  • Back in the day cracklin was made with the white corn meal.You made it with your regular homemade corn bread.Im going to try it this way it looks so good and with the sweet corn bread sounds like a good thing.THANKS

  • you can go in the grocery store and ask the meat manager for them. They are pork cracklins. nope bacon wont due

  • Hummm...I've never made it with cracklin pieces in it before. I guess if you can use bacon drippings and/or some pieces of bacon, this is the same concept. I'm going to have to try it. Thanks!

  • @blakkandi up here in Michigan we have snacks called Pork Rinds, but they are fried to the consistency of a potato chip... I have never seen what you added. could bacon be substituted?

  • Craklin is hard so does it soften up in the cornbread? my mom loves it! she was born in tennesee but raised in mississippi. she is so addited at this moment she is ashamed to go into the store where she buys them! lol

  • @kkimberly2004 yes they do get soft. Not all cracklins are hard. check the pack that you purchase. They should feel kinda sorts soft.
