  • Thanks, bralwin :-) The sounds in those sections may be stock synths I'm playing in Live. I can't remember. Probably so, though for this quick demo. I believe the Puremagnetik sounds were in the beginning. The big synth may be a PM synth though. For pitch bend, my right foot switches to a CV pedal (EV-5 by Boss/Roland) and my left foot is controlling sustain of notes/chords. Hope that helps!

  • Hey McKay that was a great demo- and excellent performance! Thanks for all of the knowledge sharing as well- have never heard of Puremagnetik before will have to check that out- would you mind sharing what you were using for the sounds @ 1:58-2:30, a Puremagnetik sound? Are you controlling pitch with a pedal- similar to pitch bend wheel on a keyboard? I might have missed this- what pedals are you using as well? Thanks again man! Keep creating!

  • Those are DIY triggers I made out of PVC caps from the hardware store and piezos from Radio Shack. I use them for turning fx on and off or for triggering loops in Live.

  • What are the row of triggers above the drumkat?

  • sick mate!

  • Good video Dave but I don't know how to get you in my friends' list but I'll keep looking, Malc

  • @mk7mk77 Thanks :-) Good luck with those triggers. Post a pic when ya get 'em knocked out!

  • Nice!

  • im having with midi btween the Drumkat and the Akai Z8.. what do you suggest??

  • hahah its sounds like my ringtone

  • hey man, how is one of these different to a sampling pad e.g roland spd-s?

  • @crazydan121 Many ways. The drumkat is a MIDI controller only, no internal sounds or sampling. The unit uses FSR sensors instead of piezo so you can hold your stick or hand down on a pad and it will continue to send a sustained note like a keyboard. You can also record MIDI phrases (called motifs) and trigger them back at will.

  • Very nice...what were you using to change the sound patches?

  • Hi. Thanks! Usually on live gigs I use two pads for changing drumkat kits up or down. In this video I programmed Ableton Live to send MIDI program changes to the drumkat to change its kits just before each section. Super easy to do and quite liberating :-)

  • This is sick!

  • Very cool.

  • McKay, what are those little triggers in your set up? Did you make them?

  • Hi. Yes. Made of rubber PVC pipe caps and some piezos. Good for triggering samples or turning fx on and off :-)

  • Cool triggers. How do you mount them?

  • taking it to the next level! sounds amazing.

  • You are a rock star!!!
