@canofsoupify Well, the main reason to do the mod is to rid your phone of all the bloatware crap that the carriers preinstall. Some of the bloatware can be uninstalled but some can't. The removal of all the bloatware helps to improve the speed the OS performs at as well as making some of the carrier blocked features available. People have reported battery life lasting longer as a side effect of removing all the bloatware.

@Redcupsmash dont you have cwm installed before you flashed your rom? just restore using cwm and revert it back to whaver you saved in cwm, it is a very low level restore, pretty much works on everything.

CM7.1 is awesome. The lock rings are fully customizable. I don't really like the sliders. Gestures are awesome too. AOSP ROMs equal speed & performance. The Theme Chooser app lets you theme your phone dialer, notification bar, etc...

@gta4fan1013 you need to download google apps, if you use the rom manager (clockwork) go to download ROM then google apps, when you've downloaded it, install it over the top of cyanogen, so no need to wipe dalvik cache etc, message if you get stuck
