No...the main reason it was decomissioned is because LF systems are required to produce an audible tone when warnings are issued and the 3000 was incapable of doing so.
i didn't record the video, it was given to me by someone else...but yes, if something sounds wrong with the music it was probably the recorder...this video came from a VHS tape, which you have to remember is not exactly high quality...
A rare video of the WS3000 in the 21st century. It even still has the travel cities forecast! I'm not surprised that it was decomissioned right after this.
Thats so cool. There where 2 heck of a storms here in So Cal that October. One of them brought like 4 inches of rain and max winds of 75 MPH that night. I remember going to school in the morning and seeing some small street flooding and all sorts of tree limbs and stuff in the roads.
the music sounds like its f****d up. was that one the reasons it was decommissioned two months later

I miss this one too! This is the one I grew up on! It would be nice if someone made an emulator of this one. Brings back old weather memories!
