See this thing about Arnold is that he worked out every muscle completely equally, that is why he looks so good and proportionate. Id say EVERY muscle on his body is almost "maxed" out except for maybe his abs, but maybe his genetics just wont let him get his abs any more aesthetic.
Arnold had the perfect body with massive arms and best biceps ever, huge rib cage and low full pecs with the best side chest pose in history! height to dominate as the tallest Mr. olympia ever!,with the best calves in the world. 260+lb beast!

I don't think Nelip is an Arnold hater, he is merely critical and appears to be taking an objective view. There is nothing he has said that isn't false. Arnold did indeed have corrective surgery on his jaw, as is evident from after 1985 when his build had slimmed down and his face looked softer..... He still has a strong jawline but compare now to pre 1984..........he also had a mole on the side of his upper right jaw removed too. He was getting ready to be a huge movie star.
@Diamhea Actually Arnold was the first to use Theme from Exodus. At the suggestion of Wag Bennett in the mid 60s. Arnold was in the UK as a guest of Bennett and suggested Arnold use this music as it had highs and lows which one could use to full effect. Nubret as far as I know never used it.....
@philster611 Oh damn. Maybe it was just used in videos ive seen of Serge and played over the video itself instead of being the audio used by Serge. Guess I'm wrong.
@Diamhea No prob. If you really want to get an insight into Arnold and his bodybuilding days, get a copy of Arnold: Education of a bodybuilder........ You can see how his mind developed and what drove him to become the greatest. He is a smart man. Very smart.....

Imagine how Arnold must have felt at this time, as he says in his interview, King of the world with no hope for anyone else to even come close! He dominated for over a decade, even as a teenager he was winning world championships, 1970 Mr. olympia at age 23, the world recored for his age and height that hold to today with the greatest physique the world has ever known!
I see that MrAlucardio777 has contributed to his boring ramblings that he so does in almost every post on youtube. He's obviously playing baseball with a rubber bat. Perhaps his whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others. Plays follow the leader with Arnold just because everyone else does, but he's fallen behind. Lol!
@neilp77 Hey rain man, too afraid to respond directly to me? Really interesting the accusation of "boring ramblings" from someone that is on every Arnold's video spitting nonsense sentences like an abused child (abused by Arnold, precisely)... Well, what i must expect from a person that jokes with nicknames on youtube... And remeber, fanboys and haters are in the same league...
@MrAlucard222 What about now? I'm typing right to ya! Feel better, idiot? Maybe haters can teach you a few things like me throwing a stick and you retrieving it. Good Doggy! We're in the same league now, huh?
@neilp77 Not exactly, i'm not an Arnold's fanboy, sorry you failed hard... I have no problem say that Arnold didn't deserve the '80 Olympia or that Oliva is probably the greatest in pure genetic, and i always liked Mike Mentzer type of physique...
@MrAlucard222 Not exactly an Arnold fanboy? Okay. ".... Arnold in 1974 was a god, his best year, perfection..." Your words. Comparing him to a god? If that's not a fanboy, I don't know what is, then. Lol! And yes, Sergio had the best genetics for bodybuilding--better than Arnold.
@MrAlucard222 Ignore Neil he spits out sour grapes on all the Arnold vids then calls anyone who critiques Mentzer or Oliva trolls! He has issues......
@BiodegradeableMan Following me all over youtube? Look, I'm not interested in you, okay? Go look for another network for a male hookup. You might find someone for you. Lol! In the meantime Google the word: Contradicting; your picture is in there.
Watch and learn that Arnold is most overrated BB in existance. Skinny (especially in 80) thighs with virtually no hamstrings. Stand him next to the newer breed of champions--he would even garner a ten place finish! He would be cast aside due to him being small and ignored. Phil Heath, Dennis Wolf, Cutler, Dillet, and Coleman would annilate Arnold and would backhand him like an abused step-child. Next!
@neilp77 Not that overrated. People rate by comparing and by doing so, they see that Arnold is mostly the best. He developed that that huge and closest to perfection body in the 70's without using growth hormone (as do all of them bodybuilders you've mentioned today) and by overtraining that much(3 hours of training a day) - it's just impressive! Still I think, if Arnold would use Mentzers HIT training (instead of Weiders lots of volume kind of shit) then I think he would succeed even more.
@NamesShouldBeAvailab Yes overrated, I'm afraid so--sorry. People see Arnold in movies and politics, so he is easily indentified with the media. Arnold's physique was not perfect, not by a long shot. His thighs was incredibly thin with a chest that complete dwarfed his delts. His triceps did not match his peaked biceps. And shoulders were also sloped. Arnold ingested more chemical than his opposition (also rumoured that he using GH from human cadavers in which were used by BB's in the 70's).
@neilp77 Why did he need big thighs? The V shape was his goal not the freaky X shape. His peaked biceps looked great with his triceps + he had 22 inch arms at his peak physique. Many bodybuilders get that number with an enormously huge triceps and with a small biceps. So in some ways Arnolds arms were of an unique proportion. His delts did not pop out too much, I think that was great because what made him look big and wide were his wide chest and back but not the round ball like deltoids.
@NamesShouldBeAvailab Why did he need big thighs? Well, Gee--they were quite small with no hamstrings. He was a Y-Shape instead of the required X-shape most competitors displayed. Very doubtful Arnold had 22" arms as Arthur Jones measured them at over 19" Arnold had amazing biceps--but small triceps and no forearms which constitutes 2/3th of arm mass. A chest the overpowers the delts in not the correct proportions my friend. Look at the delts today and Sergio's. Arnold were tiny compare to them.
@neilp77 Arnold was taller than anyone else he competed with. Having those long bones, he still managed to put a lot of muscle on them. And, I don't want to offend anyone but, the X shape was a short bodybuilders thing. + his arms were long too, so on those bones muscles of 19" in diameter would look flatter compared to what Arnold had. Talking about shoulders, I personally didn't like the way that Arnold 3D model looked in Terminator 4.
@neilp77 Still no signs of GH use seen in Arnold. Today all the top bodybuilders have the increased in size stomachs because of GH use. Arnolds waist was always thin and flat that made his upper body look even bigger.
@NamesShouldBeAvailab If you look at Arnold's face in the early 70's, you'll noticed he had hints of acromegaly. Had gapped teeth, frontal bossing, chin enlargement, etc; He corrective surgery later to remove these traits. He obviously did not abuse GH (human cadevers) as it was in experimental stages during those times.
@neilp77 Possibly you're right, I also heard those rumors. But still Arnold looked not the round-muscle-mountain-with-a-big-stomach way, as for example Coleman does.
@NamesShouldBeAvailab It's hard to say how Arnold would reacted to Heavy Duty because it's incredibly brutal. Arnold trained HIT (Arthur Jones invited him back in 70's) for two days. He puked and left for home. He could not handled the treshold required to workout in this brutal matter. Very few could handle such workouts. Casey, Mentzer, Oliva and some others stayed with it, with great results.
@neilp77 Arnold was a Weiders protege. He could not train HIT because of the way it didn't match the principles dictated by Weider(listen to me, read my magazines, overtrain 3h a day, eat 60% of protein, buy my supplements). I agree with the fact that Heavy Duty training is brutal but still I think he would handle it - training 3h a day isn't as easy too.
@NamesShouldBeAvailab Leave Neilp77, classic Arnold's hater, he even compares Arnold, a champ of the '70 when steroids were almost the only big thing to use, with freak like Dillet (the "diuretics guy"), Heath, Wolf, Coleman (disgusting HGH belly) and Cutler (ha ha ha ha!)... All guys that are on infinitely more juices and doping than Arnold or any other 70's bodybuilder... Classic hater with brainless arguments, no more no less... Arnold in 1974 was a god, his best year, perfection...
@MrAlucard222 yeah, 1974 - the year of Arnolds best shape. You know I like people like Neilp77, that go against the flow. But at this point he goes against the person that motivated me, and millions of others to start bodybuilding. It won't be a suriprise if many of the bodybuilders that Neilp77 has mentioned were in some way motivated by Arnold. Though, in my opinion Arnold did a lot of things wrong to achieve his goals he still remains my first motivation and I am thankful to him for this.
@NamesShouldBeAvailab I totally agree with you... Even if Arnold had controversial behaviors in all his life, as a bodybuilder is a massive inspiration, and in my opinion his physique is great, overrated my balls...
@NamesShouldBeAvailab Of course Arnold was Weider protege. Arnold was Weider's boy. In the early days Arnold went up to work for Arthur Jones and was declined by Arthur due to Arnold's lifestyle and reputation at the time. Training 4 to 5 hours a day sometimes at 7 days week is much easier to train than balls all out for a short time. That's why he was able train that way. You can train hard or you can train long--you can't do them both.
Watch and learn why they called him the KING of BB! huge, thick, dense and muscular shape that has never been repeated! His double biceps and rear double are the still the standard today! geneticly gifted. his brachialis are the same size as haneys biceps!
I would put Arnold way ahead of gh freaks like Coleman-they too had weaknesses. Coleman his calves, his ordinary arms (too small for the over-stuffed upperbody) overdone too large at the top thighs etc etc.
Aesthetically Arnold puts them to shame-I only compare like with like-its not fair to compare shapeless monstrosities with Sergio,Arnold or Nubret-not fair on the shapeless monstrosities.
Arnold looked pretty good until he stood next to a massive physique of Phil Heath and many of today's champs that makes his physique, here...Should I say....Small. Lol! Shocking to say the least. Imagine, just imagine Arnold standing next to Paul Dillet (in his prime) who was about Arnold's height and who outweighed him tens of pounds--ripped. OMG!
According to Arnold (and many others) he said that Sergio was the greatest of all time.
@neilp77 I agree Neilp747, Arnold is tiny at 6'1.5, phil would eclipse him!, did you say he was only 175 or 218 or something before, while sergio 285lbs, no wonder! WOW LOL...
@PersianOak Wow. Dreaming up more stories since you cannot win any debates. Show me where I'm said that. Lol! Gee, you can't can you? Try tying a rope around your neck up jumping off a cliff. Okay?
@neilp77 True, Arnold if he were in his prime and competing against today's top bodybuilders would have to come in alot heavier than his 235 competitive weight...and he of course would be on all the current drugs so he probably would be competing at around 275.to 280
@moorigs Perhaps we'll never know, will we. That being said, Arnold would have to revamp his training style and would be forced to train his legs differently (and his weak points--which were many) than he did in the seventies or in the Olympia in 80 (legs looked puny).
Arnolds lats look unreal here, thick, with low waist tie inns! that double biceps pose has never been duplicated, those biceps deserve their own zip codes! simply unbelievable!
@Peter9761 Weider Principles? Ah, the ones that he stole from other people and just used his name to catalog them and provide definitions for each in his books. What a wipe. Lol!
i might add that Arnold had a great deal of true musclemass with additional fluid retention in 71 (you can really dinstinguish the bloat in his face, rarely looked that way in the face before or since, as far as im aware, and i judge by available pics). His face was puffy and the complete opposite to the face in 80. And he gradually, over time (1972-73-74), switched water retention for a bit more true muscle tissue -- so in 73-74 his arms reached 22 inches with newly achieved separation/cuts.
I don't think that the claim made by Jones is a hoax, but it's deceptive, and it doesn't convey the whole pic. As i mentioned before, body composition do change alot depending on food intake, and most of all, if the person in question is using Steroids, then a cessation of them will inevitably result in loss of both true muscle tissue as well a decrease in water retention. The logic is that Arnold most likely took breaks from Steroids, and one of those breaks coincided with his visit in Florida.
@Farshad86 By the way Jones was the only guy whose claimed that measurement and cold too. but lets ignore all the other previous and or subsequent claims for one calim that may perhaps negate Arnold, lol..
@PersianOak Of course, it's overly transparent. It's simply a cowardly attempt to muddy Arnold, and tear him down. The guy at the top is loved the most, as well as hated the most -- it's always like that.
It doesn't really matter wether his arm's measured 17 inch or 25 -- they looked like the were out of this world. Besides videoclips and pics speak louder than words :) And the things i said before about body composition, applies to Sergio as well. Sergio reached his all time best in 72, along with bigger arms than before.
@Farshad86 I say if you dont like him, call it jealousy or demented etcc... dont watch his videos, we are not interested in garbage info, these guys trying to make comments, its kinda like a nurse telling a surgeon about human anatomy! :)
Arnold had approx 19,5 inch in 1967 (video of him in blue trunks)...give or take a 0.5 inch. And somebody is claiming that Arnold's arms measured 19 inch in 1970 when Jones measured them -- well, then logic follows: Arnold had stopped taking Steroids for a while and hadn't been eating well since he was travelling-- you lose size and fullness. And then look at pic of Arnold taken during the 71 Olympia at 251lbs (114kg), those are no less than 21 inches, and they maxed out at 22 inch in 73-74.
Checkout the incredible arms of the new Olympia champ, Phil Heath. His gargantuan arms with the rest of his body being equally massive (with a small waist). He makes Arnold look like a deformed tulip.
Massive arms are owned by many of the top BB's would all exceeds Arnold's supposedly measurement claims. Lee Priest at 5'4" measured at over 21 inches cold. That includes superb triceps and forearms (something Arnold didn't have). That would probably crown him with the biggest for his height, of all time (Pro BBing). Lervone, Coleman, and too many to list here all exceeding 22", easily. Paul Dillet's were even larger at 24 inches! Goodness gracious.
Arnold has a museum? Really? Have you gotten tickets yet? You better run over here by all means and purchase them before they sell out! Quickly. Arnold the actor: The worst "Razzie" awards nominations (the first 25 years) with 8 and winning 1, in 2004. Promoter: Oh yeah, especially the one where he had his buddy, Franco winning in 81. Governor: A real dozy. Almost destroyed California's economy with the tax laws. He also gave a murderer less time to help out a friend. Nice job.
@neilp77 Farshad still talking to himself-and still claiming Arnold had 22"+ arms lol
Jones measured many bodybuilders, not just Arnold,no 22" arms could be found-maybe the fake thinks they were all 'taking a break' from steroids? What a joker.
@Peter9761 Arnold never stopped taking steroids til after he retired from bodybuilding, and it showed. He looks like shit now and had health problems.
@Peter9761 True, that Arnold used steroids very early in his life. Rick Wayne mentioned that Arnold gave him his first bottle of Dianabol in Munich in the 60's when Arnold was 19, and had been using them for several years before.
Sergio arms at 23"? Hey, why not. Sounds almost like people claiming that Arnold had somehow morphed his arms at 24"! Lol!
@2000weightmasters "Much like Mike Mentzer. He was a well known druggie...."
Arnold as well. He experimented with recreational drugs early in his life. Alot of bodybuilders are druggies. Tell us something we don't already know.
"Arnold as well. He experimented with recreational drugs early in his life. Alot of bodybuilders are druggies. Tell us something we don't already know."
Then why make such a big deal about Arnold using them? And there is no such thing as a crayon farm, dimwit.
@neilp77 Too smart for you drama queen!? now you are using profanity again! Take your tax payor funded meds and quit coming on Arnold videos to spread lies, rumors and selective comments :)
@PersianOak "Selective comments?" Hahaha! What do you think you've doing here OkieBoy? You're taking massive dosages of your own medicine. Please indulge in more stupid Arnold ramblings by means. We could use a good joke or two. Lol!
"True, that Arnold used steroids very early in his life. Rick Wayne mentioned that Arnold gave him his first bottle of Dianabol in Munich in the 60's when Arnold was 19, and had been using them for several years before."
Unlike Sergio who was all natural, of course. LOL, try harder, troll.
As Arnold said, there is was denying it when I walked on stage that i was the with my total package, there was just the fact that no one could come close and the rest is history.
Arnold already has a musuem dedicated to his unbeatable success as BB, Promoter, actor and governor! He is worth over 400 million dollars, show me any BB that can even come close! :)
Vince also says when Arnold made a visit to Australia again in 1974 at his peak that even though he did not measure Arnolds arms again, they were easily the biggest in the world, and all BB from around the globe were very impressed by his size!
I remember an Arnold print interview, he actually did say typically he measured his arms offseason and they were over 22"+(= 23 to 24" pumped) cold and he was measured at the 74 contest 22'1/4" in contest shape. Vince basiille also said in an interview that when Arnold came to Autrailia in 74 to guestpose off season, his arms were easily over 23". look at Arnolds book there is an extenede arm pose where the caption says he wanted to show the judges how huge his arms were! :)
On Venice beach Arnold was known as the man with those massive arms, I dont think any objective informed impatial person or BB woud dipute this fact, better yet watch his videos, after all a picture is worth a thousand hater words :)
@Peter9761 Weight claims that Arnold exceeding 269lbs and even 24" guns. Christ! I think of I heard it all, Pete. Lol! Arnold biceps were indeed large (for his time)--too bad they were almost as big as his skinny thighs.
Very strange-the non trainer Farshad thinks Arnolds arms were inches bigger with extra bodyweight, but also thinks they may have been bigger in 75,when Arnold was lighter,at 228-such is the logic of the fake :)
And I'm talking about drug users here-the natural can improve way beyond 5 years, though much more slowly. The user gets to his potential much more quickly-obviously.
The smaller the muscle, the less potential for growth.Arnold, just like everyone else, attained his potential re arm size within 5 years or so-after that its all about refinement-tiny differences.Nobody continues to grow indefinitely lol
Its interesting that the non trainer Farshad thinks that a few pounds extra bodyweight will make a difference to arm size. These are the suppositions of someone who understands nothing of the game.Arms get to their peak size more quickly than any other bodypart.Look at Coleman-his back continued to grow due to gh,his arms never changed.
Arnolds arms never grew more than a millimetre or two after approx 1968-69,this is quite normal.
Arnold-measured by Jones at just over 19" slightly pumped, during Arnolds one day stay in Florida,I believe around 1970.Arnold spending most of his time vomiting during a workout got on the next plane home-Franco stayed a week and loved it.
Sergio's measured at over 20" cold-the only arm Jones ever measured over 20"
I remember an Arnold print interview, he actually did say typically he measured his arms offseason and they were over 22"+(= 23 to 24" pumped) cold and he was measured at the 74 contest 22'1/4" in contest shape. @PersianOak There's no question that those arms measured 22 inch, complete with cut/separation. You don't even need to watch moving footage, you can easily size em up with a pair of trained eyes -- and then you imagine your own arms in comparison. There's a pic on the cover of Pumping Iron showing Arnold in a white tank top, doing bent overdumbell curl, moving the weight forward rather than towards the chest -- absolutly humungous and perfectly shaped and separated.
Is somebody gonna tell me that his arm in that particular pic is the same arm seen in the clip of him doing the same excercise in blue trunks? :) Don't be ignorant.
@Farshad86 just tell this joker Arnolds arms were 16" pumped and sergios lump of no shape or seperation at 5'8.5" height were 28" as measured by him and just gid rid of him! LOL...He just wants poeple to think he is smart with a wealth of rumors etc..but infact he twists truths or totally negates them as lies and believes what he wants, he desperatly wants viewers to follow his lies, he has a sergio channel,he blocks anyone thats not sergio crazy to comment, but trolls Arnold to spread crap!
Vince also says when Arnold made a visit to Australia again in 1974 at his peak that even though he did not measure Arnolds arms again, they were easily the biggest in the world, and all BB from around the globe were amazed at his size! :)
Vince Basille who was pro BB also claims he measured Arnolds arms 21" in the early years too, you can google his blog.
Im sure if one goes back to Arnold at 15 yrs old he might have had 16" arms which would help make a case that Arnold had small arms for the haters LOL...
@PersianOak Yeah, that made me laugh. It's just plain obvious. Heck the man had 13 inch arms at one point in time during his life -- that was before discovering dumbells & barbells :)
@Farshad86 I think those two need to take my advice get together with jessie as thier only audience and have their own Fake contest (they can use plastic toy figures) and maybe theyll quit coming on Arnold videos and spread BS, if u noticed Peter cheese didnt even know the name of jonses company, but did take the supposed arm measurment from 60s as Arnolds peak arm measurement, just plain laughable! lol...
@2000weightmasters Very true, the type these two find to justify their irrational comments.LOL.., oh lets forget about the other guys from rick wayne to vince basille, robbie robinson etc that were actual BB who actually trained with Arnold and did measure his height arm size. LOL...
@PersianOak You have mentioned Vince Basile over and over again. Do you know he wrote an article back in 80 Olympia called "Random Reflections" and stated that he thought Arnold shouldn't of won that contest. Did you know that, Oakie?
@neilp77 He actually stated later that he changed his mind as he looked at the photos and footage that Arnold did deserve to win! and that he and other BB were very impressed by arnolds size also Robbie as early as this year on Ric Drasin youtube account said Arnold was the KING of BB for a decade and rick wayne also said the same over many years and as late as 1984 where he proclaimed Arnold could beat bannout and haney! OK Girl friend! LOL....
@PersianOak Also, Arnold did not dominate the whole decade, as we have been thru this amusement ride once before. You can't seem to get off of it. Arnold was not present 76 thru 79, so how could be have dominated the decade. It doesn't matter if Rick, Robbie, Delmar Schwarts, or anyone else say that he would of. Could of, would of. Was he there 76 thru 79? Well, was he? Anything else, PersiaBoy?
@PersianOak You didn't know? Well, that's typical. How can you make a stament in saying that Arnold dominated the decade when he wasn't there? Doesn't make any sense. Are you shooting up?
@PersianOak Has it dawned on you that if he did indeed changed his mind like you claimed he did, was it because he become friends with Arnold? Has that occurred to you? In 80, and the years that followed after that, he thought that Dennis Tinerino should of won. Do you understand DoggieBoy? Lol!
A young Arnold was paid to visit his facitlies in florida, where jones claimed that his nautilus machines where suprerior to free weights, Arnold felt that they were usefull but would not replace free weights! we now know who was correct! LOL... and Arthur jones claims he measured one of Arnolds arms in 1968 at age 20, cold 19+ and if at all accurate maybe Arnold was off the sauce or after one of his famous one month layoffs every year to save his joints etc..
@PersianOak Precisely, no bodybuilder is constantly in peak form all the time. Body composition can fluctuate a great deal within just one year. To claim that Arnold had 20" arms when he was at in his best shape is preposterous, that would mean that Arnold's muscles stayed the same from 1967-68 to 1973-74 ... :/ Now i do trust Arthur Jones statement, but the measuring happened during a time when Arnold at just 20-21 y/o was still in the process of growing bigger.
Arnold had 20" inch arms in contest condition when he first competed in us at age 21, by the height of his career he had 22"+ cold arms in offseason, 22"1/4 as measured at 1974 olympia.
Arthur jones was an eccentric type guy who developed Nautilus equipment that I personally used in the eighties. since then we now have hammer strenght equip.:)
@katie09796 Arnold in fact had 22"+ arms in off season cold, in 1974 at his peak his arms where measured at 22"1/4 for his right arm at the olympia contest. now this was done when he was ripped, that my friend is huge arms. Dorian and Haney both had under 20" arms in contest condition.Read my comments above for the story of Arthur Jones that develpoed Nautilus equipment back in the day.
Arnold was the tallest and biggest Mr. olympia winner ever. He was 260+ off season and 238 to 245 in contest shape. Phil heath is 5'9 and when LT askes himabout his weight at the 2011 olympia, he kinda avoided the answer by saying he did not weigh himself but he was around 240, dexter jackson is 225 in contest shape and as Lt said they all lie about thier weight and kai green told him he was 257 and he was lying too!
you lose at least an inch or two when you diet down at that size level, my own arms at 256lbs are 20" cold and i can tell you with pump they are at least 1 inch bigger, now to put it into perspective if I dieted down to contest shape, I would lose at least 1 to 2 inches=19", big arms hold alot of fluid that give you size until you diet down, Arnold had 221/4" in contest shape, that is really huge..:)
@PersianOak Sure, i actually meant that he had 22" at his most massive shape, when he was onstage -- 6% bodyfat while holding very little fluid in the muscles.
Arnold had the best basic bone/muscle structure EVER. Those are physical traits that are totally genetic, but then comes the HARD WORK for years to acheive the ideal physique.
Paul Dillet's arms were massive (complete with triceps) and toppled many BB's in his era. Dillet also has legs and incredible hang in his hamstrings, unlike skinny Arnold. His relaxed pose remains one of the freaky and best of all time.
Speaking of Nasser, he quoted on Arnold: "I did not have an idol in bodybuilding or sport in general either. I did not want to look, for example, like Arnold because I realized from my analytical way that as a person he had weak legs, droopy shoulders and a huge waist." Nasser made Arnold look like a skinny cancer-ridden patient. Nasser obtain Coleman-like size in the ninties in which he was the biggest competitor at that time, reaching 285lbs. and over 330lbs more in the offseason.
@neilp77 Nasser is weighing 315 lbs (with clothes & shoes on) these days, though i suspect his weight constitutes a great deal of other things ... other than pure muscle...you know :) It's true that he was one of the biggest during the 90's -- even though he didn't have the same sort of round muscle bellies like Coleman, plus his back was comparatively weaker to the others (lacked separation), as if he held water in his back. Legs were really cut and freaky, plus huge arms and shoulders.
More ridiculous posts from a delusional Arnold fanatic who claims he has interviewed famous BB's. Hahaha! Keep dreaming insane one. Keep praying to the pathological liar, you know, the one who cheated on his wife and lied to his family. Your hero, alright.
Ronnie Coleman has won more Olympia titles and more first places finishes than anyone is history and that's a fact, Jack. Ronnie with 8, and ArnieBoy with 7. Ronnie Coleman weight was at 296 in 2004, Aruuunold in 74 at 237. Damn, that over 57 pounds differance at a much shorter height. Strengthwise, Ronnie decimates Arnold--no contest. Next!
@PersianOak That's a bit too much for a bb back in the day. As a matter of fact, rarely modern freaks rarely reach 24" (unless they use inflate the muscle with oil). Arnold had 22" (during his peak 73-74), which was sensational during that era, especially since synthol wasn't available, hence nobody could inflate his arms to cartoonish proportions like Valentino did. Arnold's arms measured 19" at 20 y/o in 1967.
@Farshad86 hey buddy, I remember an Arnold print interview, he actually did say typically he measured his arms offseason and they were over 22"+(= 23 to 24" pumped) cold and he was measured at the 74 contest 22'1/4" in contest shape. Vince basiille also said in an interview that when Arnold came to Autrailia in 74 to guestpose off season, his arms were easily over 23". look at Arnolds book there is an extenede arm pose where the caption says he wanted to show the judges how huge his arms where
Arnold did actually weigh 251 to 255 in 1970 and 1973-1974, he actually still weighed 238 dried up, the night after posing in prejudging and night show against lou ferrigno! again any real BB knows that a BB the size of Arnold can lose as much as 10 lbs and wants to lose all water in one day of posing or training.
Again, childish rumer posts that my hero is bigger than yours without enough knowledege about the sport just shows the ignorence of the claimant not the athlete in question!
Lee haney at 5'10 weighed 233 or so and was stocky in the chest thighs but small arms and calves. a truly big guy was Nasser el sonbaty that weighed 265 in contest condition but he was not bigger than Arnold in actual chest, arms and calves, but was very thick mid section, glutes and legs! and any BB can tell you that your legs can carry alot of mass.
It's amazing as tall as Arnold was, he only 237lb in his peak condition in 74 (his best year). Jesus. Dexter Jackson is 5ft 7' 245lbs and is considered small. Incredulous! The new Olympian champ Phil Heath outweighs Arnold with bigger arms, better back, and actually has legs that match his upperbody. Arnold? Well.........
@Peter9761 Hahaha! Yeah, coming from someone who has supposedly interviewed famous bodybuilders from the past. Jesus. Sounds like someone who has escaped from the crayon farm, Pete.
See this thing about Arnold is that he worked out every muscle completely equally, that is why he looks so good and proportionate. Id say EVERY muscle on his body is almost "maxed" out except for maybe his abs, but maybe his genetics just wont let him get his abs any more aesthetic.

Next!
neilp77 2 months ago
@neilp77 Not that overrated. People rate by comparing and by doing so, they see that Arnold is mostly the best. He developed that that huge and closest to perfection body in the 70's without using growth hormone (as do all of them bodybuilders you've mentioned today) and by overtraining that much(3 hours of training a day) - it's just impressive! Still I think, if Arnold would use Mentzers HIT training (instead of Weiders lots of volume kind of shit) then I think he would succeed even more.
NamesShouldBeAvailab 2 months ago
@NamesShouldBeAvailab Yes overrated, I'm afraid so--sorry. People see Arnold in movies and politics, so he is easily indentified with the media. Arnold's physique was not perfect, not by a long shot. His thighs was incredibly thin with a chest that complete dwarfed his delts. His triceps did not match his peaked biceps. And shoulders were also sloped. Arnold ingested more chemical than his opposition (also rumoured that he using GH from human cadavers in which were used by BB's in the 70's).
neilp77 2 months ago
@neilp77 Why did he need big thighs? The V shape was his goal not the freaky X shape. His peaked biceps looked great with his triceps + he had 22 inch arms at his peak physique. Many bodybuilders get that number with an enormously huge triceps and with a small biceps. So in some ways Arnolds arms were of an unique proportion. His delts did not pop out too much, I think that was great because what made him look big and wide were his wide chest and back but not the round ball like deltoids.
NamesShouldBeAvailab 2 months ago
@NamesShouldBeAvailab Why did he need big thighs? Well, Gee--they were quite small with no hamstrings. He was a Y-Shape instead of the required X-shape most competitors displayed. Very doubtful Arnold had 22" arms as Arthur Jones measured them at over 19" Arnold had amazing biceps--but small triceps and no forearms which constitutes 2/3th of arm mass. A chest the overpowers the delts in not the correct proportions my friend. Look at the delts today and Sergio's. Arnold were tiny compare to them.
neilp77 2 months ago
@neilp77 Arnold was taller than anyone else he competed with. Having those long bones, he still managed to put a lot of muscle on them. And, I don't want to offend anyone but, the X shape was a short bodybuilders thing. + his arms were long too, so on those bones muscles of 19" in diameter would look flatter compared to what Arnold had. Talking about shoulders, I personally didn't like the way that Arnold 3D model looked in Terminator 4.
NamesShouldBeAvailab 2 months ago
@neilp77 Still no signs of GH use seen in Arnold. Today all the top bodybuilders have the increased in size stomachs because of GH use. Arnolds waist was always thin and flat that made his upper body look even bigger.
NamesShouldBeAvailab 2 months ago
@NamesShouldBeAvailab If you look at Arnold's face in the early 70's, you'll noticed he had hints of acromegaly. Had gapped teeth, frontal bossing, chin enlargement, etc; He corrective surgery later to remove these traits. He obviously did not abuse GH (human cadevers) as it was in experimental stages during those times.
neilp77 2 months ago
@neilp77 Possibly you're right, I also heard those rumors. But still Arnold looked not the round-muscle-mountain-with-a-big-stomach way, as for example Coleman does.
NamesShouldBeAvailab 2 months ago
@NamesShouldBeAvailab It's hard to say how Arnold would reacted to Heavy Duty because it's incredibly brutal. Arnold trained HIT (Arthur Jones invited him back in 70's) for two days. He puked and left for home. He could not handled the treshold required to workout in this brutal matter. Very few could handle such workouts. Casey, Mentzer, Oliva and some others stayed with it, with great results.
neilp77 2 months ago
@neilp77 Arnold was a Weiders protege. He could not train HIT because of the way it didn't match the principles dictated by Weider(listen to me, read my magazines, overtrain 3h a day, eat 60% of protein, buy my supplements). I agree with the fact that Heavy Duty training is brutal but still I think he would handle it - training 3h a day isn't as easy too.
NamesShouldBeAvailab 2 months ago
@NamesShouldBeAvailab Leave Neilp77, classic Arnold's hater, he even compares Arnold, a champ of the '70 when steroids were almost the only big thing to use, with freak like Dillet (the "diuretics guy"), Heath, Wolf, Coleman (disgusting HGH belly) and Cutler (ha ha ha ha!)... All guys that are on infinitely more juices and doping than Arnold or any other 70's bodybuilder... Classic hater with brainless arguments, no more no less... Arnold in 1974 was a god, his best year, perfection...
MrAlucard222 2 months ago
@MrAlucard222 yeah, 1974 - the year of Arnolds best shape. You know I like people like Neilp77, that go against the flow. But at this point he goes against the person that motivated me, and millions of others to start bodybuilding. It won't be a suriprise if many of the bodybuilders that Neilp77 has mentioned were in some way motivated by Arnold. Though, in my opinion Arnold did a lot of things wrong to achieve his goals he still remains my first motivation and I am thankful to him for this.
NamesShouldBeAvailab 2 months ago
@NamesShouldBeAvailab I totally agree with you... Even if Arnold had controversial behaviors in all his life, as a bodybuilder is a massive inspiration, and in my opinion his physique is great, overrated my balls...
MrAlucard222 2 months ago
@NamesShouldBeAvailab Of course Arnold was Weider protege. Arnold was Weider's boy. In the early days Arnold went up to work for Arthur Jones and was declined by Arthur due to Arnold's lifestyle and reputation at the time. Training 4 to 5 hours a day sometimes at 7 days week is much easier to train than balls all out for a short time. That's why he was able train that way. You can train hard or you can train long--you can't do them both.
neilp77 2 months ago

I would put Arnold way ahead of gh freaks like Coleman-they too had weaknesses. Coleman his calves, his ordinary arms (too small for the over-stuffed upperbody) overdone too large at the top thighs etc etc.
Aesthetically Arnold puts them to shame-I only compare like with like-its not fair to compare shapeless monstrosities with Sergio,Arnold or Nubret-not fair on the shapeless monstrosities.

@neilp77 True, Arnold if he were in his prime and competing against today's top bodybuilders would have to come in alot heavier than his 235 competitive weight...and he of course would be on all the current drugs so he probably would be competing at around 275.to 280
moorigs 4 weeks ago
@moorigs Perhaps we'll never know, will we. That being said, Arnold would have to revamp his training style and would be forced to train his legs differently (and his weak points--which were many) than he did in the seventies or in the Olympia in 80 (legs looked puny).

i might add that Arnold had a great deal of true musclemass with additional fluid retention in 71 (you can really dinstinguish the bloat in his face, rarely looked that way in the face before or since, as far as im aware, and i judge by available pics). His face was puffy and the complete opposite to the face in 80. And he gradually, over time (1972-73-74), switched water retention for a bit more true muscle tissue -- so in 73-74 his arms reached 22 inches with newly achieved separation/cuts.
Farshad86 2 months ago
I don't think that the claim made by Jones is a hoax, but it's deceptive, and it doesn't convey the whole pic. As i mentioned before, body composition do change alot depending on food intake, and most of all, if the person in question is using Steroids, then a cessation of them will inevitably result in loss of both true muscle tissue as well a decrease in water retention. The logic is that Arnold most likely took breaks from Steroids, and one of those breaks coincided with his visit in Florida.
Farshad86 2 months ago
Don't just blindly accept Jones statement as, so called "fact". Make a pause for thought! :)
Farshad86 2 months ago
@Farshad86 By the way Jones was the only guy whose claimed that measurement and cold too. but lets ignore all the other previous and or subsequent claims for one calim that may perhaps negate Arnold, lol..
PersianOak 2 months ago
@PersianOak Of course, it's overly transparent. It's simply a cowardly attempt to muddy Arnold, and tear him down. The guy at the top is loved the most, as well as hated the most -- it's always like that.
Farshad86 2 months ago
It doesn't really matter wether his arm's measured 17 inch or 25 -- they looked like the were out of this world. Besides videoclips and pics speak louder than words :) And the things i said before about body composition, applies to Sergio as well. Sergio reached his all time best in 72, along with bigger arms than before.
Farshad86 2 months ago
@Farshad86 I say if you dont like him, call it jealousy or demented etcc... dont watch his videos, we are not interested in garbage info, these guys trying to make comments, its kinda like a nurse telling a surgeon about human anatomy! :)
PersianOak 2 months ago
Arnold had approx 19,5 inch in 1967 (video of him in blue trunks)...give or take a 0.5 inch. And somebody is claiming that Arnold's arms measured 19 inch in 1970 when Jones measured them -- well, then logic follows: Arnold had stopped taking Steroids for a while and hadn't been eating well since he was travelling-- you lose size and fullness. And then look at pic of Arnold taken during the 71 Olympia at 251lbs (114kg), those are no less than 21 inches, and they maxed out at 22 inch in 73-74.
Farshad86 2 months ago

Massive arms are owned by many of the top BB's would all exceeds Arnold's supposedly measurement claims. Lee Priest at 5'4" measured at over 21 inches cold. That includes superb triceps and forearms (something Arnold didn't have). That would probably crown him with the biggest for his height, of all time (Pro BBing). Lervone, Coleman, and too many to list here all exceeding 22", easily. Paul Dillet's were even larger at 24 inches! Goodness gracious.

Very strange-the non trainer Farshad thinks Arnolds arms were inches bigger with extra bodyweight, but also thinks they may have been bigger in 75,when Arnold was lighter,at 228-such is the logic of the fake :)
Peter9761 2 months ago
And I'm talking about drug users here-the natural can improve way beyond 5 years, though much more slowly. The user gets to his potential much more quickly-obviously.
Peter9761 2 months ago
The smaller the muscle, the less potential for growth.Arnold, just like everyone else, attained his potential re arm size within 5 years or so-after that its all about refinement-tiny differences.Nobody continues to grow indefinitely lol
Peter9761 2 months ago
Its interesting that the non trainer Farshad thinks that a few pounds extra bodyweight will make a difference to arm size. These are the suppositions of someone who understands nothing of the game.Arms get to their peak size more quickly than any other bodypart.Look at Coleman-his back continued to grow due to gh,his arms never changed.
Arnolds arms never grew more than a millimetre or two after approx 1968-69,this is quite normal.

Peter9761 2 months ago
Arnold-measured by Jones at just over 19" slightly pumped, during Arnolds one day stay in Florida,I believe around 1970.Arnold spending most of his time vomiting during a workout got on the next plane home-Franco stayed a week and loved it.
Sergio's measured at over 20" cold-the only arm Jones ever measured over 20"
Or you can believe the Weider bullshit :))

PersianOak 2 months ago
@PersianOak There's no question that those arms measured 22 inch, complete with cut/separation. You don't even need to watch moving footage, you can easily size em up with a pair of trained eyes -- and then you imagine your own arms in comparison. There's a pic on the cover of Pumping Iron showing Arnold in a white tank top, doing bent overdumbell curl, moving the weight forward rather than towards the chest -- absolutly humungous and perfectly shaped and separated.
Farshad86 2 months ago
@Farshad86 True!
PersianOak 2 months ago
Is somebody gonna tell me that his arm in that particular pic is the same arm seen in the clip of him doing the same excercise in blue trunks? :) Don't be ignorant.
Farshad86 2 months ago
It's plain obvious that his arm changed -- his muscle had matured-- hence a higher measurement in 71 to 74 (or even 75 for that matter)
Farshad86 2 months ago
@Farshad86 just tell this joker Arnolds arms were 16" pumped and sergios lump of no shape or seperation at 5'8.5" height were 28" as measured by him and just gid rid of him! LOL...He just wants poeple to think he is smart with a wealth of rumors etc..but infact he twists truths or totally negates them as lies and believes what he wants, he desperatly wants viewers to follow his lies, he has a sergio channel,he blocks anyone thats not sergio crazy to comment, but trolls Arnold to spread crap!
PersianOak 2 months ago
Vince also says when Arnold made a visit to Australia again in 1974 at his peak that even though he did not measure Arnolds arms again, they were easily the biggest in the world, and all BB from around the globe were amazed at his size! :)
PersianOak 2 months ago
Vince Basille who was pro BB also claims he measured Arnolds arms 21" in the early years too, you can google his blog.
Im sure if one goes back to Arnold at 15 yrs old he might have had 16" arms which would help make a case that Arnold had small arms for the haters LOL...
PersianOak 2 months ago
@PersianOak Yeah, that made me laugh. It's just plain obvious. Heck the man had 13 inch arms at one point in time during his life -- that was before discovering dumbells & barbells :)
Farshad86 2 months ago
@Farshad86 I think those two need to take my advice get together with jessie as thier only audience and have their own Fake contest (they can use plastic toy figures) and maybe theyll quit coming on Arnold videos and spread BS, if u noticed Peter cheese didnt even know the name of jonses company, but did take the supposed arm measurment from 60s as Arnolds peak arm measurement, just plain laughable! lol...

@PersianOak
Arthur Jones was a well known crack pot. Nothing he said should have been taken seriously, "The Colorado Experiment" anyone? LOL!
2000weightmasters 2 months ago
@2000weightmasters Very true, the type these two find to justify their irrational comments.LOL.., oh lets forget about the other guys from rick wayne to vince basille, robbie robinson etc that were actual BB who actually trained with Arnold and did measure his height arm size. LOL...
PersianOak 2 months ago
@PersianOak You have mentioned Vince Basile over and over again. Do you know he wrote an article back in 80 Olympia called "Random Reflections" and stated that he thought Arnold shouldn't of won that contest. Did you know that, Oakie?
neilp77 2 months ago

Anything else, PersiaBoy?
neilp77 2 months ago
@neilp77 thanks for your expert analysis, i didnt know Arnold didnt compete in 76,77,78,79! thanks again! LOL..
PersianOak 2 months ago
@PersianOak You didn't know? Well, that's typical. How can you make a stament in saying that Arnold dominated the decade when he wasn't there? Doesn't make any sense. Are you shooting up?

@PersianOak Has it dawned on you that if he did indeed changed his mind like you claimed he did, was it because he become friends with Arnold? Has that occurred to you? In 80, and the years that followed after that, he thought that Dennis Tinerino should of won. Do you understand DoggieBoy? Lol!
neilp77 2 months ago
A young Arnold was paid to visit his facitlies in florida, where jones claimed that his nautilus machines where suprerior to free weights, Arnold felt that they were usefull but would not replace free weights! we now know who was correct! LOL... and Arthur jones claims he measured one of Arnolds arms in 1968 at age 20, cold 19+ and if at all accurate maybe Arnold was off the sauce or after one of his famous one month layoffs every year to save his joints etc..
PersianOak 2 months ago
@PersianOak Precisely, no bodybuilder is constantly in peak form all the time. Body composition can fluctuate a great deal within just one year. To claim that Arnold had 20" arms when he was at in his best shape is preposterous, that would mean that Arnold's muscles stayed the same from 1967-68 to 1973-74 ... :/ Now i do trust Arthur Jones statement, but the measuring happened during a time when Arnold at just 20-21 y/o was still in the process of growing bigger.
Farshad86 2 months ago
Arnold had 20" inch arms in contest condition when he first competed in us at age 21, by the height of his career he had 22"+ cold arms in offseason, 22"1/4 as measured at 1974 olympia.
Arthur jones was an eccentric type guy who developed Nautilus equipment that I personally used in the eighties. since then we now have hammer strenght equip.:)
PersianOak 2 months ago
He measured Arnold, slightly pumped. Also Sergio (20 1/4 cold) Viator and many others.
Peter9761 2 months ago
Lol
Arnolds arms were just over 19"
As measured by Jones.

go look at a comparison of arnold to dorian cuz dorian even admited, his arm's biggest measurements were 19.5 inchs and arnolds are bigger
katie09796 2 months ago 2
@katie09796 Err yeah,because Dorians weren't that size.
Heard of Arthur Jones?
Peter9761 2 months ago
@Peter9761
he made like workout equipment. i think he was mentioned in pumping iron in an out take, why?
katie09796 2 months ago

PersianOak 2 months ago
you lose at least an inch or two when you diet down at that size level, my own arms at 256lbs are 20" cold and i can tell you with pump they are at least 1 inch bigger, now to put it into perspective if I dieted down to contest shape, I would lose at least 1 to 2 inches=19", big arms hold alot of fluid that give you size until you diet down, Arnold had 221/4" in contest shape, that is really huge..:)
PersianOak 2 months ago
@PersianOak Sure, i actually meant that he had 22" at his most massive shape, when he was onstage -- 6% bodyfat while holding very little fluid in the muscles.
Farshad86 2 months ago
Arnold had the best basic bone/muscle structure EVER. Those are physical traits that are totally genetic, but then comes the HARD WORK for years to acheive the ideal physique.
ironray123 2 months ago 2
Paul Dillet's arms were massive (complete with triceps) and toppled many BB's in his era. Dillet also has legs and incredible hang in his hamstrings, unlike skinny Arnold. His relaxed pose remains one of the freaky and best of all time.
neilp77 2 months ago
Speaking of Nasser, he quoted on Arnold: "I did not have an idol in bodybuilding or sport in general either. I did not want to look, for example, like Arnold because I realized from my analytical way that as a person he had weak legs, droopy shoulders and a huge waist." Nasser made Arnold look like a skinny cancer-ridden patient. Nasser obtain Coleman-like size in the ninties in which he was the biggest competitor at that time, reaching 285lbs. and over 330lbs more in the offseason.
neilp77 2 months ago
@neilp77 Nasser is weighing 315 lbs (with clothes & shoes on) these days, though i suspect his weight constitutes a great deal of other things ... other than pure muscle...you know :) It's true that he was one of the biggest during the 90's -- even though he didn't have the same sort of round muscle bellies like Coleman, plus his back was comparatively weaker to the others (lacked separation), as if he held water in his back. Legs were really cut and freaky, plus huge arms and shoulders.
Farshad86 2 months ago
@Farshad86 Oh and, let's not forget, he had the best abdominals in the game -- 10 pack! Talk about symmetri! :)
Farshad86 2 months ago

Next!
neilp77 2 months ago
arnold doesn't compare to RON COLEMAN OR PHIL HEATH HIS physique wouldn't even place in the top ten

Those true 24" off season guns look like 25lbs hams!
PersianOak 2 months ago
@PersianOak That's a bit too much for a bb back in the day. As a matter of fact, rarely modern freaks rarely reach 24" (unless they use inflate the muscle with oil). Arnold had 22" (during his peak 73-74), which was sensational during that era, especially since synthol wasn't available, hence nobody could inflate his arms to cartoonish proportions like Valentino did. Arnold's arms measured 19" at 20 y/o in 1967.

Arnold is one HUGE dude.
PersianOak 2 months ago
judges dont ask BB to bring a scale but a super massive conditioned body as Arnold came in with! :)
PersianOak 2 months ago
Arnold did actually weigh 251 to 255 in 1970 and 1973-1974, he actually still weighed 238 dried up, the night after posing in prejudging and night show against lou ferrigno! again any real BB knows that a BB the size of Arnold can lose as much as 10 lbs and wants to lose all water in one day of posing or training.
PersianOak 2 months ago
Again, childish rumer posts that my hero is bigger than yours without enough knowledege about the sport just shows the ignorence of the claimant not the athlete in question!
PersianOak 2 months ago
Lee haney at 5'10 weighed 233 or so and was stocky in the chest thighs but small arms and calves. a truly big guy was Nasser el sonbaty that weighed 265 in contest condition but he was not bigger than Arnold in actual chest, arms and calves, but was very thick mid section, glutes and legs! and any BB can tell you that your legs can carry alot of mass.

Arnold? Well.........
neilp77 2 months ago
@neilp77 And now Arnold had "24 guns" too LOL!
Try just over "19"
