Ha, Richard has such a fleeting "Ah, yeah, of course that WOULD be the title, wouldn't it" look on his face when Jimmy tells him the book is "The Tin Soldier." Jack Huston is a very talented actor; all of the little subtleties in his performance, the way he makes himself both sympathetic, innocent, yet ruthless all at the same time... I've gained total respect for him since I started watching him in this show.
i wanna know how it is he gives himself that deep raspy voice!!! XD Huston is british and has a very smooth sounding voice so im like -omg way to be a perfect actor XD
Jack Huston as Richard Harrow is one of the most brilliantly understated performances in years. He speaks very little, but exudes so much in other ways. One of the most enigmatic (and best) characters in the show.
Harrow is quite the Doctor Jekyll/Mr. Hyde character. On one hand, he seems sort of shy and sensitive, but then he casually suggests killing four people.
HBO - Sopranos, The Wire, Entourage, Band of Brothers, Carnivale, Deadwood, Six Feet Under, OZ. Now they have Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones, AMAZING! I love you HBO!
I love that Jimmy is so nice to him and gives him a feeling that he belongs somewhere and that he has a purpose. How many people can honestly say they would take a seat next to him without letting their discomfort get to them? Harrow is one of my favorite characters on this show and I can't wait to see more of him next season.
@HelloThar9 I know, I was soo happy to hear that! I think after his first appearance he got such a good response, I don't know anyone who didn't like this character, and especially how good the acting was.
Definitely talented, can't believe he hadn't gotten a role to show what he was capable of before this. Can you believe he was actually about to quit acting before he got this part?
By far the best non main role. As a veteran I love how the two have a close, yet quiet friendship. A trust formed from the horrors of war was written beautifully.
@sirbizzyd3 I then cannot wait til the second season, I wish he had been in more scenes in the first, mostly because he became my favourite character and this guy is an amazing actor, and has become one of my favourite actors now.
Whoa! I mentioned that on the last video I watched. Only, I think his character (strangely) reminds me of Fallout's ghoul characters in general. The scarred face is so incidental it's almost hard to believe it is - with that voice.
Probably my favorite on the show right now. It's really to bad it took this long for him to be introduced. Really hope to see more of Richard 'Half Face' Harrow in the future...
What can i get for you smooth skin?

Notice how he says people, not 'the characters', or whatever. I think sometimes a lot of us feel the same way.

@IndianaDylan "It occurred to me that the basis of fiction is that people have some sort of connection with each other, but they don't."
He lost the connection to others once he lost half of his face. He now projects his lack of connection on the characters.
He used to enjoy the books when he had the "connection".
It's my favorite line in the TV show.

There is some GREAT acting in this series - but this may be the best scene of all.
(The one where Jimmy describes the war to the guy in Chicago is a close contender)
