Stop raggin on this dude because of his English. He took the time to make a video. Shut up and make your own if you don't like it. I swear, some people are just plain rude. Your parents did a shitty job raising you. By the way, the planes didn't hit each other. The KLM pilot made an error and took off before he was allowed to because he wasn't patient.
To Sonny767: Don't feel bad, most Americans can't speak proper English either. At least you can speak two languages, another plus for you. Not many native born Americans can say that....and as you can obviously tell, most Americans are extremely rude, too....and for the record, I am an American and deal with this kind of attitude everyday and it gets old real quick.
HI THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEO A SINCERE REMEMBRANCE TO THESE 583 PERSONS I WANT TO WIISH ENDLESS REST IN PEACE TO THESE 583 SOULS IT IS A LESSON FOR FUTURE PILOTS AND CREWMEMBERS THIS TRAGIC INCIDENT COULD BE AVOIDED
According to Readers' Digest, upon impact with the Pan Am aircraft, some parts of the KLM's undercarriage were vapourised, with temperatures reaching 1200 Celsius.
@herhhh As a pilot, I have missed my route at an unfamilar airport. However, this is NOT a cause of this accident. It was cause problems, however did not cost the accident. The KLM on the other hand did NOT wait for clearance from the tower. Being the cause of this accident. Even if the Pan AM follow their intented route, the KLM DID NOT folow the correct procedure of flying and watching for ATC Clearance.
@RaceAcer60 I dont know why but I think because the KLM captain was in a hurry to go back so he thought it would have been smart to take of and not listen to air traffic contol.
I would like to ask a question if i may; i would like to know why the (ATC) did not just let the plane roll up to the spot where the KLM plane had sat and let that plane wait until the KLM plane had taken off and cleared the airport,DONT YA THINK IT WOULDA BEEN WORTH WAITING THAT LITTLE EXTRA TIME?.Sure of course would, look at all of the ppl would that have been saved.
It is very refreshing to see a something of respect for all the people who were involved, especially the dead. And not just blaming and maiming as if someone would ever wanted this to happen. Mistakes were made and someone particular made a fatal mistake. We all know.... A sad sad day.
A great effort, well done indeed! Could I ask, where did you get the image from at 0:50 which shows how the planes were parked on the taxiway? I've been looking for such a diagram for ages and this was just what I needed!
wow this is a great vid 5 stars but the co pilot was Robert Bragg for PanAm flight go to youtube and watch: crash of the century He talks about it Pan am co pilot: Robert Bragg not Victor Grubb sorry.
i was on the panam, we were just taxiing down the runway and all of a sudden, i saw this KLM 747 throttoling down the runway towards us, when the KLM collided with me, the gear went flying over me and almost hit me, i was so lucky that i survived that crash :O
What a lovely tribute for a horrible incident; and with an interesting choice of music. I grew up on Pan Am and remember this vividly. Your heart is in the right place and I am sorry that others posted comments about your English. It was unnecessary.
this happened exactly 31 years ago today, rest in peace, god be with those who died in that terrible accident i kinda was in tears bcuz my family lives there : [
I want to thank you all for all your kind comments! It really means a lot to me when I read through all those comments and also it's good to see other people think about it! Thank you, gracias, danke, bedankt!
I don't want to use the fact that I'm Dutch as an excuse but I can use it to say that I'm still learing and eventhough my english improved since I made this video there still is a long way to go.
I'm verry sorry about my English but I'm working on it and I can say that it has improved over the last year and I now know that it is 'fell out the sky'. Thanks for your comment anyway.
Van Zanten was in such a rush... if he had calmed and slowed down the whole thing could have been avoided, but thing what would have happened if it was a head on nose-nose collition
i watched a documentary on it and the raidos they had where really bad consiquently as the pan-am plane was saying "we are still taxing on the runway" the tower was telling the klm what to do this happend at exactly the same time causing the towers words to stop at "yes" and the pan-ams words were not heard, the KLM went, the pan-am saw it coming and tried to turn off the rwy but it was to late
A wonderful tribute to all those whom lost their lives in this tragic incident. I was barely 8 years old at the time, but somehow, have never been able to rid myself of the shock and sadness over this tragedy. Nicely done and kudos to you for your creation, caring and sharing.
Excellent tribute!!!.At least a tribute that respect the victims, their relatives and the pilots.Excellent video, done with respect.Excellent work.Congratulations!Greetings from Argentina.
Este video es muy emotivo, y toca el corazon profundamente. Paz a los restos de esos pasajeros y tranquilidad a sus familiares, y al Piloto de KLM , que Dios lo haya perdonado por haber provocado ese desastre.
Incredible, you 're only 14, and your vidéo is really good but sad. I hope that i'll never see that with A-380...I think that you'll be a good pilot later.
thank you Sonny. All young people going into aviation careers need to understand what happened that horrible day. I have told this story to many fliers and have discussed it in many classrooms. NEVER AGAIN!

heer Struik, bedankt voor dit beeld-monument.
opmerkingen: 'ment' moet zijn meant. en 'the main' time moet zijn: the mean time. dit doet een beetje aan het geheel af;
