  • Oh my Word!! I have a son that age!! I honestly would never come back from that!! the strongest love is that of a mothers!!

  • Your video is popular on Canberra

  • Your video is a favorite on Indonesia

  • america should not go to war because they're retards! on another note though Bette can sing like an Angel!

  • Bette is the best. This song is for the loved ones that are one and we miss.

  • It's good but it made me ;-(

  • If an US Armed force can not secure their area better than that when they gathering in such large numbers (in a combat zone) you deserve to DIE.

All way too melodramatic, it looked like a scene out of "Tropic Thunder".

Basic overreaching garbage,, the director should have saved this movie by not placing the entertainer Mother with the war fighter Son in the Dying scene unless he had went to the field, got blasted, Medivac-ed out, and she had met up with him in a true rear area hospital.

  • @not2b8b4u except for your comment 'you deserve to die' you are spot on, I did USO shows all over VN 71-2, some in mountain camps like this one. Our first show was in

Phu Bai a well fortified proper base, mid show we got rocket attacked and blown off stage, spent the night in a semi under ground bummer.,.

  • this is really a sad scene...

  • THIS MADE ME BAWL! :((((((

  • When I had to put my most beloved cat to sleep, when the vet gave me time alone with her to say goodbye, I found myself quietly singing this song to her, in part..."In my life I loved them all...Mmmmmm...In my life, I love you more...." She used all her strength at that moment to lick my nose. This song will always remind me of her, and visa versa. Pet owners will understand.

  • @Indio156 Your story is so sad, yet peaceful.

  • @Indio156 We are looking at our old bones Louis the cat, soon old boy. Yes we understand also. Its family

and only a Pet owner would understand. Sorry for your loss.

  • @Indio156 P.S. we are just hoping the old boy passes in his (my) reading chair and we find him at home where he belongs, with us.

  • @Indio156 Sorry for your loss :'( Lost my father and grandfather last year, in only 2 months.. I think all (who's suffered loss) will understand.. But, as long we keep a healthy, loving and a memorable life - They will be there with us :')

  • Good movie but the writing got it wrong. But, no offense. After all it was a movie. I just happened to have lived it.

  • Thanks for sharing, this is truly the sadest scene in the movie... I love this movie

  • @cremeofthereich - you know, that your name says it ALL!!!!! you NAZI SCUM! you obviously get off on the pain and suffering of others....with a name like CREMEOFTHEREICH...you have no right to comment! arent there laws against people like you????? and why has no-one put your sorry asre behind bars where you belong....NAZI GERMANY died a long time ago, pitty you didnt go with it!!!! YOU SICKO! what an asshole - you just shit on your flag & constitution! dickhead!

  • He has to make sure Mom is okay. Pray for my niece everyone, she is in Affi now. Thanks.

  • @basauer713 i will pray for her

  • I loved this movie and don't know why it wasn't a hit - or at least more popular because I know several people who say they are Bette fans but have never heard of it. I really like Bette and think she's a great singer and wonderful entertainer. And I'm like others who well up every time I see the scene where she sees her son die.

  • Momento que o cinema vale a oena..maravilhosa..via a paz..

  • one of the most tearful scenes in cinema history! talk about crying a river! i love the movie, i love the Divine Miss M....and this movie is just so brilliantly made....this scene of a mother losing her son.....makes me a blubbering mess. GOD BLESS ALL OUR TROOPS OUT THERE FOR THOSE THAT ARE GONE AND THOSE THAT ARE STILL WITH US! xxxxxx

  • One of the worst movies I have ever seen. Martha Raye should have sued to dissociate herself from any possibility this shit was about her. I understand Midler trying to make a go of this dribble, but James Caan must have taken years to recover. Painful on so many levels.

  • @cremeofthereich you obviously have neither a heart nor a soul!!!!.... when a mother loses her one true love, a son, and an only child (not that mothers that have more than one should feel differently, a mothers love and bond with her son/sons is unique) this is the saddest piece of cinematography ever filmed!...if you were to ever think of my son, or anyone elses son that dies so tragically while protecting your sorry arse, then shame on you! where is your patriotism???? and i am Australian

  • @koalabearqld You are obviously over the top crazy. We are talking about a film here, a lousy film, lousy performances and a shmaltzy phony assed script. As I said, Midler's foray into this crap is understandable, if well written, her role would have suited her abilities. But it wasn't, it was instead crass and cheap, painful to sit through. Trying to make a quick buck off the backs of those brave boys. Shameful. As for you, LOCO!!

  • @cremeofthereich if you dont like it, why the hell did you bother to watch it? why the hell do you bother to comment? and why trash someones work of art? there are many actors that i dont like or films made that i dont much care for, however, i have a great appreciate for the ART of Cinematography....opinons are like assholes, everyone has one...you seem to have a bigger one than most! dont ever call me crazy again! i am a student of the Arts! have been since i was 5 and now im 45....

  • @koalabearqld also, i dont go around telling people they are "over the top crazy".....not nice....shame on you! and i never believe that any movie made with our men & women in uniform that protect us is ever made to make "a quick buck off their backs"!!!! what the hell would you know about it anyway other than to shoot your god damn mouth off! so Saving Private Ryan was also a cheap shot way to make money off our Soldiers....you have a serious problem mate! you should be ashamed to be human!

  • @koalabearqld Listen grade A number one wack job, one doesn't know they won't like it, UNLESS they watch it! And you are calling this piece of shit a "work of art????" You even invoke a reference to the ART of cinematography with this horseshit in mind? You are plumb loco crazy loonie tunes! Also, you are NOT patriotic, you just want to have sex with men in uniform and you thought slutty Bette would be your ticket to GI cock. That seems very apparent!!!

  • *I adore you

  • to my grandmother...I love you and I miss you very much. I miss you everyday. You are my best friend. Thank you for raising me and teachng me right from wrong. Thank you for teaching me about life, and love and loss. My heart will never feel a loss like it did when you parted. You are my heart and soul and I just adore me. Thank you for loving me unconditionally.. Thank you for teaching me about compassion. I love you and I will miss you forever.......In my life, I loved you more....

  • @MrCubbybear77

I am so sorry for your loss. My gram died 5 months ago. I feel exactly how you do... I learned so much from my Grandma and I miss her so much. Words can't explain how much her life meant to me. Like you, I will love her and miss her forever.

  • @MrCubbybear77

I am so soory for your loss. My gram died 5 months ago and I love and miss her so much. No on has ever touched my life they way she did. I will miss her and love her forever too.

  • @lisapizza1971 Hello Friend, I know how you feel, really all too well~!

Think of this loss, as a new beginning, for Her & You~! She is always

Alive In Heaven, and in your Heart~! Remember that Love, Donny

  • @MrCubbybear77

I am so soory for your loss. My gram died 5 months ago and I love and miss her so much. No on has ever touched my life they way she did. I will miss her and love her forever too.

  • Mark Rydell did an awesome job with this film. I remember seeing this in the theater, and it was just as devastating. But this still hits home today, because we're still sending our sons, and now our daughters, into harm's way, thousands of miles from home, and we lie to ourselves and tell each other that they're "fighting for our freedom." That's a lie. They're not fighting for OUR freedom. They're fighting, and dying, for the freedom of giant corporations to make huge profits. WAR IS WRONG.

  • One of the best movie that I've watched "in my life"... thank-you Bette Midler & James Caan

  • war is no joke

  • It's Bette Midler's 'In My Life' makes me recall and remember the people, places, feeling, and scenes happening "in my life" that I still cherish. They're memorable and sweet after years gone by though some really hurt me back then. But they passed and they are parts "in my life".

Thanks to The Beatles writing this great song, and Gazillion thanks to Bette singing it such beautifully and meaningfully T_T

  • god i just fucking bawled my eyes out.

  • One of Hollywood's best and saddest movie scene ever created..

  • I watched this 100 times and I cried 100 times. As sad as it is, it is one of the best movies I've ever seen.

  • Love the movie, love the soundtrack (I own both) and this scene always tears my heart to pieces.

  • trying to find the whole film on YT ... its never shown on TV for some strange reason!

  • Bette Midler sings this song 100x better than the Beatles--she has an amazing voice!

  • The son appears to be a homosexual.

    Discuss.

  • @mrspatrickcampbell its just wishful thinking on your part

  • I cry every time I watch this it's beautiful song Bette is a amazing singer and actress. Her holding her "son" in her arms reminds me of holding my stillborn son in my arms for the first and last time

  • This song reminds me of my son who will be back any day now from the war. War is hell, and this shows what it would be like. I could picture me and my son in this same position. Hope I never ever have to. Hurry home son. God speed! We love you! Safe journey Toots! Love ya, Mom

  • The only time, in like 50 yrs, that I had to have a pet put to sleep...She had a brain thing that made her lose all her abilities..Not just to walk (i cared for an animal who couldn't walk)...In the space of a week, she was like one of "Jerry's Kids" on the Telethon...No walking, and her arms and legs were haywire, and she had no bowel control.. I sang this song to her, out of the blue, just before she was killed at the vets office. She responded, and struggled to lean up, and kiss my nose.

  • Oh man this movie gets me every time, i'm crying just watching this clip.

  • My Niece leaves for Affi next month--it is for all our boys and girls. God Bless them all.....

  • Those are some very explosive sandbags.

  • Thanks for posting this marvelous clip....IMO Bette owns this song.

  • this is an AWESOME movie!

  • 06:03 that's one Unlucky fucker!

  • To my American military Heros, thank you for all you do, and please remember your oath is to defend the Constitution from foes foreign and domestic. May God give you discernment.

  • @plalelal and don't forget that includes invading whomever the fuck your leaders choose - I detest your countries foreign empirical policy but I pray for you all who have to defend it

  • Big beautiful women ahead of you naneedj.info

  • To all of the vets out there, Happy Veterans Day - to my son, thank you!

    love you forever Bette..

  • Search some naughty women online **mworld5.info**

  • I used to watch scenes like this and it would effect me, but now that I have seen war and death, movies like this no longer look real. I wish I didn't know the difference.

  • @bludrum13 Hey I feel ya, I'm about to leave for Afghan' in January and she's gotta come sing for us!

  • One of my fav. movies ever... just wonderful.

  • Excellent movie....

  • I still cry, you were never ever alone.........

  • Lot's of memories in this

  • @pinkcookie1969 It is, it's really hard to determine which is a favorite of mine, For the boys which showed all of her unique talents or Stella that showed her acting chops?

  • Remembering 1991

  • @11670207 Yeah, check her out on here for a movie called Stella, with Trini Alvarado and John Goodman and Stephen Collins. The whole movie is underrated and it is really good.

  • @SirCubedThaRyter I love Stella, a grea movie. xxx

  • damn this squeezed the sea out my eyes

  • Oh she is so talented!Anyone know of any great Bette perfomance's on here?I'm being lazy!LOL!

  • So beautifully sad and touching!Bette is the most underated performer i've heard!Fabulous!

  • @11670207 For this performance...you are right!

  • this will always reminds me to treasure all the people that we're acquainted with when we still have the chance who knows we might lose them one day and have regrets for the rest of our lives that we weren't able to appreciate their existence and importance in our lives.

  • @ice4trez accidentally hit vote down! so sorry................ I agree with you 100% and it is so sad we often forget this!

  • I love this song. It always reminds me of music soothing the savage beasts and getting through to everyone. Bette is the greatest.

  • my Favorite song of all times...I was in Vietnam XMas 1968...was worse than hell during the holidays....

  • thank you for posting this. I was in the USO in 72 in Vietnam doing shows exactly like the one depicted in this scene. We got rocket attacked toward end of our first show. Last day in Vietnam General Fred Weyand called me into his office and gave me a Letter of Appreciation a copy of which I proudly carry to this day. We reunited in Honolulu in 2004. Gen Weyand passed away Feb 10, 2010 in HI. He was a great, great man and I deeply mourn his passing.

  • @cliffworks4321 Without the boys who went to Nam where would we be today... Thank you......
