI, plus a library book about the historic flight. I like your video!
Thank you for the inspiration. We are currently building a replica Bleriot XI of "La Scarabe" in Montreal. The sight of yours in flight will keep us going.

Beautiful, beautiful!
I once saw one flying at Rotterdam airport on a hot day. When it passed over my head, I had oil on my handkerchief I had tied on my head!!
What engine dou you use?
mammothmouse1959 4 years ago
Thank you for your comment.
I use an original Anzani 6cyl.60hp 1914.
hafurrer 4 years ago
Wasn't that Anzani well known for its unreliability?
Amazing project, building it yourself. How long did it take you?
mammothmouse1959 4 years ago
My Anzani runs good. It took me 15 years to built the aircraft.

Great project! I did restore/ repair gliders.
Are you going to cross the Channel, one day?
mammothmouse1959 4 years ago
No,somebody has done it already.
hafurrer 4 years ago
It's not about "somebody".
For me it would be the ultimate when owning a Bleriot, just to do it once in the morning, and go back in the afternoon....
mammothmouse1959 4 years ago
Excellent, job well done.
