Not all the Pokemon were bad, but seriously let's face it, the story was pretty bad. And its in my opinion that Black and White is better. Don't get worked up.
@kirbyfan1005 Imo, the black and white story was really bad. It was basically just Peta, but for pokemon. At least in gen 2, they were trying to make anything over the top and just kind of like a sequel to gen 1.

I can read quite clearly, thank you. You stated that it was pointless to battle Red. I submit that Pikachu's sharp increase in difficulty due to the Light Ball overrides any Snorlax who, even in the originals, did nothing but stall and make you angry as it Rested constantly. I'll give you Espeon, though. I liked that Espeon.
His Pikachu was ass then, and it will be ass now. And that's how it should be, because it was a great memory from my childhood. Snorlax did nothing but stall and make you angry? Yes, exactly. That's why Red was so hard, if it wasn't for his Snorlax, no one would have remembered him and he would have been no different than any other trainer in the game.
Snorlax couldn't be defeated easy(yet a fighting type or stat changing moves make him cake.) but he could't defeat you as well. It kind of works, but it is not a refined way of making it difficult.
I do agree Red lost much of it's difficulty, but the battle is still epic, due to the fact that Pikachu is rather strong for a base form pokemon, and the setting and all..
Any in-game battle is rather easy anyway, with a few tricky pokemon like Miltank and Snorlax spread about and the battle frontier
One of the most memorable moments of my gaming life. The first time I realised I could surf across that water in New Bark, and stepping out onto the land at the other side...the fisherman telling me that I just took my first steps in Kanto. Checking the map, seeing it was a whole other area...hearing this music...it blew my mind.

I truly believe that Gen II was the pinnacle of the series. Of course I do, I grew up with those games. And I loved Platinum. But even though Crystal isn't as good as Platinum, I don't think it was THAT bad. It didn't touch G/S, but it's decent.

From the demo that I've seen, Soul isn't helping you AT ALL, and you saying that they changed the storyline...you barely know anything about the game yet. Meh, you have a good point. However, that's exactly why this has to be called an enhanced remake; there are some large changes. I'm hoping that they just add new events to the storyline, rather than changing parts. I'm also hoping that the other-gender main exists mostly just for new items (such as the Vs. Seeker, since the phone its horribly inconvenient for rebattles) and not for somthing like multi-battles. :/
Also, I've been playing Pokemon since the first generation. I feel very nostalgic about the old games, but I'm not blinded by it. I don't play Pokemon games for their story (or lack thereof) but because it's fun. ALL Pokemon games so far have had nearly identical shallow stories with practically zero character development, and to deny that only shows how much your nostalgia has blinded you from the truth.

They are enhanced remakes, just like FR and LG. They exist for pretty much the same reason as well: to make Johto Pokemon more readily available. Legendaries were added because the DSi won't work with Pal Park. No Pal Park, no Kyogre/Groudon/Rayquaza for the DS games.

I will never, ever forget this....
One of the most memorable moments of my gaming life. The first time I realised I could surf across that water in New Bark, and stepping out onto the land at the other side...the fisherman telling me that I just took my first steps in Kanto. Checking the map, seeing it was a whole other area...hearing this music...it blew my mind.

I truly believe that Gen II was the pinnacle of the series. Of course I do, I grew up with those games. And I loved Platinum. But even though Crystal isn't as good as Platinum, I don't think it was THAT bad. It didn't touch G/S, but it's decent.

First of all, you have no idea on how many thumbs down ratings ur gonna get 4 saying that Crystal sucked.
And secondly, WHY ARE U TRYING 2 LIE FOR? I just looked up Serebii and nowhere does it say that the opposite gender is gonna assist you. That would be BS. And I know Kimono Girls are in it. And I don't mind at all.
But seriously, I know that Gen II and Gen I were the Golden Ages but you have to come out from the past and start to realise that the Pokemon games aren't THAT bad.

Also, if you want it to be exactly like the original, then there's no point of a remake. It just has better graphics. U might as well get an emulator of G/S/C. Most of the things they're adding are great actually. Since the DS cartridge has a lot more space than the GBC, Kanto has almost as much stuff as in FR/LG, without the Sevii Isles obviously. Just don't instantly jump to negative conclusions when u haven't even played it yet

I don't know why you're saying that they're gonna flop. From the demo that I've seen, Soul isn't helping you AT ALL, and you saying that they changed the storyline...you barely know anything about the game yet. Anyways, you saying that changing the storyline is bad is like saying that Crystal and Platinum are bad. Didn't they change the storyline a little bit and they came out even better than the others. And nowhere have I seen that the opposite gender is gonna help u. NOWHERE.

Meh, you have a good point. However, that's exactly why this has to be called an enhanced remake; there are some large changes. I'm hoping that they just add new events to the storyline, rather than changing parts. I'm also hoping that the other-gender main exists mostly just for new items (such as the Vs. Seeker, since the phone its horribly inconvenient for rebattles) and not for somthing like multi-battles. :/

Also, I've been playing Pokemon since the first generation. I feel very nostalgic about the old games, but I'm not blinded by it. I don't play Pokemon games for their story (or lack thereof) but because it's fun. ALL Pokemon games so far have had nearly identical shallow stories with practically zero character development, and to deny that only shows how much your nostalgia has blinded you from the truth.

Replaced. They added one character and updated the artwork, and that means that the story has been replaced. Here's a tip: Take off the nostalgia goggles for a second and give your eyes some air.
Look, it's obvious that you're more of a traditionalist when it comes to Pokemon, and that you felt gens 3 and 4 ruined a one great series. Due to that, you shouldn't even care about these games, and you should stick to the first two generations. These won't "ruin" them, even if they're terrible.

They are enhanced remakes, just like FR and LG. They exist for pretty much the same reason as well: to make Johto Pokemon more readily available. Did you bitch when they added those islands and the legendary dogs to Kanto? Actually, you probably did. :U Anyway, these games ARE enhanced remakes, which means that changes were bound to happen. Were you seriously expecting the 100% exact same game with better graphics? You want nostalgia? Do what I did a few hours ago and play G or S.

Then go play the originals. :U They're enhanced remakes, not straight ports. Changes such as these were inevitable. These games aren't being made so that you can have a nostalgia orgasm. Why do you feel the need to get worked up over insignificant changes that you can just ignore if you hate them so much?
Also, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and Arceus aren't in Johto or Kanto FYI. The Arceus is traded there, and the others are "created."
