  • I didn't know Atari manufactured Morse Code machines.

  • Yeah...I remember I had a "Translator" that could be started from one of the boot-loaders and was much smaller because it din't have the fancy boot screen, so much quicker to load. Of course, nice A8 graphics though :D

  • Sound of my memories of far past.

  • A big reason why I made this video was also to capture the 8-bit Atari loading sound. It's something that's just not the same with emulators, and every time I hear it, it always brings me back :)

Holy crap, this is awesome! I downloaded an emulator for the Atari 65XE a month or two ago for use in a school project, but like you mentioned, it didn't have the beeping. It's been a good 15 years since I've used my real 65XE and had completely forgotten about this loading sound. Thanks a lot for bringing back some great memories. :)

  • @Ucic1 My pleasure!

Wow. This brought back memories. I remember the Translator but cant remember its function. Reminds me of my sleek Indus Systems Drive on my 800XL. With my $300 300 baud modem sitting on top.

  • @alienvomit I was actually using my Indus GT disk drive in this video! When I was a kid, I thought its digital display was the most futuristic thing ever :)

  • I miss my 130XE.

  • Go buy one on ebay ;-)

  • awesome
