I bought this as a standby and thats a good reason for buying it. I's cheap, reliable and user friendly. The photo's it takes are great. Before you buy it just check that what they offer is what you get, I for one was fully satisfied with this deal from Tracfone.

This is phone is very lightweight and when closed it's almost razor thin, which I like a lot. Now the only thing about it being so sleek, is that I have to deal with a smaller screen but I guess you can't have everything. It does everything I need it to do, which is calls, texts and games...I love Tetris by the way. Overall it does its job and I'm not planning on upgrading any time soon

I gotta agree... I would consider myself a pretty moderate phone user. I use it every day and text a pretty average amount. I got the double minutes thing as well and I am saving soooo much money with Tracfone. I used to have verizon and it costs money to break my contract and just every month I was paying more than I as using. So far no problems with Tracfone. I like it.

these phones are very slick and have great reception... yeah they're not high tech like the iphone but i already have an ipod so i just needed it to talk and text plus it doesn't cost 100 dollars a month... they're great i seriously recomend them

I'm from Stroudsburg. If you're talking about using the radio on the W175, that phone doesn't have a radio on it. However if that was a typo and you mean the W375g, there's no way to listen to it without the headset plugged in, as that acts like an antenna, though you can put the radio on the phones speaker when the headset is plugged in (uses a standard 2.5mm headset) you can get them for $5 at dollar general or walmart

Your information about the PC dongle is false. I have this phone and I can pair it with my PC nothing can be transferred but you can connect. Tracfone is not resposible for the bluetooth deficiency either the samsung information doesn't indicate that it can communicate with anything but audio. So its the phone not tracfone.

Tracfone does have some mp3 ringtones you can download. However, it costs about 30 units to download them, so I'd choose wisely when purchasing a ringtone from their store.

You can get them on ebay or probably at radio shack. Just make sure when you do so, you put a little alluminum foil in the 3.5mm end of the adapter and play with it so you can get the radio to work in both earphones rather than just one.

yes, if you purchase a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter, you can use your regular earphones (though you may have to toy with them to get it in both earphones) but I'd recommend just getting a Motorola Stereo Headset (2.5mm)
Radio cost?! It's a radio! lol... It won't eat your minutes but it will eat your battery life if you use the radio too long. I suggest you get an extra adapter to carry around. TRUST ME. i have one and this sucks battery life if used a lot. With an extra one, you'll be a happy camper.

It only lets you play the radio through the speaker if you have the headset plugged in. All you do is when you have the radio on, go to menu and click on speaker

I was also wondering about the keypad: you know how you see those people on Chocolate 3's texting furiously? Can you do that on this one, or does it just miss the letters? (I have the Tracfone LG225 and it misses letters).
The radio is free, it does however eat up the battery if you don't have a full charge. I don't think you can text furious with it since the phone lags with the keypad.
you do not need the phone open to listen to the radio, you can close it and the radio will still be on. You cannot use regular headphones, you need a 2.5mm headset, which you can get for about $5 or at a dollar tree, and there is volume control. As of now this phone is only $30 at walmart, even with the DMFL.
I got this as an upgrade. I think it works pretty well, sends email, too, which I liked.
Browser is very slow, though. Skip it and use the website if you want ring tones and such.
Camera works well, but it's a phone cam, don't expect great pix.
Biggest gripe for me is the speakerphone is crap. It is so bad that I thought the phone was defective. I got a replacement and it is just the same. Other than that, it's a good phone.

By upgrade I mean I got this phone, a better one than I had before. To answer your question, yes, I did transfer my phone number, all my minutes, and yes, the expiration date goes with it. Actually, you get a little more time, plus a few extra minutes added when you activate the phone.

call up tracfone and tell them. They probably need to configure the settings for that phone. At first, I wasn't able to use my data settings on the phones.

When I first got this phone I had the same problem. You have to call up Tracfone and have them set up the MMS and browser settings for your phone.

Your information about the PC dongle is false. I have this phone and I can pair it with my PC nothing can be transferred but you can connect. Tracfone is not resposible for the bluetooth deficiency either the samsung information doesn't indicate that it can communicate with anything but audio. So its the phone not tracfone.

Okay, I just bought this phone, on the box it says download ringtones, but you said you can't upload... what's up? I can still download them? I want to know before I actually open it because I'll take the mother back. I don't want polyphonic ringtones, man, it's 2009.

Tracfone does have some mp3 ringtones you can download. However, it costs about 30 units to download them, so I'd choose wisely when purchasing a ringtone from their store.

You can get them on ebay or probably at radio shack. Just make sure when you do so, you put a little alluminum foil in the 3.5mm end of the adapter and play with it so you can get the radio to work in both earphones rather than just one.

yes, if you purchase a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter, you can use your regular earphones (though you may have to toy with them to get it in both earphones) but I'd recommend just getting a Motorola Stereo Headset (2.5mm)

Radio cost?! It's a radio! lol... It won't eat your minutes but it will eat your battery life if you use the radio too long. I suggest you get an extra adapter to carry around. TRUST ME. i have one and this sucks battery life if used a lot. With an extra one, you'll be a happy camper.

What a great quick info video you have created! I just bought my third phone under the Tracfone service plan. The first two were basic and straight-forward. But the new Motorola W376g is feature packed in comparison.
I have actually discovered how to use most of the features, but was not aware the USB had been disabled. I was trying to download photos from my phone (which I took) to my computer. Drove me nuts for several hours, as I tried everything. Thanks for the info. Sharon R.

It only lets you play the radio through the speaker if you have the headset plugged in. All you do is when you have the radio on, go to menu and click on speaker

My computer guru friend w/ cerebral palsy, adopted son, programmer job and more $ than I, spent 1/2 hour downloading software & trying USB port. Evil Tracfone DIDN'T save $.01 / phone ordered nixing a solder joint as I'd guessed, THEY DISABLED IT, you say?! That so I'll pay THRU the NOSE even as a big minutes user who takes pix for my landscape bus! They over-charge on their EVIL sliding date-use scale-it charges MORE against 450 min cards than 60 min cards, so I'll go to Cricket or Boost

I was also wondering about the keypad: you know how you see those people on Chocolate 3's texting furiously? Can you do that on this one, or does it just miss the letters? (I have the Tracfone LG225 and it misses letters).

The radio is free, it does however eat up the battery if you don't have a full charge. I don't think you can text furious with it since the phone lags with the keypad.

you do not need the phone open to listen to the radio, you can close it and the radio will still be on. You cannot use regular headphones, you need a 2.5mm headset, which you can get for about $5 or at a dollar tree, and there is volume control. As of now this phone is only $30 at walmart, even with the DMFL.

I got this as an upgrade. I think it works pretty well, sends email, too, which I liked.
Browser is very slow, though. Skip it and use the website if you want ring tones and such.
Camera works well, but it's a phone cam, don't expect great pix.
Biggest gripe for me is the speakerphone is crap. It is so bad that I thought the phone was defective. I got a replacement and it is just the same. Other than that, it's a good phone.

By upgrade I mean I got this phone, a better one than I had before. To answer your question, yes, I did transfer my phone number, all my minutes, and yes, the expiration date goes with it. Actually, you get a little more time, plus a few extra minutes added when you activate the phone.

Sorry for the long reply. Yes, you can use any 2.5mm headset. I use a 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter so I can use my own earphones.

I just got a Moto W175g shipped free with 68 minutes from Safelink which is owned by Tracfone in Florida! I got it because i replied to thier TV Commercial and applied on the website and got approved and got it on New Years eve afternoon by Fedex!
