CMU is great, but they dont train you in "musical theatre", they train you as an actor, it just so happpens the m.t.'s get voice and dance, its the whole acting program with voice and dance classes.

UMICH is number 1! My first choice for auds next year is deff CMU

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. Umich has an outstanding program but I don't think that they are rank #1 in the country. CCM and BOCO are the front runners. Without a doubt though CCM, BOCO, NCT, CMU, Umich and OU are the places to be for musical theatre.

that's what I heard! And I respect your opinion! I love CCM but I think they come off as kind of cocky but that's just me.

Yeah, they sort of are. I had to come in contact with them for my auditions this year and it wasn't the most welcoming experience. I think it has to do with their whole process to intimidate you and see how far they can go and you still keep your composure. In the long run I just decided Boston is more of a better fit for me. CCM is still an AMAZING PROGRAM. Just not for me.

you've left a number of places off that list, most importantly NYU, which produces better talent than most of those places....

absolutely, all those schools are great [haven't heard so much about nct?], but as far as i know, national rankings about 2 years ago went something like..... 1-CMU, CCM, Otterbein, Umich, NYU......

the thing is, there are a TON of great schools out there, it just depends on what you want. CMU and Otterbein are way more acting-heavy, while CCM gives you great dance... it all depends on what you want/need.

It just doesn't seem like it's the right kind of atmosphere for me. Some schools might work some people but CMU just doesn't fit what I'm looking for. BUT I do hope you get in!!!

Yeah me too! Thanks for the encouragement...I really don't have the SAT Scores to get in...but I here that CMU looks more at the audition than the test scores..I hope you get in too!
