@exsinner It's a hair elastic to deaden the noise of the open strings as the neck is tapped yes :) A trick I learned from watching Luke Hoskin of Protest the Hero.

Just a thought but is the guitar connected to the amp and you're recording from it, or straight to the PC? :)

That was my dad :P, he just came in to tell me something and didn't know I was recording.

I record a clean straigh to amp track and then layer over the song over it using video editing software.
