I don't normally watch clips from tv shows that I like but with this I just can't help it. This episode can bring me to tears in just a few short minutes. It's so terrifying a possibility to loose one's mind that to see it played out by a character who depends so much on his mind, it's horrifying.

Why is it that the good shows which tackle this sort of thing are the first to be cancelled when other's are left on air which are basically worthless?? I don't get that. :(

One of the best scenes from one of the best episodes of one of the greatest Sci-Fi series ever. So I buy the DVD set looking forward to the audio commentary. Guess what-no commentary for 'The Shrine'; other episodes, yes, but for this gem, nothing. This episode was a beautifully written character study of the team and their relationships (particularly McKay and Sheppard's), and no one had the sense to do a commentary. What were the producers thinking? Too bad, would have been interesting...

A most adorable set of scenes and I just about died at the Arthur moment then the giggles the two of them got for it. John just about falls off the pier. ^_^ Course, I was hooked to the scene as soon as I found myself asking, "...Is that a panda? John wears panda pjs..." I found this astonishingly amazing.

I'm definitely no McKay/John Shipper - urgh, the very thought. But I love these two scenes which are the perfect depiction of their friendship. I laughed so hard at the Arthur joke at the end of the pier scene I almost broke a rib. Wonderful.

Even though SGA is not my favourite show of all time (RIP NUMB3RS) this is easily my most loved scene from any tv or movie. ;)

The writing award was well deserved but DH and JF should have won something for their great acting! DH was totally amazing throughout the episode and JF pulled off, perfectly, the whole bottled up emotions he hadwhen remembering the scene, etc...

This was easily the most powerful scene in the episode, Rodney voicing his fear of what's happening to him is somehow so much more powerful than seeing him already gone. Why can't we have more of Atlantis a show that makes you want to cry because you care about the characters not SGU a show that makes you want to cry because it's so bloody bleak.

Damn you sci fi channel first SG1 now this they should both have had many more seasons.

Rodney & John were kind of like Atlantis' version of Jack & Daniel, w / a few differences. Rodney had a big ego, but he was likeable, kind of like Charles Emerson Winchester III from MASH.

I wish I could find the entire episode on - line. I truly especially liked this one.

This is my favorite scene of any episode of Atlantis. You don't even have to be a McShep shipper to love it, because it just highlights beautifully the friendship between these two which is part of the core of the show. Not to mention David Hewlett is amazing in this episode.
