I'm not generally a Glenn Beck (GB) fan, but, if you recall, he did do a 180 degree turnaround after he got baraged with emails by RP supporters last year; & he finally did do a fair, one-hour interview shortly after that with him. After that time, GB started jumping on the RP bandwagon lock, stock, & barrel. So I give him a lot of credit for allowing RP on his program, really listening to what he had to say, and then being open enough to change his mind about him.

After seeing Paul bashed by Fox, it's disheartening to know he appears on Fox now. Suddenly his opinions are sought after by the very people that waged war against him? Although he's better exposed by joining his adversaries, Paul would be a bigger man to join the Fox boycott. But that's politics. It's all closed doors to me. Who knows why what is what it is? As for Beck? He's no Free Stater, now is he? He's George W. Beck!

I agree - caution is the rule. I'm not generally a Glenn Beck (GB) fan, but, if you recall, he did do a 180 degree turnaround after he got baraged with emails by RP supporters last year; & he finally did do a fair, one-hour interview shortly after that with him. After that time, GB started jumping on the RP bandwagon lock, stock, & barrel. So I give him a lot of credit for allowing RP on his program, really listening to what he had to say, and then being open enough to change his mind about him.

Jimmy Carter did a better job a cutting gvmnt spending than RR. RR increased the debt from $700 billion to almost $3 trillion, he raised taxes at least 5 times (on the working classes not the rich.)
He created the department of veterans affairs. He did not abolish the depts. of energy or education as he promised during the campaign.
230,000 more bureaucrats were in fed gvmnt by '88 compared to '80.
So yes Reagan did increased the size of gvmnt.

Reagan didn't abolish ONE SINGLE GOVERNMENT AGENCY, even after running on a platform where he specifically noted that agencies such as the DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION are not even authorized in the Constitution.
All government budgets rose during his administration. Not one cut.

fcz: I think the reps (some of them) have been fooling us to believe that they were the "moral" party & we believed them. Now we 're finding out that many of the reps are secret liberals so I'm hoping that a 3rd party will emerge big next election. I use to think a 3rd party vote was a waste, but now I see it as a matter of principle. I'm hoping the Beck movement will amount to a different party like the constitution party to emerge. That would show all of congress we are just sick of them all!

I never believed that republicans were the party of morality. That was nothing more than a hollow sales pitch.
They are not liberals either, the majority of them are not even moderates. The moderates were purged from the party in the 90's by the Gingrich "revolution." Actual liberal republicans to not exist, most democrats aren't liberals.
Most of congress is beholden to corporate interests. That does not make them liberals, or progressives, or socialists. It makes them corporatists.

I have mixed feelings about RP. I will not likely vote for him as long as he remains a republican.
Beck is no friend of mine however, and he is no friend of RP supporters. He called RP "crazy" and implied that his supporters are "violent" and "domestic enemies."
Beck claims to be a libertarian at heart. So do all conservatives. Beck will fall in line behind the republican mainstream when election season rolls around again.

I think the corporate media ranks their priorities in this way-
1. Make a profit.
2. Promote a corporate-centric ideology.
3. Cool screen graphics!!
4. Report only the "news" if it meets the requirements of #'s 1-2 and allows for the utilization of #3.
