All hand done, bad news if you ask me. I would want a robot to do this accurately, every one of these steps. I have an implant in a broken tooth. Leaving the root, doing a root canal, and inserting the implant. Tooth was then removed down below the gum line and a new tooth was put in going below the gum line. Before I could not floss because when I was young my molars were impacted and pushed all my teeth together. Thus later in life chewing on something hard the tooth broke, Now I can floss.

@StrikeScape I'm surprised to hear that, I had no pain at all, completely awake during the procedure, even talking with the staff at times. The sounds of the wrench and the pressure of the twisting motion were unusual ;)

Maybe a dumb question but if there is no tooth there what is being drilled and screwed into? Jaw bone? Looks terribly painful.

@GTechno13 The jaw bone is being drilled into, then a screw is threaded into the jaw bone and an artificial tooth is secured directly onto the screw. Therefore, one can have an implant that is secured directly into the bone, and not have to wear a 'fumbly' set of dentures.
