Yepp. Speed cams use radar to detect your speed and this one warns you about them to.
Right now i got all option on, but i only use it on the highway (or whatever you can call the "bigger" roads in sweden for :-) )

No it was a speed-camera. I did only a test to see how the radar/laser detector worked.
The cord is the power cord, without it, no power ;-)

There is no detector that works with laser, when then "shoot" you, it´s already to late to do anything.
Radar is different, it´s always on and can be detected from far away with a radar warner.
