Almost 4 million men on the fronts in the German Army in 1944. Only the SS and the men of the early war went through an oath in Berlin with Hitler present. The oath meant nothing to most men. All nations have their military oaths. Even some SS units were not as fanatical as you are saying. 3rd SS had a very clean war record. And after 1943 most of them had been pressed into the service.

@arka67 only the SS were bad, they were the hardcore Nazi's, the regular soldiers were just doing what they were told, and from my understanding, the SS were the ones responsible for the concentration camps, so that makes the SS the bad guys.

@arka67 and remember, the Nazi's got considered bad because they mainly slaughtered Jews(yes, they killed everyone in their quest) but they tried to exterminate Jews more, but the Soviet Union, who killed way more was considered a lesser evil because it killed everyone fairly, just as Death itself, Death does not care if your rich or poor, black or white, Death takes you when your time is up.

@arka67 I bet you skimmed, because if you had read properly, I was putting Death and the Soviet Union close(not an ideological clash, need I mind you, I have no problems with the) but if you had read, the Soviet Union killed indiscriminately(much like Death itself)v wheras Hitler and his Nazi's killed Jews more(or tried to kill more) than others, Death itself(again, if you had actually read, I wouldn't need to repeat) takes you when your time is up, no matter who you are, or where you are.
